And I am all but pleading for my muse to burn me alive. Holy. Effing. Mindf*ck. This book! What did I just read?! The devil is in the details, and the details are inside that devil’s head. And I’m about to throw the doors of hell wide open to let him roam free. A criminal profiler and a sociopath serial killer? This is the type of psychological thriller dark romance my dreams are made of and no one does it quite like Trisha Wolfe. I mean, if you know, you know. And if you don't know, read Born, Darkly immediately. But I digress. The abyss looked at me the day Kallum first laid eyes on me and, if I’m not careful, he’ll pull me right into the pitch-black void of his soul. This is a story in which you won't see up from down. It's so full of twists and turns that it leaves you reeling at the edge of your seat with a head of questions. Holy WOW! That is his sinful seduction. And my sin is the desire to be seduced. His evil calls to mine. On the hunt for a dangerous serial killer, Halen is desperate for answers. So desperate, that she'll request the assistance of an even more dangerous killer who she was responsible for putting behind bars six months ago. Kallum Locke is a dangerous sort of genius. This is a man whose darkness is a deep abyss full of secrets, but his allure is even deeper. And the further they get into the investigation, the deeper into his void he pulls Halen. Oh, god…” “I will make you see god for damn sure.” What I love about this story is how complex it was. This is not just a hunt for a serial killer, it's so much more. There's philosophy and the occult, and it's as fascinating as it is frustratingly confusing. I’m okay with being her sickness. I can even be her antidote. The way it's written reminded me a little of the movie Memento, and holy sh*t, I was so here for it. With every new detail that gets unearthed, you get deeper and deeper into this f*cked up story. And every single time you feel like you have it figured out, a new twist gets thrown in that has you questioning everything. I'm so desperate for the next book, I don't even know what to do with myself!! ARC courtesy of author in exchange for an honest review Find me on:

I've been waiting for Trish to push that publish button for Lovely Bad Things,  especially after reading the first three chapters. At this point everyone is aware anything this woman writes I'll read it in a heartbeat, no whatsoever questions asked. Hollow’s Row has a reputation for bad things. Don't doubt that one bit. I've said this once and here I'll say it again.Trisha's writing style is absolutely peculiar and gripping. The way this woman has the gift and talent of spinning a damn story, it can't be expressed into words. "My need for her is tangible. She’s carved into my goddamn flesh." The story is what my dark depraved heart has been craving for as long as I can remember. From demented and unhinged characters to riveting and compelling plot twists, everything is perfection. "But nothing in this universe is more connected than you are to me, Halen.” The story had me at the brink of ripping my hair out. The book is like a killer sudoku puzzle, where everything is there infront of you but you can't just seem to make the connection. It drives you crazy to the verge of insanity, where every now and then you have to stop and stare and the wall and go "what the...fuck..." Kallum locke and Halen St.James are the ultimate definition of crazy. Their chemistry so intoxicating it could burn people alive loll. “Before this is over, you’re going to beg me to fuck you right out of your mind.” Only problem? Having to wait until the next book in the series gets released. While I try not to lose my morality patiently, veryyy patiently sit and wait. 😍 *kicks rocks* *sulks in the room corner* All in all, if you want your mind to be fucked with, then this book is definitely your cup of tea. ~🌺"His evil calls to mine"🌺~

Are you ready to step into this insane world where a sociopath helps a criminal profiler hunt a serial killer? Halen is investigating a crime that would have most running for their lives, but she is determined to find the serial killer that has taunted the town, however, she needs help. Kallum Locke, a professor who is a dangerous genius is the perfect person to help her, except for one small issue. Halen is the reason he is sitting in an asylum for the criminally insane. Kallum is calculating, smart, and always one step ahead of the game, waiting for the right moment and when little Halen walks in, he knows he has her just where he wants her. Together they start to unravel the path of the serial killer, where philosophy and the occult are the lessons taught by Kallum, and Halen becomes his astute student. But is he playing a game and knows more than he is willing to share? And if so, has Halen worked it out? They can’t deny their attraction for one another, no matter how dark and demented the urges are, but once they cross that line, have they fallen into an unknown abyss? What an intense, mind-blowing, plot-twisting, swoon-worthy read. And to think, I thought I had worked it out, but then the author slams a whopping plot twist right at the end and my theory goes right out the window. The story is somewhat of a thriller entwined with origins of gruesome rituals, and in between a multifaceted love story. Nothing is as it seems and you are left speechless, but wanting to know more. Bring on book two, Ms. Wolfe.

I am lost somewhere in the dark maze of Lovely Bad Things by Trisha Wolfe. I am still processing the mindfck I just read and I will do so for a while. Utterly twisted and deviant. Beautifully dark and poetic. A masterpiece of psychological thriller romance from Trisha Wolfe. This is first book in the series and ends in cliffhanger. Criminal psychological profiler Halen St. James has been obsessively working to catch the Harbinger killer who dismembers his kills and leave a note with some philosophical message. She has been summoned to Hollow Row, a mysterious gothic small town with history of 33 citizens disappearing on a single day. Body parts are being discovered and the ritualistic nature of the scene makes her believe that only one person can help her. Philosophy professor Kallum Locke. The man she sent to a mental health institution after convicting of murder. Will this master psychopath help her? The games have just started. This story is essentially a thriller with elements of horror and psychology and philosophy conundrums. The violence and death has been brought to life in gory dark details. And nothing is what it seems to be. Halen has been struggling with her own grief and her sharp troubled mind found an escape in solving these bizarre cases. And then came Kallum. I don't know what to think of him. Sometimes he is charismatic and seductive. Sometimes he is downright scary and sinister. His mind is a beautifully complicated place. He is a master manipulator who is probably creating more puzzles rather than solving them. The prey and Hunter dynamics is going back and forth between them. Kallum is obsessed with Halen's paina and beauty. Halen cannot help but feel attracted to the twisted vicious mind of Kallum. This story goes deep in philosophical questions and weaves a complex web of old rituals, secret society, hidden knowledge and delusional sacrifices. And just when you think you have an answer, everything crumbles. Passion or sex plays an important role in every ancient ritual and that is also a force between Kallum and Halen. The author has a way with her words those are captivating, mesmerising and angsty. She sucks you in a deceptive, dangerous and sultry world. And my mind is blown away. I reviewed an early copy voluntarily

This is a psychological thriller at its best, with horror elements and philosophy hints. You'll definitely feel dumb reading this but what you'll learn will be so damn rewarding. The only reason this is not a full 5 Stars is because I'm selfish and greedy and I want more. I can't wait for the second book. This is my Fourth book of the author and with every book I learn striking things that Society and school have failed miserably to teach us. Wolfe knows how to do her research right, Criminology, Psychology as usual and with this book, Philosophy. She does have it all, I've said it before and I'll say it again this woman is a fucking genius. I recommend this book to all the brave- smart- cool kids out there 😎 check your trigger warnings , this is a very graphic book⚠️

This was not for me sadly. The beginning did start off good we have the whole criminal minds vibe but in my opinion it was filled with a lot of information that made my head hurt, information that while was directly in correlation with the story was too much, very heavy and weighted down the story this was more suspense than smut(romance), very dark filled with Rituals and the MMC mind is something else.. Nada. the entity of of my understanding abilities. Turns out are limited. Like I understand what she was doing, but why ? I mean leads should be leads but I never felt this much lost, like being blindfolded in a dark room in a bitch Black hole and being led by a blind person. Dramatic much? Maybe but dude !!!!!!!!!!! I would have appreciated trigger warnings " not for the stupidest of minds or those who are easily lose focus'". That would have been a save . This is not a romance, don't jump in thinking of Roses and sweet. ( But it is . Just not the main focus, Kallum and Halen own my soul and I I'm done for them ) And before you categorize me as cliché , I love books with academic references. Books that makes me question my whole being and existence, existentialism and all that . But this !?????? This made me think it was written by a scholar who was so delusional he gave lectures to an empty class . And then expected to be applauded .( Trisha, baby, ma'am !!! what's going on?. Obsessive . ❝ She was like gravity. The moon goddess herself controlling my tide. Then she became the spider. I thought it would be exciting given the premise but it ended up seeming to be "dark" for the sake of it and I didn't really understand. I couldn't tell if the reveal at the end meant they had a past - knowing e Seems like unpopular opinion but I felt that I didn't really understand this book. I thought it would be exciting given the premise but it ended up seeming to be "dark" for the sake of it and I didn't really understand. Characters: - Morally questionable characters who instead of being complex ended up being confusing - Relationship was also quite confusing (or is there even one to begin with besides just mutual attraction?) I couldn't tell if the reveal at the end meant they had a past - knowing each other through the Cambridge murder (?); or insta love (Not sure if you can call this love) or was it just Kallum being thirsty? Though his inner thoughts were also somewhat confusing - I thought for a whole 1/3 he enjoyed her pain and watching her suffer, like having dark thoughts about wanting to cut her or make her bleed? Maybe this is a form of twisted attraction that I don't understand - I still can't tell if he's insane/twisted or he's just misunderstood by Halen through unreliable narration. Maybe that's the whole point of the book but overall I'm still very confused. - I felt that it was quite wasted though, because the characters could have been better if developed in a complex way, instead of just, purely dark. Plot: - Not too sure what's happening and why things are happening, making the plot confusing instead of dark and dramatic - I think my confusion made me unable to appreciate the plot twist (I think that was what it was meant to be at the end? Can't be sure) - Random plot reveals like about Halen's past seemed very unrealistic. The car accident thing? How did kallum know about it - I think I frowned multiple times throughout the book because I was unsure what's happening - I was excited about a psychological thriller with a criminal assisting the solving of a crime! But towards the end I was wondering what was happening with the whole ritual thing. Is it actually just fantasy (??) How did Halen forget she was the one that killed the man in the Cambridge murder, is it real magic, or just some psychological thing? Very confused. I'm not even sure what category or genre you can classify this as, I'm not sure romance or psychological thriller really fit it. Maybe I'm wrong and this book was meant to be like this - kinda omninous and vague, but it wasn't for me.

Trisha Wolfe has once again delivered to us the mother of all mind fcks! This book will draw you in from page one, and you won't have a clue where the story is going to take you! But you're going to love Kallum and Halen! Say what?? You did NOT just say what I think you said!! What does THAT mean???" You know when you reach that part of the book, and suddenly you hear the creepy horror music playing in your head, and you just KNOW, things are about to get weird!! All of a sudden, everything you thought you knew, no longer exists, and the story is going in a completely different direction!! And suddenly it's 3 am, on a work night, and you're just getting to bed because you couldn't put the book down, and then you can't go to sleep because your mind is racing and you're trying to figure out what EXACTLY you just read, and what it all means! Yeah, I need book two right now!! Do yourself a favor, and read this book! You won't regret it! Two of my favorite quotes... “I knew your pain would taste sweet.”“You’re a monster,” I say. His tongue sweeps his lips, and the volatile intensity I glimpse there— the insatiable hunger— nearly levels me as his gaze drops to my mouth. “Whoever fights monsters should see to it they don’t become one,” he says, paraphrasing Nietzsche’s infamous line. "It’s the lovely bad things that steal into our thoughts in the middle of the night and tempt us across the line between good and evil. Those torturously beautiful sins that provoke our deepest, most deviant desires. It feeds us in the dark, stoking a frail flame into an inferno we can no longer resist. She is my flame. And I am all but pleading for my muse to burn me alive."

I particularly enjoyed Kallum’s POV, being privy to his insane mind was both exhilarating and scary.

Wow...can we say "unleash the crazy"...all together now... In my opinion, this author is best known for her off the rails, unique storytelling and in Lovely Bad Things, she's back with a vengeance. When you close the cover on this one, you'll be staring off into space for a bit, left with more questions than answers and shaking with anticipation to find out where all of this is going. I felt a little mired down by all the philosophy, but if you try not to let yourself get pulled under you'll get to the other side in awe. I am, in awe...the amount of research that went into this story is staggering. Kallum and Halen are intense, and honestly, that's not even a strong enough word...I had to keep reminding myself to breathe. I'm completely committed ... nothing is as it seems, and I'm anxiously awaiting the next installment of Hollow's Row.

Thank you to the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for the early review copy. Holy $#!+!!!! That was a WILD ride. It took me a little bit to get into it and get a feel for Halen and Kallum, but once I did I was HOOKED. The chemistry between the two isn't immediately obvious, but once it is I questioned whether it was chemistry or mutual obsession. The lines are blurred in so many ways in this book. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. To start, the cover of this book is beautiful and instantly drew me in. I am a fan of dark romance and psychological thrillers, so I knew I had to read this. While this book was enjoyable in the beginning, it fell through in the later parts. The idea of having someone who works on extremely strange and gruesome cases of murder, needing to recruit a supposed murderer to help them solve the case, is so intriguing. I absolutely loved that idea, but it didn't give what I was expecting it to give. To To start, the cover of this book is beautiful and instantly drew me in. The idea of having someone who works on extremely strange and gruesome cases of murder, needing to recruit a supposed murderer to help them solve the case, is so intriguing. I absolutely loved that idea, but it didn't give what I was expecting it to give. Too much inner monologue with flowy words and reciting of past philosophers when I wanted some action with solving a possible murder case of 32 people. The deeper thinking and bits of philosopher were interesting in the beginning, but then just dragged. The chemistry and intensity between the two main characters was interesting, but there were a lot of moments where I went "???". The plot twists towards the end didn't make a lot of sense, so it made me feel meh towards the relationship. I think I wanted more psychological thriller action, but instead got a philosophy lesson with a dash of dark romance. Not much happened other than the characters thinking about each other and going on extravagant philosophical tangents. I wanted more moments of the couple working together to solve the case, and action with finding the suspects and the victims. I wanted more of that team work and the building of their relationship. I wanted the thrill of finding out what happened to these 32 people that have gone missing, and why. And I have learned that some aspects of the romance were a no for me, but you can’t knock it till you try it. Also, the ending of the book felt very abrupt, and I hadn't even realized I had finished it when I did (I read it on my kindle). I believe there will be another book that will most likely expand on the characters (I mean they barely got anywhere with the case they were trying to solve), but I think I will pass on it. Other than the book just not being what I was expecting/wanted, which is a personal thing, the overall writing was good. By no means is this book bad, I just don't think it was for me. There were a lot of moments and lines in the story that I liked.

Creepy. Smart. And sexy AF! This story shook me, mind and body. ;) LBT is book porn for smart chicks. Be prepared to engage both your mind and your heart! Trisha weaves a superb tale, immersed in the occult, that will make your mind race, your body tingle and leave you begging for more..... literally. The writing is intelligent, compelling, and dangerously addicting. In true Wolfe fashion, she will leave you reeling, and just when you think you know, you'll find out you don't!
