This is an updated version of Tellington-Jones' Getting in TTouch: Understand and Influence Your Horse's Personality. It contains the same material as the previous book, but is updated with further case studies, as well as numerous colour photos. I initially purchased the earlier book after comparing the reviews for each on Amazon. Many reviewers seemed to feel this book compared unfavorably to the last one, but I disagree -- I wish I would have saved myself the money and just bought the updated book! I rated this book higher than the previous one, due to the fact that the colour pictures provide more detail, and the author's descriptions are a bit clearer. I would recommend this book for anyone looking for a horse, as well as those hoping to find tips on resolving behavioral issues in their current horse(s).

I was trying to learn t touch massage, but that is not what this book is about. It is about assessing personality of horses and match with the rider and trainer. I think personality assessments based on physical characteristics are a load of crap. However, horses have been bred to behave in certain ways for hundreds or thousands of years, so I buy it slightly more in this case. The one great thing I got from this book is opening my eyes to truly see the horse in front of me.

I love this book and still refer to it, a lot. Her tips on how to massage and where to do specific type touches are remarkable. I also like how she decides a horse's personality or traits by looking at facial features. I don't know if they hold true in every case. It is obvious that she is partial to Arabians. A really good "horse" book for those horse owners out there. If you're looking to buy a horse, this is a good book to take with you! It goes through the different parts of a horse and what they might mean, personality wise. It also includes the TTouch exercise. I found it to be very informative. Interesting ideas but a little far fetched for me at times.
