   Well, the scriptures promise that “if ye are prepared ye shall not fear.” Gaining a greater understanding of the signs of the times can go a long way in helping us be prepared in these last days. I really enjoyed this set of CDs. Two of them were for seminary aged youth, but they were still really good. Vila and I sometimes listen to them when we are driving.

Bird), and THE MILLENNIUM (Curtis Jacobs) From the talk, Second Coming: Great or Dreadful? by Curtis Jacobs I thought the quote he brought up by Brigham Young was especially interesting considering the time that I read this, during COVID 19 and the majority of the missionaries outside of the United States had been called home and for the most part none could go door to door. The following is the quote from Brigham Young: "Do you think there is calamity abroad now among the people?” Not much. All we have yet heard and all we have experienced is scarcely a preface to the sermon that is going to be preached. When the testimony of the Elders ceases to be given, and the Lord says to them, “Come home; I will now preach my own sermons to the nations of the earth,” all you now know can scarcely be called a preface to the sermon that will be preached with fire and sword, tempests, earthquakes, hail, rain, thunders and lightnings, and fearful destruction..You will hear of magnificent cities, now idolized by the people, sinking in the earth, entombing the inhabitants..." JOURNAL OF DISCOURSES 8:123 Curtis also mentions that it has been prophesied in section 29:16 of the D&C that there shall be a great hailstorm sent forth to destroy the crops of the earth--good reason for food storage!! And interesting as the United States Corn Crop was destroyed in the midwest this August from a massive derecho (widespread, long-lived storm with severe thunderstorms and winds). And there continues to be MANY fires, hurricanes, etc reported. Jacobs also talks of a hail storm from Revelations where each stone will weigh about a talent=76 lbs. I don't know of what crops or homes that can withstand that. That's about 18 inch in diameter. This scripture Jacobs brought up was also one that caught my interest. D&C 5:19 19 For a desolating scourge shall go forth among the inhabitants of the earth, and shall continue to be poured out from time to time, if they repent not, until the earth is empty, and the inhabitants thereof are consumed away and utterly destroyed by the brightness of my coming.

   This is a compilation of 4 talks and 2 sections from books about the second coming of Jesus Christ. I've read and heard a lot of material on this subject but this compilation was very, very good. One author covered the three comings of Christ (Adam Ondi Ahman, Armageddon and the final coming). Another covered the term "great and dreadful" day of the Lord and what we need to do to make sure it is a 'great' and not 'dreadful' day for us.    This is full of lectures and book excerpts. They all use scriptural references and expound on what they have learned or how they believe the scripture will be fulfilled. It was very intriguing and I never got bored listening to it.

   Excellent book. The five authors use the scriptures and modern day prophet quotes to explain the events that will take place as the second coming approaches as well as what life will be like during the millennium. Very interesting.
