I felt like the author had the core but not the outer layers. What was so so, the book started and dived right into a scene with Nate and Violet, which is not a bad thing. The problem is, the book starts as though it’s a continuation or we are missing a few chapters prior. What was missing was a backstory on both Violet and Nate. They continue to go at it from the first scene onwards, but I don’t know who they are. A bit of their family life is later revealed but doesn’t seem enough. I remember thinking, what makes Nate popular? I know he just screws anything that walks, but really, who is he? Same with Violet, what makes her who she is. The first 50% of the book was the bullying and the I hate you journey. I felt like it was the same scene different environment. It was very entertaining but after a while, it felt like the same bickering. What I liked, I like the savagery of Nate. The author did this well in regards to certain things he did towards Violet. Now, he is petty, because Nate is bullying Violet because she does not want to give him coochie ( haha) thus his cruel behavior of getting her to submit to him. Also, once the story reached a turning point and Nate mellows out, he could be sweet. Although I felt like their were components missing, I still liked the story and there were also a lot of scenes I liked as well. SEXUAL CHEMISTRY: I definitely have NO complaints with the sex scenes. Nate threw us that D and gave us a little Dominant side, which then gave us that controlling spicy sex. SECONDARY CHARACTERS: Violet had one friend and that’s Grace, loved her. Nate had a few, but it’s crazy that I found his grumpy roommate, Elijah to be the one that stands out to me. I believe there was a bit of spark there between he and Grace. I would read their story if there was one. OVERALL: A few hiccups for me, but still found myself liking Nate and Violet in some ways. TRIGGERS: Bullying and degrading ****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.

This a dark and gripping storyline for Nate and Violet. He wants her and is scared of his feelings. She wanted a safe haven, but got her worst nightmare. This was gritty, dramatic, suspenseful, intriguing, sizzling, traumatic and passionate. Please be aware of triggers. Captivating story with intresting characters. I don't even know where to start. This book was sooo good. I loved the push and pull between these characters. The obstacles, drama, and feelings shared between these two really come to life through these pages. You will not be disappointed with this book. Ivy Blakeswriting is superb and her characters human. I really did not like Nates attitude at the start of the book but was glad I persevered through the book as we see a more vulnerable side to Nate as he demonstrates a selfless, giving and protective side. While Violet, she's a hard worker. She work for her college. I get her mixed feelings in the bullying. For someone who have been in abusive relationship with their parents, I get why Violet so easy see Nate's cruelness as another form of caring. After all, he did need his whole focus to tormented her. But unfortunetly, like Nate's problem with his parents, Violets's also solve in unsatisfying manner. I can understand both are pestering problem and can't be solve easily. But for Violet and Nate, I would say they both need to be more mature for their relationship can be toxic. Overall, this book have the bully correct, but for the romance I need more to believe. Added point for the steamy scenes. They are dirty, rough and crazy sexy. Nate is bsolutely perfect for my book boyfriend on this part. The man can pound me seven days a week and I'll beg for every single nasty words from him every single time! That's how good the steamy scenes are! I know this is a spinoff series based off the blurb so maybe I will go back and read those to see if it gives any hints to these two. Violet had me cheering for her in the very first chapter, he told her to get on the bed and not only did she have a comeback... she slapped him. She didn't even seem to know this man, and he was twice as big as her and she still fought back! I liked that she had some fire in her and that she didn't just roll over. Nate was one of my favorite bullies, he was over the top and I loved it! The plot was pretty good but as stated above I felt like I was missing part of it. The pacing of they story was good, I felt like it held my attention and I was eager to keep reading. I am definitely intrigued enough by the story to check out past and future books from this author. Ivy is one of those humble authors who always accepts critics graciously and since her first book she has been growing and her stories are getting better and better. The truth is I love her work and I've become a fan of it. Since she has received several comments about the lack of 'real bullying' in her books, in this one she decided to go a few steps further into the bullying world, making Nate act like a mean, spoiled guy at the beginning. But the thing with bullying is that if it's too little it's not really bullying but if it's a bit too much it becomes harassment or even abuse. So I'm not really a huge fan of the first 50% of the book, because I think a bully always needs a background that might justify the way they act. With Nate he is just an entitled guy, used to getting his way, and I didn't get that vibe from the previous books. However, the second 50% of the book is a really strong story and the way the characters developed is fascinating. I loved Violet and her story, even when I was a bit confused at first, and Nate and her got a beautiful love story. I hope we get Elijah's story next, because his mysterious vibes got me wondering!

This was a strange one for me, in that I found myself really enjoying the overall book, but scenes throughout took me out of it and made me dislike it somewhat. I wish I could give more stars, because I liked the overall of the story, but there were a few things that took away my enjoyment. For starters, the characters’ behavior and thoughts often made no sense to me. Especially Violet was hard for me to relate to. The bullying was light and transitioned quickly to dub con interactions. Both Nate and Violet are insecure but display it very different ways. Nate takes to the level of cocky and one-upping, whereas Violet is more internal and is a doormat in most situations. She only fights back against Nate and just barely. When you take away their insecurities the two are rather a good match. What I liked about this book was how Violet couldn't help her feelings but recognised they were wrong and why they were wrong, which isn't often the case in other books I've read, making me feel sad for actual bullied victims. She didn't let Nate in until he tried to change and become a better person, so it was nice to see she didn't just fail to stop him all the time. The beginning of this bully-romance book had me super annoyed with Nate's behaviour, though eventually he did grow on me. For some reason, I really resonated with Violet's character, including with her worries and family. I think the author did a great job weaving the different characters into the lives of Nate and Violet. I wish this book was a tad longer, but that's just because I had so many reactions throughout and didn't want to stop! I hope there could be a continuation, maybe a novella? Violet is not a likeable h at all. Her relationship with her mom got red flags all over and it should've clued Nate in to run the f*ck away. Super cheesy and it almost felt like a 15 year old with a Prince Charming fantasy wrote the last few chapters. Nate and Violet have a rocky start after Violet refuses Nate’s advances and Nate’s need to succeed. Their relationship has a lot of push and pull and is full of angst. While I felt there seemed to be some depth or explanation lacking for some of the characters’ actions and motivations, the author does a great job building their relationship (especially after the halfway mark) and exploring their emotional states. I am curious to see if this series will continue, focusing on other characters! I re Nate and Violet have a rocky start after Violet refuses Nate’s advances and Nate’s need to succeed. Overall, I thought this had an exciting storyline. I did have some mixed feelings as I started the book. Nate just seemed like a spoiled brat that couldn't take no for an answer. Nate is the boy that knows what he wants and he will do all he can to get that. Violet is the girl he has set his eyes on. This one is really good and yes it is triggering so read the warnings before you pick this one. But it is so worth it and Ivy gives us a ride that makes you want more. Nate is a savage God that wants his little flower at any cost... This is so damn good. It is dark and amazing.

Not my type of story My review has nothing against this book. I wondered about reading it, but decided to give it a try. The book is well written, and the story is good. It’s college, characters are immature acting - but very appropriate for the story. I read a third of it, but it’s just not my type of book. If you enjoy the young adult, bullying type of book then this is for you.

Almost gave this one a 1 star but I actually liked the premise and the cnc/ betraying body situation but I just don't understand how their so called relationship started? I get that it was at a party but it confused the f out of me that Nate hated her at first site? Like the actual hatred this two have for each other confuses me. And Violet is always shouting at Nate in every encounter, annoyed af. I usually like this kind of book but with this one I was really disappointed. Violet is kind of looking into be bully what is annoying and Nathan is just an entitle clueless bully . The 2 characters are really shallow. And that really not make an interesting story I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Definitely buying this one!! First book to be read by the author Ivy Blake. This book was recommended in a book group that I am in, and boy am I glad I decided to read this immediately. I was captured from the very first page. You had the darkz twisted alpha and the fierce, tough herione. I will say they went toe to toe with each other. It was really good.
