Slower paced than the beginning ,as I think always happens in the middle of stories like these. I'm still intrigued and believe it will pick up again. The series is starting to slow down from its initial rush of fun craziness and settling into an extended narrative with the core characters stuck in the Lampwick. I think this will still be a compelling story that I plan to stick with, but it’s taking a tact that I’m not as interested in — humanity enters the Powered Age as people wish to become superheroes to contend with the absurd and dangerous state of the works. Eh… I didn’t think this would become a meta-superhero story and I’m not all tha The series is starting to slow down from its initial rush of fun craziness and settling into an extended narrative with the core characters stuck in the Lampwick. I think this will still be a compelling story that I plan to stick with, but it’s taking a tact that I’m not as interested in — humanity enters the Powered Age as people wish to become superheroes to contend with the absurd and dangerous state of the works. Eh… I didn’t think this would become a meta-superhero story and I’m not all that jazzed about it. Browne and Soule stuff the pages with some incredible visual gags and one-off jokes that make the series worth the while even if the overall narrative is taken a predictable turn. Poor Nigel, the glaciologist who wished to stall climate change only to see Santa Claus devoured by a deranged moon. Climate change is, indeed, no longer the primary existential threat to humanity in this universe.

More rules for the world as it is now. Every wish has a very unique and almost purposeful down side. But the genies in general seem to want to give good advice and answer questions readily. It's not like they want to "trick" the humans into making wishes but something is definitely not all good. More rules for the world as it is now.
