Another solid James Tynion IV horror series with another solid first issue. I genuinely have no clue how the other two issues of this story will be paced out, since these 3 issue miniseries’ really throw me for a loop, but not in a bad way. I just never know how fast the writer will divulge information to the reader. Not too much happens here, but Tynion’s good with natural dialogue and making you care about characters. I really dug the design for the monster as well, with it being way creepier Another solid James Tynion IV horror series with another solid first issue. A creepy opener with great dialogue as I come to expect from james Tynion. Really love the art of the "creature" in here too. Eager to see more of this.

This one has a lot of potential but this felt like a setup issue with not a lot of meat. The opening bar scene had some great dialogue. Then we see that not all is peachy with this family and then there is the closet. I am very interested to see where this goes. Will this be a true monster or something more psychological? A good setup that hopefully is delivered upon.

3.5 stars. So this family, husband, wife and young son, are getting ready to move away from the city. The young sone has become afraid of the closet. The parents chalk it up as typical young kid scared of the dark. Ummm, it’s a little bit more than that tho. Pretty creepy first issue.

I was really looking forward to this. Tynion has become one of my favorite writers and he does the creepy and weird so well. While this issue felt almost like a prologue, I still really liked it and it has me excited for #2.

Thom, his wife Maggie, and their son Jamie are packing up to move cross country for a fresh start. Thom is seen at a bar talking to a friend about moving, and how he was supposed to call a child psychiatrist for his son. You see Jamie says there’s something in his closet, but he’s kid and kids have wild imaginations. They’ll be gone tomorrow so the “monster” in the closet will be old news once they get to their new place, right? First off I’m really excited about this, I’ve been waiting for months for this to come out. I don’t want to judge it entirely yet since this is just the first issue. I’m eager to see where this goes but I’m also kind of disappointed already with how the “monster” (if you will) in the closet looks. I’m hoping it gets much darker and creepier as it goes on!

Premise is basic but the art is great.

So spook, much scare. Typical unoriginal bad marriage, but that’s not REALLY the focus here. The spooky closet the son sees monsters in is the focus. First issue is short but sweet. Ends on a great lil spooky note that makes me want the next issue.

Very short Very short, predictable and lame. Such a shame i hope the other issues are better. This one makes me feel like i missed the first part of something.
