Met Her Match (A Hawkeye Story) by Sierra Cartwright Genre: BDSM Erotic Contemporary Series: Hawkeye; Previous Book: Bend Me Over Highly trained Mira Araceli can hold her own in the toughest parts of the world, but not, it seems, against her secret crush, Torin Carter. She'd fallen for her Hawkeye instructor years before, and to him, she'd been just another recruit; fresh, green, idealistic. Torin, with his dark Irish good looks and fierce temper, doesn't want a partner, any partner, and especially not Mira. But assignments are assignments, and he takes his responsibilities seriously. So when the beautifully submissive Mira crawls into his bedroom, a leather belt between her teeth, he calls on all his resolve to send her away. Unsatisfied, Mira ups the stakes and finds another dom to play with at Dark Haven. Beyond furious, Torin storms into Master Xavier's club and claims his rights to dominate Mira. For the first time in her life, she's met her match. Educating Evangeline by Belinda McBride Genre: BDSM Shape-shifter Paranormal This isn't what she came here for! Pursued by a group of mysterious hunters, Evangeline Jones was desperate for sanctuary when she ducked into the doorway of Dark Haven. Instead of safety, she discovers a decadent, sensual world that challenges her very outlook on life. Harte Sommers is charmed by the little wolf with the pink streak in her ebony hair. As alpha of the Napa pack, he sometimes feels that he's alone at the top. When he meets Eva, he knows he might not be able to keep his wild little wolf at his side, but his heart tells him that his lonely days might be at an end. Simon Says: Mine by Cherise Sinclair Genre: BDSM Erotic Contemporary Related Title: Master of the Mountain With an empty nest and divorce in hand, Rona decides it's time to explore the fantasies that nourished her through a long, tedious marriage to a man whose idea of outrageous sex was leaving the lights on. At the top of her fantasy list is touring Dark Haven, the BDSM club, but she isn't prepared for the effect of a powerful Dom. When Master Simon takes control and introduces her to toys and sensations she's never felt before, she realizes he could fulfil every fantasy on her list all by himself. But she's vowed to never get trapped in a relationship again. One of the most popular Doms in Dark Haven, Master Simon has had his fill of eager, shallow, young subs. Rona is older, intelligent, independent...and sweetly submissive. After an evening of intense pleasure and despite her obvious attraction, she refuses to see him again. He needs a way to change her mind. She's not the first sub he's taken on a journey of exploration, but he's beginning to think she might be the last. Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, strong BDSM theme and elements to include exhibitionism and voyeurism.

This is an anthology with 3 stories. The first story Met Her Match was AWFUL. The hero was a sadistic bully, the heroine was a pain sl*t. He loved to give intense pain and she loved to get it. Yikes, If this was my first bdsm story, I would never read another. I would give this book 1 star and that's generous. The second story was Educating Evangeline. This was a paranormal shape shifting story. I couldn't get into it at all and it was just eh for me. I would give it 3 stars. Now the last book Simon This is an anthology with 3 stories. The heroine was someone I could really relate to. She was wonderful and some of the things she said and thought were so funny I laughed out loud. My only complaint is that this wasn't a full length book. I would give this story 5 plus stars.

    1. Met Her Match by Sierra Cartwright - 1* What a ridiculous take on BSDM! Simon Says: Mine by Cherise Sinclair - 1* Not just that the hero is a passive-aggressive arsehole who, even though giving lip-service to SSC/RACK, gets insertive sexual with a woman he has just met and who he "forcefully convinces" into submitting to him, the whole story is so rife with sorry old clichés, that I was wincing practically every other page. Yes, he can beat up other men just nice. Yes, he gets called "Master" and "Sir" and whatnot. Yes, he of course foists himself on a woman telling him she has no interest. And yes, of course this nonsense ends with marriage, even though the heroine stated she didn't want to re-marry. Oh, and just a short note: safer sex needs to be extended to toys and fingers/hands etc. used. After these three stories I feel like having contracted chlamydia, probably crabs, nice cases of athlete's foot, maybe Hep B and C, and possibly a couple of worse STIs. And it wasn't written so you could forget it. Not recommended at all.

Cherise Sinclair's story get 4 1/2 stars, the other 2 stories get 3 stars. I admit I only purchased this book because I needed another Cherise Sinclair fix. I know it’s only a short story but it’s better than nothing and Ms. Sinclair knows how to write great stories. All three stories in this anthology occur on the same night at Dark Haven during a Victorian era themed night. It may have been third in the book (saving the best for last?) but I’m getting right to my main attraction. Simon Says: Mine by Cherise Sinclair While Dark Haven is no Club Shadowlands (*cries*) there were many similarities. Master Simon has all the same qualities as the Doms at Shadowlands. I immediately liked Rona. Older, mature, recently divorced, grown kids, a nurse and looking to cross a few items off her to-do list. And like a lot of Sinclair’s heroine’s, she doesn’t think she’s young enough, thin enough or pretty enough. Thankfully Sinclair's Doms don’t seem to mind at all and in fact prefer this type of woman...like most of us. A few quick impressions of Master Simon from Rona’s point of view (just to get you in the mood): “Of course he’s dangerous - he has a flogger, and he knows how to use it“. God, he was so gorgeous, like a blade, but not a bland kitchen knife - more like a medieval dagger. Elegant and deadly, but the look in his eyes was so caring. Almost loving. Cue the shivers and chills! Every time I read one of these books, Sinclair introduces a new aspect of this lifestyle she hasn’t used before. I feel like I’m getting an education right along with the heroine. Suctions cups? WTF? Holy Moly...do these things really go on? I felt like the suctions cups should have come with a warning: Objects may appear larger than they actually are...only in this case - THEY grew/became/stayed larger - ohhhhhh my! Things move fast in a short story. Simon is another seemingly perfect, understanding, caring, totally in tune Dom who’s number 1 priority is his sub. I liked that while Rona expressed an interest in the lifestyle - she wasn’t really looking to “tie” herself to one man. Simon took all her misgivings and threw them right out the window. SMOKIN’ HOT! 4 ½ Starts Met Her Match: Sierra Cartwright How can 2 operatives work together and have to trust each other and have a Dom/S relationship? Torin Carter didn’t want to cross the bounds with his partner Mia Araceli but she was determined to force his hand (or another male appendage) so when he’s forced to stake his claim on Mira at Dark Haven and publicly punish her - it changes the rules in their relationship. Mira likes Torin‘s “heavy hand”. She’s been after him for awhile to show her the Dom/s ropes. Showing up nekkid on his bed with his belt in her mouth - well if that isn’t a clear message...?? I liked the dynamic between Torin/Mira and was wondering how they would be able to handle the Dom/s relationship and then transition to an equal footing on a partnership - work relationship. Needless to say they worked things out to everyone’s satisfaction. Another hot short story 3 stars The final story Educating Evangeline was my least favorite of the three. Evangeline's a lone wolf who needs the help of alpha Werewolf Dom Harte Sommers and his pack when she’s being hunted and stumbles into Dark Haven one night . She agrees to his terms and conditions and agrees to submit and learn from Harte in exchange for his protection. This story was ok but just didn't pack the punch when compared to the "master" Sinclair. 3 Stars

Just the Cherise Sinclair story So... After finishing Master of the Mountain yesterday evening I just had to read Simon's novella. It didn't disappoint. I love these guys! What I wanted to share was my feeling concerning the Dark Haven. After reading about the Shadowlands, the Dark Haven club seems so disorganised. Anyone can get in, not enough safeguards in place. I don't know how anyone could ever relax enough to "play" there. Still, there are a lot about BDSM that I don't understand. I love this Just the Cherise Sinclair story So... H O T. I read this book for the third part which was written by my favorite BDSM author Cherise Sinclair. What a hot story! I loved that they were 40 and sexy as hell. With most BDSM and romance novels choosing innocent female leads in their twenties, it gives us gals in our early 30's something different and erotically refreshing to look forward to! This anthology was very entertaining…and hot!! I squirmed through the entire read. For me, there is nothing sexier than a dominant man, and I had the pleasure of reading about three. All three stories were equally good, but my favorite was Simon Says: Mine. OMG!! Simon was one sexy mutha! I wanted him to spread ME on the table and just devour me in an all-you-can-eat buffet. 3 Hot Doms and 3 Beautiful Submissives - what's not to like? The most interesting part of the first story was the fact they were already partners. Mira and Torin trusted each other going in. It was everything else they had to work out. Harte was an Alpha Male and an Alpha Wolf. The trick for him was to figure out how to combine the two with Eva. Rona had to figure out just what she wanted. Was the secret to avoiding a bad relationship not limiting herself to a single man - even one like Simon? The way all three couples met on the same night at Dark Haven really worked. I liked the little cameos and crossovers between the stories. The only possible negative was that they were so cookie-cutter. All 3 involved women who had never been into BDSM before falling for a Dom with years of experience and a bevy of past beauties. But that does seem to be a popular idea.

I was so glad to see Simon get his own story, and WHAT a story it was! I love all the "Men on the Mountain", but Simon really is my favorite, I guess because he is older, and doesn't have to have a 20 something skinny woman, he has a woman that is a little older and a little rounder, and she is "teachable"! And boy does he teach her! Cherise Sinclair is my new favorite author, not to mention my favorite genre! I was so glad to see Simon get his own story, and WHAT a story it was! This is the anthology that introduced me to BDSM reads that had actual plots and enjoyable characters. It also added all three authors to my “Must find more by these authors immediately” list! The Met Her Match story by Sierra Cartwright is related to her Hawkeye books – both the hero and heroine are employed by Hawkeye as security specialists. The dynamics of two partners establishing the parameters of their relationship – in and out of the BDSM world – is the driver for this story. You do not have to read any of the other Hawkeye books to know what is going on – although several of the supporting characters have their own books in this series. They all tend to towards the rougher end of sexual activity but as they say “If it’s consensual and works for all involved… who am I to say anything?” Educating Evangeline by Belinda McBride is a paranormal read, related to the Truckee Wolves books. Goodreads lists this story as #2 in the series, but you do not have to read the first, Toxic, before reading this one. [It is a good read though, I enjoyed it.] Intent on escaping the evil representatives of Abraxis [the usual group of evil scientists to whom medical ethics are a closed book], Evangeline follows a group of people into Dark Haven. Dark Haven turns out to be a BDSM club but she is allowed to join the group. Trying to ‘blend’ she meets Harte – alpha of a pack of shifters in the Napa Valley. There are dominance issues, pack politics and, of course, the Abraxis hunters to be dealt with but maybe, just maybe, Evangeline may have finally found a home and Harte a partner. Simon Says: Mine by Cherise Sinclair. Oh my. This author is such a find. The hero and heroine were absolutely wonderful and I loved that they were ‘older’ and still hot and sexy. [Of course your concept of older changes through the years. I’d stand in line to be looking at 40 – from either side!] This is a wonderful introduction to the ‘whys’ of BDSM plus more than a few ‘hows’ – with emphasis on communication, mutual consent and always safety. Simon is as alpha as they come – but brings out the romance and sweetness as well. Rona was in some ways very typical – a woman with issues related to her age and her body-image – who keeps assuming no one would want her. Fortunately Simon can be a very determined man who has a firm grasp of her issues – and her. Goodreads lists this as #1.5 in the Dark Haven/Mountain Masters series. You don’t have to read the others [although you will want to] as it works very well as a standalone. In many ways this reads more like a novel than the anthology. Since all three stories occur at Dark Haven on the same night, each story has glimpses of the characters and scenes that are central to the other two stories. The writing styles are compatible, the action flows very smoothly through the book. Very well done, ladies! But, Simon, is the kind of Dom who knows how to handle a submissive and he can see in her head and know her. They are amazing together! The complete each other. Rona has a lot to learn about BDSM world and Simon is more than willing to be her teacher! She is submissive but she’s also a strong woman and I like her for that. And Simon? I loved his experience and the fact that he knew how to let Rona free so she can come back to him! I just loved the story!!! “Met Her Match” by Sierra Cartwright 3 stars Torin and Mira are partners but soon everything becomes hot and steamy between them. Mira wants to submit to Torin but he doesn’t do anything about it. Things change after Torin saw her playing with another Dom. Then their Dom/sub relationship begins. I have to be honest and say that Torin and Mira didn’t felt quite right as a couple. I believe that Mira was very aggressive sub and, although, Torin said that he liked her that way, it’s not my favorite. Nevertheless, it was a decent story to read! “Educating Evangeline” by Belinda McBride 3 stars A paranormal/BDSM read! That’s unique! This is the story of Evangeline who finds herself in a difficult situation but soon she meets Harte, the Alpha of the pack. He introduces her to the BDSM world and soon they realize that they are a great match. Another decent story, but I have to admit that when I read something paranormal, I prefer a whole book and not a novella because I want a detailed world-building. The main couple was good so that’s why I enjoyed reading it.

Doms of Dark Haven Met Her Match by Sierra Cartwright 3.5 Stars-Good I really enjoyed this story. There is nothing like a well written story and when you add that it’s part of a series I’m hooked. Though not long at 9 chapters it was enough and not rushed. Educating Evangeline by Belinda McBride 3.5 Stars-Good Another new author for me and my only disappointment is that there is no series yet that I can see on the Truckee pack. I’ve got my eye on it when it comes out that’s how much I liked this one. All 10 chapters went by quickly and enjoyably. I was thrown a bit with wolves into the BDSM thing but I’m up for reading more. Simon Says: Mine by Cherise Sinclair 4 Stars-Very Good Humor is one of the things that draw me to Ms. Sinclair’s stories because she does it so well and I know I will always get a laugh. There was a plethora of toys in this story that stirred my imagination through all 8 chapters too. Mira reminds me of the girl in school at the back of the line, who wants but doesn’t expect the hot popular guy to notice her, never mind pick her over all the popular girls. I like that Simon picked her;) Gotta love a man with experience: “Of course he's dangerous—he has a flogger, and he knows how to use it.” I believe this next line is what made me enjoy this story so much because it’s the inner woman in some of us wanting to explore: “Maybe, while here, she could try a little bit—just a taste, not a whole meal. Have someone tie her hands or something.” I have all the other Dark Haven books in the queue.

This book is a short story/novella collection of BDSM stories that share the San Francisco club Dark Haven as either the primary setting or an important setting piece. And as I nearly ALWAYS say when it comes to short story collections, it's uneven. Which is to be expected. I think it's very unrealistic to go into a book like this and expect all the stories contained therein to all hit the high notes. Especially in a book like this where there are three different writers involved. In the first story 'Met Her Match' which is written by Sierra Cartwright, how do I say this? It was pure porn. There was little to no character development to speak of nor very much plot. Now, I'm not saying that porn in and of itself is bad or immoral. However, having said that, while I understand that when I read an erotic romance the sex scenes are longer and there are more of them than in any other kind of story... I still expect a actual story to read. There was none here to speak of. Just sex. And I'm going to be frank here, if anal sex isn't your thing, than you're not going to be very turned on by the sex either. If it is, enjoy to your heart's content, I'm certainly not here to judge what sort of written sex acts tittilate a reader. It takes all kinds to rule the world. Also, the male lead, Torrin, is portrayed as an asshole. He's angry and pissed off for reasons that aren't made especially clear and as the whole story focuses on the sex, he never gets the chance to be shown as anything but the asshole we first see in the story's opening. And I have to point out for any newbies who are thinking about entering the BDSM scene, there is an act described that is very dangerous and ALL doms and dommes are taught from day one to NEVER do this. Torrin ties Mira in full bondage, face down in the bed. She could never get out of this without assistance. Then he LEAVES and goes and takes a SHOWER. You NEVER leave a sub, or anyone else for that matter, tied up in full bondage and leave them alone, nevermind going and doing something that would preclude you from hearing said sub if she/he is in distress. This is an absolute rule and is taught to every 1st day dom/domme. What Torrin does is SO dangerous and frankly in a realistic tale Mira would kick his ass and if she told the owner of the club, he'd most likely kick Torrin off the membership list. The community does not fuck around with safety rules like this. SSC (safe, sane, consensual) isn't to be ignored. Lastly this story takes place in Cartwright's Hawkeye series universe and I think some knowledge of that universe is vital to really understand the 4 pages of actual plot. The second story 'Educating Evangeline', by Belinda McBride, was great and my favorite one in the book. This story is a paranormal tale of a pair of werewolves. It's an interesting story that explores how certain aspects of BDSM would not work with someone who is half wolf. There's also attention paid to the fact that submission does not equal weak and that outside of the specific boundaries of each person's BDSM zone, a sub is under no obligation to remain submissive. Many BDSM authors pay some lip service to this, but few really showcase it. McBride's submissives, supernatural or otherwise read very realistically. Very few people are subs every minute of their lives, and it's nice to have an author remind us of that. This story had the most plot and the least sex. However the sex was quite hot. Evangaline is the sort of sub who is submissive to only ONE man: Her mate, who is the alpha of his pack. It's nice to read a story about this sort of sub, they certainly do exist and are often underused by BDSM authors. I intend to to look into Belinda McBride's other work and see if this is part of a larger storyline that she writes. I hope so, because I'm hooked and I've always been a sucker for PNR about shapeshifters. The third and final story is 'Simon Says' by Cherise Sinclair. Alright, bad first and then I'll finish up with the good. The Bad: Maybe it's because I discovered Cherise Sinclair and read 5 of her Shadowlands books her 1st Mountain Masters book and then this short story in a right in a row, but... I'm getting bored. Is it just me or does Ms. Sinclair tell the SAME story over and over again? Here's how it goes, without fail: 1. Woman who is "sweetly submissive" but with either absolutely no or very little experience enters a BDSM club. This woman is, in now 4 out of 5 Shadowlands books, 1 out of 2 Masters of the Mountain books that I'm aware of and now this short story, overweight, very insecure about it and usually has one other thing that they feel makes them unattractive. In this story, the sub, Rona, is an older, divorced woman. 2. She meets a male dom who is the epitome of ripped and handsome. A nearly flawless speciman of a man who prefers women who look just like she does. No matter how Adonis-like the man, no matter how not Aphrodhite-like the woman, she's just what he likes. This is not me being sizest... it's me being bored with a theme that never seems to waver or change at all. 3. He guides her on her journey of BDSM self discovery with the hand of a paternal father figure... but with sex. That was a creepy way to describe it, but after staring at the screen for 10 minutes, I couldn't think of a single otherway to phrase it. 4. He is always right, he knows her better than she knows herself. He may as well be psychic he understands her needs so well. Even when she states something as a hard limit, he pushes her past it and she never needs her safe word. She always lists anal sex as an absolute limit and he always convinces her that she loves it. I do not have issues with people writing anal sex, I just wish just once one of these doms could be wrong and a no could mean no. I get bored with too much perfection and these men are TOO perfect. 5. She has some last minute doubts about how well they're suited to each other and he convinces her otherwise. End story, cue HEA. It never changes folks and at this point I'm getting REALLY bored. It's like she's telling the same story over and over and over again. Which is ironic since she was quoted in an interview as saying "Tell a story once and don't repeat." Ms. Sinclair does nothing BUT repeat. Which is sad because with the sole exception of ONE of her books I've always found things I loved about each of her stories, but the iron clad same old same old routine she has for each book is killing it for me with boredom. As for the size issue, the reason I finally had enough is this. All but one story of her's that I've read has an overweight female lead and they are always described as "soft", "feminine", "sexy" and "lush". Actually "lush" gets overused, I counted how many times Sinclair used it in one book and counted 37 times! In this story Rona looks around the room at persepective doms and sees some overweight men and writes them off as "fat". WTF??? So overweight women are soft, feminine, sexy and lush, but overweight men are just fat? You can't have it both ways Ms. Sinclair. Either ALL people of ALL sizes are beautiful or only the Adonises and Aphrodhites are. The Good: Cherise Sinclair has an eye for setting that has few equals. She could set a story in a shoebox and you would feel as though you were in that shoebox and it was the only place you ever wanted to be. And even though this is a short story she does the same for the Dark Haven club and Simon's house. I could FEEL these places beneath my fingertips and wanted to stay in them. Rona is a fully realized character, and I have to give Sinclair credit, she doesn't let the format of a short story get in the way of her making these people seem real. The other 2 stories in this collection suffered for that, but not Sinclair's. Rona, Simon and the rest are so well developed that they could have waltzed off into a full length book of their own as a sequel and it could pick up exactly where she left off and everything would be fine. No backstory neccesary save for one thing: Why are some of Simon's fingers paralyzed? She brought attention to this and then never explained it. Lastly, once again Sinclair goes out of her way to give descriptions of gay and lesbian members of the lifestyle. And once again this queer woman who sees herself reflected in so little of popular fiction, appreciates it. In the end the story was good, but if you've read Sinclair before, nothing new happens, she does not deviate from her format in any way. There are two characters in this book who were in every story. The club owner, a male dom whose name I cannot recall at the moment and the receptionist Destiny. Destiny stole the show in many of her scenes. Admittedly she seemed very much a switch and thus was utilized in different ways by different authors and Sinclair used her the least while McBride used her the most with Cartwright falling in between the two. It didn't amtter, she walked off with whatever scene she was in. Somebody write Destiny's story! Or all three authors can write it, I don't care. I just love this character too much to not see her again! Three stars because while I liked it, there were definately things that grated on my nerves.

Description: Met Her Match (A Hawkeye Story) by Sierra Cartwright Series: Hawkeye; Previous Book: Bend Me Over Highly trained Mira Araceli can hold her own in the toughest parts of the world, but not, it seems, against her secret crush, Torin Carter. Educating Evangeline by Belinda McBride This isn't what she came here for! Simon Says: Mine by Cherise Sinclair Related Title: Master of the Mountain With an empty nest and divorce in hand, Rona decides it's time to explore the fantasies that nourished her through a long, tedious marriage to a man whose idea of outrageous sex was leaving the lights on. My Thoughts: I knew anything Cherise Sinclair put her name on was going to be good and I wasn't disappointed! I admit to not being aware of the other two writers in this anthology taking place at Dark Haven the BDSM Club however, I now have two more authors I need to explore. I am totally intrigued by the Hawkeye series. In all three stories I found the characters easy to relate to...both the men and the women. The writing styles are very compatible and makes it easy to flow from one story to the next. I love how the characters from one of the other stories are mentioned in passing in each story. I really like Dark Haven and I can't wait to read Master Xavier's story. The club is a great setting. I have read both Logan's and Jake's books had Dark Haven as a location so I knew a bit about it. The feel reminds me a lot of Club Shadowlands Cherise Sinclair's wonderful series and that was a big plus in my opinon. The BDSM was carefully used in the story to show novices that there are definite rules to be obeyed and that the practice is always safe and consentual. The freshness each writer brought was the crafting of the characters and the feelings projected. I truly enjoyed this book and am off to read Dark Haven Western Nights. I am hope these three lades get together give us more Dark Haven books I'm ready to put my hard earned money down so I can once again experience Dark Haven and its patrons time and time again. Solid 4 stars shiney stars... would have been 5 stars but I never give short stories 5 stars on principle. Curious about BDSM this is a great book for you. HEA and love as well as steam and spanks what more can you ask for!! I would read it in private or have your partner at hand to relieve the squirming this book causes .

Met Her Match Sierra Cartwright Two Stars I have to say that at the first introduction of Torin as our alpha male and lead Dom, I felt that tell tale shiver run up and down my spine. I have to say when I met his match, it all quickly fell flat. Normally, I find that by the first intimate encounter and banter with the two leans my fingertips are itching with anticipation to skip to the end and see if these two work out. Normally, I find that by the first intimate encounter and banter with the two leans my fingertips are itching with anticipation to skip to the end and see if these two work out. Unfortunately, I didn't even care. It didn't feel like a BDSM story to me. It felt like a couple that just happen to like rough sex. She like being told what to do but didn't fully submit at all. He seemed to let her call the shots and demand things from him in the bondage scenes. There was one point where the term 'eat her pu$$y' was used and it turn from erotica to just off putting for me. I mean don't get me wrong, I love smut as much as the next person, but that turned the scene cheap for me really fast. I have to say that as a writer as a whole Cartwright is great. There is a back plot of them working for a security company called Hawkeye which was a part I totally enjoyed. It was clever and exciting. But as for the BDSM element it didn't work for me. I'm almost worried to try her other BDSM stories. Educating Evangeline Belinda McBride Four Stars Another first time author for me, I have to say that I was totally surprised by this one. I was so worried because of the first story. See, I have a very established relationship with Cherise, for me she is the queen of my BDSM reading. However, I believe that, although a bit watered down for a paranormal erotica with a BDSM theme. This story was really really good! I was transfixed and I read it only a couple of hours. It had not only a sexy as hell moment in the club, but a internal plotline that wove in perfectly. I have to say that I am a bit disappointed. I went in search of McBride’s other books in hopes that this was the beginning of a series. Or even a middle short because the characters were so well written. But I was disappointed, because I only saw one mention of shifters in any of her others books, and it was a futuristic/western/shifter type book, and I’m not so sure I can blend that much genre in one book. However, I won’t discount her in the future. I am excited to grab a few more of her books and read them. I honestly loved this story. It is missing a star only because the ending seemed slightly rushed for me considering it had no follow up book mentioned. Simon says: Mine Cherise Sinclair Five stars There is just something in the way that Cherise writes her Doms. I'm not sure if it is the raw possession, the totally visual appeal of an alpha male, or if it is how they have such great internal personalities. Whatever it is I can't seem to figure out which Dom I like better. My anticipation rose in Simon from the moment you get a glimpse of him in Master of the Mountain. I could literally hear my pain filing him away to think about later. He is not only highly aware. But he was gentle not just with Rebecca in the first of the Dark Haven series but with the woman he wants in this short. I find myself holding my breath, even leaning forward in my seat when I read her stories. It is rare for me to relate with so many women heroines but I do. In each one, no matter what age or occupation I feel that struggle in them of where they need to accept that BDSM lifestyle works for them. She write with an open door but not too vulgar. She writes of the sadists within the lifestyle, the pain sluts but she hasn't walked that path. She does have a few Masters at Shadowlands that like the rough end Master Sam being one. I'm curious I must say because he is cheeky. Again, Cherise hit it out of the park for me.

Cartwright doesn’t really adequately explain what the Hawkeye series is, making it a little hard for new readers like me to really get with the story in that regard. However, I did like her writing style and voice. I enjoyed the Irish flair that she added into Master Torin. He was a stern Dom, but a fair one. I also found that Mira’s strength was nicely displayed even as she fully gave herself over to Torin. Overall, it was a nice introduction to Cartwright’s work. I’ll be looking forward to other titles by her. EDUCATING EVANGELINE by Belina McBride – 3 stars EDUCATING EVANGELINE was my second favorite book of this anthology. Also as my first book by McBride, I found that I immediately enjoyed her writing style. It was easy, flowing and eloquent. But perhaps the best thing about this story is the way McBride is able to integrate the paranormal elements so effortlessly. As the only paranormal shape-shifting story in this anthology, McBride could either have stood out greatly or could have been overshadowed by the BDSM contemporaries. I think she managed to hold her own and delivered a story that was solid, filled with lore and love. SIMON SAYS: MINE by Cherise Sinclair – 5 stars Just reading the title gives me Goosebumps and Sinclair’s story in this anthology was the shining star! Sinclair was the #1 reason why I decided to read this anthology in the first place and boy, does she deliver!! Master Simon is one of the more popular Doms at Dark Haven and he holds the key to my heart. I loved how he handled Rona, a more tentative and older submissive. They are such a pair and Sinclair gives them a story that is definitely worth checking out. If you are a fan of MASTER OF THE MOUNTAIN, then this has a similar feel to it. Just know that you will be begging for more after reading this! P

(Sierra Cartwright) I'm putting my thoughts on Master Torin and Mira's story in before I lose any details. I liked the erotic scenes. Very sexy and Torin was deliciously alpha. (spoiler comment coming!!) My only problem was that Torin's insistance on owning and punishing Mira when he had already turned her down and said No, was not right or fair. She was well within her rights to move on and pursue pleasure elsewhere. I can appreciate a Dom's inclination to own his sub and make the rules. But in this case I don't feel he had earned that right. Still enjoyed the story though. Stay tuned for my thoughts on the next two stories.... (Belinda McBride) I've just finished the 2nd story in the book. I did not expect much from it. It seemed a stretch to combine bdsm and shape shifters. But it was a great story!! Very well written and realistic for such a short story! It flowed well and I absolutely loved the dynamics between all the characters. It really felt like I was reading a full length story. I liked the author's vision of how Eva could learn to hone her wolf skills by experiencing bdsm. That the concentration and intimacy involved in their pleasure together, mixed in with the deep trust they established, allowed her to be more perceptive to things around her. Nice story. Hope to read more about this pack!! On to the next story!..... (Cherise Sinclair) I bought this book for Cherise's story. She is one of my favorites. I love Master Simon and I also liked Rona. He was just the right amount of alpha and romantic sweetness. And Rona was a perfect blend of strong, stubborn and vulnerable sweetness as well. They were a great match and I enjoyed how he took her in hand and introduced her to the lifestyle. This author always does a fantastic job of illustrating this sexy world of her characters and also gets us excited to hear more stories about all the other individuals. I loved it!! I wish it could have been a full length book! Her books don't come out fast enough for me. Whats next?? Xavier, maybe??? Well done CS!! 5 stars from me to you!!

There are three stories in this compilation and I have mixed feelings which given an overall 3/5 stars. Simon Says: Mine by Cherise Sinclair - this book was the reason I bought the trilogy. We've met Simon before in Master of the Mountain, he's an experienced dom in Dark Haven. Rona is an unexperienced sub who goes to the club to experiment. She's newly divorced and has decided not to get into the trap of a relationship again, she needs to play the field, not get attached and risk disappointment. She and Simon hit it off but she takes persuasion to have more than just one night with Simon. As always, Cherise Sinclair has designed interesting, whole characters. i can picture them as I read, they chemistry is obvious and I like Rona's sense of humour.

I bought this book for the Cherise Sinclair story, but am happy to have found a new author to read--Sierra Cartwright. I enjoyed her short story Met Her Match, which is part of the Hawkeye series, so I'll have to catch up with that series. (It reminded me a lot of Jaci Burton's Wild Riders series which I love.) I felt that the second story, Educating Evangeline by Belinda McBride, tried to pack too much into a short story. I didn't want to read a single word from the blurb. There are three stories in this anthology: Met Her Match by Sierra Cartwright, Educating Evangeline by Belinda McBride and Simon Says: Mine by Cherise Sinclair. More of a 4.5 star rating. Sometimes I don't go for anthologies but sometime I'm really glad I did. All in all a good anthology. Each story offered a different genre in erotica (suspense, paranormal, romance) and offered a good intro to each authors work. At least I think so. I honestly did buy this for the third story, Simon Says, since I read the first Mountain Masters book and loved it. I'll read more of Belinda McBride's work, but I don't think I'll read more of Sierra Cartwright's. It's just a genre preference. Romantic suspense has yet to really grab my attention. I'm not really reviewing the other stories, just Cherise Sinclair's story. The other's didn't really interest me, but Master Simon's story was just as good as expected. My only regret was that it was a short story. You do see recurring characters from her Master of the Mountain novel and it's a good lead in to her upcoming novel about Jake.
