Thank you so much for that Lauren Landish…. I liked the concept of the plot, but as for the comedy aspect of the book I didn’t find it very funny, but if I judge it by the the romance and how silly these two were , this book past by flying colors

DNF @ 67% This was a tough one for me. Here are my main issues: - It felt way too instalove for me. Or at least for the H because the h had feelings well before this page. It jumped to mega serious “ILY” professions from seemingly out of nowhere and pretty quick in their relationship. - It became way too mushy for me. For those of you that like the fluff — this will probably work for you! I’m just not a big fan (especially when I don’t experience the development of feelings or feel their connection). - The h blew-up publicly at the H for not defending her instantly with a work colleague, and I honestly found it immature and kind of obnoxious how she went about it. Especially because she was supposed to be this put together, mature chick. - I didn’t even think they had all that great sexual chemistry either. The scenes just felt meh tbh. And - there was way too much irrelevant stuff in the book. There seemed to be a ton that was focused on the h’s brother and her relationship with him, and it caused me to struggle to continue on (but I obviously did). There is also a lot about some corporate espionage/insider trading that seems like the author probably put it in because she had taken the time to research it. I appreciated that the author knew their stuff about these character’s professions, but I really don’t think the story needed so much of it. I even ended up skimming some and I don’t think I missed anything needed for the actual romance story. Overall, this is going on my DNF shelf after just not working for me. I tried, I really did! P.S. If anyone has any angsty goodness younger h/much older H stories (that aren’t novellas) — please let me know!

    Jeeves Reads Romance

Light and steamy Surprisingly, I was cool with this age gap romance. I'll be honest and say that I was a little skeptical when I realized it was a daughter's best friend romance, but these two were sweet (and sexy) together. Our heroine is nearly thirty, our hero is pushing fifty, and they've had years to get to know each other - just not in this way. Once the flip is switched, things are a go, and the romance was unique and interesting after that. I do think the book itself is needlessly long; Light and steamy Surprisingly, I was cool with this age gap romance. Our heroine is nearly thirty, our hero is pushing fifty, and they've had years to get to know each other - just not in this way. Once the flip is switched, things are a go, and the romance was unique and interesting after that. I do think the book itself is needlessly long; one hundred pages could've been eliminated and I would've liked it better. But the romance itself is very solid, and this makes a light and steamy addition to the series. The story follows Tiffany, a woman who has been crushing on her best friend's dad for years. She's never made it a secret to her bestie but neither one of them actually thought anything would come of it either... that is until one drunken night changes everything. Drunk at a bar by herself, Tiffany calls on Daniel to get her home safely, and the evening proves to be eye-opening. With her inhibitions loosened, Tiffany makes her feelings known, and it awakens something inside Daniel. He's never considered Tiffany an option, but now that he knows she's interested... he can't deny that he is too. But crossing the line with your daughter's best friend - and coworker - comes with all kinds of strings attached. If you're worried about the age gap, don't be. I think it really worked here. While Tiffany teases Daniel about what a hot dad he is, this never felt uncomfortable to me. Everything is out in the open, and the years that they've gotten to know each other just make the relationship feel that much richer. They've certainly got chemistry, and they felt right together. My main complaint with this one is that it just felt TOO long. There's a lot of story that has nothing to do with the romance, and I found myself skimming at times. These two have a quick, easy connection, so having the book be over 400 pages long felt completely unnecessary. But it's a low angst, high steam read that provides updates on some of our favorite couples while also feeling like a standalone.

    Sissy's Romance Book Review

The Truth by Lauren Landish is book Two in the Truth or Dare Series. This is the story of Tiffany Young and Daniel Stryker. I have read the previous book but felt this was a standalone book. Tiffany has always had a crush on her best friends father but has only been a fantasy of her with it coming true. In addition in their present day he is her boss now too. Daniel is a very series person who was attracted to Tiffany but think she felt the same way nor that he would act of his feelings. I’m obsessed with an age gap. And this is a good one! I have a TikTok about his book, but it doesn’t get too in depth about it. This is a best friend’s dad romance that ties to The Dare. They are interconnected stand-alones. I’m saying it - I prefer The Dare. That book knocked me on my tush with awesomeness. This one is really good, but not as* good. It’s also a ‘boss’ trope, but not a grumpy boss. There’s a bit of a friends to lovers vibe, but it’s not incredibly strong. He helps her out of a pin I’m obsessed with an age gap. There’s a bit of a friends to lovers vibe, but it’s not incredibly strong. He helps her out of a pinch and then she’s going for it. I wasn’t a big fan of that first moment with them. I don’t like that she got herself in a drunken -puking over everything- situation and he was just ‘okay no biggy’. But honestly, that probably has more to do with how unrealistic that seems in my personal experience. What I really loved was that they were grown ups about it all. She talked to her bestie before too much happened and diffused unnecessary friendship bombs. She never really had childish moments about things. The one time it could’ve been considered a childish tantrum he agreed that she had a reason for getting so upset. I liked that it was a book about grown ups that didn’t have a bunch of contrived tension. That said, I like tension 😂 and I didn’t feel like there was much of it. Which is probably what keeps it from being on the same level as The Dare. This is a spoiler that is for my own use in categorizing…it’s not remotely necessary for my review and I’m trying to keep it vague so don’t click the spoiler, okay? I promise it does nothing to change my review it’s just a note for me (view spoiler)[ not quite secret baby romance, but close (hide spoiler)] Also, there is one recent issue I’m having with Lauren Landish books that I’m wondering if anyone else has noticed. I feel like the last couple of books could’ve ended around 60%. I won’t lie, the ending 40% of this one was good, but the conflict moment at 60%ish could’ve been enough. I’m finding it a bit annoying that the books keep going after what could easily be ‘the big conflict’ gets resolved. It’s probably a personal preference issue, but has anyone else noticed it? Overall, do I recommend this book? Yes. If these tropes are your thing you will more than likely really enjoy this book. Do you have to read The Dare first? Nope. This can easily be read as a stand-alone. Do I recommend reading The Dare anyway? Yes by golly I do. Because it’s awesome. Happy reading unicorns!

Despite a few hiccups such as telling Elle and dealing with other people’s opinions of their relationship the two are happy but Tiffany ends up unexpectedly pregnant and is worried about Daniel’s reaction. Is was really looking forward to this book and it definitely did not disappoint. I thought it was great from beginning to end. Tiffany was a mature character who always focused on solving other’s problems and Daniel was a middle aged workaholic. They were a great fit together and it was nice that not only did Tiffany take care of him but he also took care of her. It was nice that Elle, Colton and their daughter Neve came to make an appearance. But the best part is that all the characters got the happily ever after that they deserved.

The Truth was a beautiful surprise. Daniel and Tiffany sneak up on you. More compelling than funny, Landish outshines her sense of humor with a heartwarming stroll into romance. A slow waltz that speaks to the emotional and leaves it mark on the heart.

A totally fun, totally lighthearted, completely feel good read. I haven’t read or seen many older men, younger women stories so this was a novelty for me. The more time Daniel spends with Tiffany the more he comes to realise they have so much in common. Tastefully written with some fab characters, and thankfully, for me, not too angsty, the plot line was fun, sexy and had a little drama in the background keeping me on my toes. I’ve never been disappointed with Lauren Landish’s writing and this is no exception. I was addicted from the first page, another five star read from me.

The Truth by Lauren Landish a five-star read that will reveal the truth of the story. Not only older, but also the CEO of the company she work’s for, and Tiffany’s best friend’s Dad! While that’s a bit of a yikes! kind of thing, it’s not the focus. Daniel’s character is gob-smacked at Tiffany’s interest which makes him all the more genuine to me. He’s a workaholic until Tiffany gives him a reason to try a little spontaneity. Daniel is very sexy in his polished, dominant bossy CEO way, just the way Tiffany likes him and comes to love him. The plot is as sweet as it is steamy; Daniel and Tiffany eventually jump into their relationship feet first. They get some help along the way too with a zaney cast of characters that know way more than one would ever suspect which adds to the entertaining comedy of this book. Overall, as you would expect, things move along swimmingly until it doesn’t but in his true dominant, bossy fashion, Daniel comes through delivering the truth. Because the theme of this couple and their beginning, middle and HEA, is The Truth. Go ahead and give this one a try, I dare you! ;) (If you happened to have read and enjoyed The Dare, you are going to love this one too.)

While on the phone with Elle gets Tiffany to promise to call her dad. Daniel comes to the rescue allowing Tiffany and Daniel to start their crazy journey. Daniel keeps Tiffany safe while drunk and she makes some pretty outrageous comments. They become friendly and have a meal or two together and Daniel starts to see Tiffany as a young woman not just Elle’s best friend. Tiffany is living her dream with Daniel even with their age difference that is natural between them and they enjoy teasing one another about it. Both Ricky and Billy are great characters that help bring this story to life! I enjoyed how they make their real life issues work for them and how Daniel deals with Tiffany’s sudden fainting and visit to the ER. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

If you read and loved The Dare as much as I did, then you have probably been not so patiently waiting for Tiffany and Daniel’s book. Both Tiffany and Daniel were great in the The Dare, but I loved getting to know Tiffany as more than just Elle’s best friend and Daniel as more than just a dad. Tiffany knows what she wants and has no problem going for it (it being Daniel in this case) and I could tell that she really matured since the first book, but that didn’t keep her from getting into some funny situations. Daniel is a serious, workaholic CEO, but also a caring softy underneath it all. They are the perfect match and luckily it doesn’t really take them long to figure that out. Lauren Landish always comes through with the steam, and this one was no different! A little suspense, a lot of laughs with great family and friends, and no angst, The Truth is the perfect Romcom!

Daniel gets hints about her feelings towards him, and is uncertain what to do about them. He begins to realize that Tiffany has become a mature, sexy woman, and an attraction develops. Meantime business problems occur, and Tiffany helps Daniel resolve the issue. An ugly encounter between a business associate causes problems, and Tiffany lets her emotions verbally come out, and separates from Daniel. Daniel apologizes and they reunite. A situation occurs, but Tiffany is scared to tell Daniel about a problem, until she has no choice, after a sudden hospitalization. They verbalize their love for each other, and obtain their HEA. I’ve read several books written by Lauren Landish, and have loved each one. The characters are always life-like, and the situations are so romantically beautiful. I always recommend her books.

All the years he has known Tiffany, he has always seen her just as Elle’s friend. And then that changes. I loved seeing their relationship grow. It all seemed real and organic, not forced. There were the expected real issues: the age gap, The fact that Tiffany is Daniel‘s daughter’s best friend, The fact that he is the CEO and she is an employee, the part where he was burned by his wife and never tried committing again. The struggles were real, and I appreciated that there wasn’t a contrived forced conflict before they got their HEA. I loved seeing the characters from The Dare again. Ricky and Billy are the best! It was awesome to see more of them, and as something more than “ The meatheads” or “Bebop and Rocksteady “. The Dare was definitely more side splitting laughter I think, but this was very entertaining and had its hilarious moments too. Definitely a worthy read!

I've been waiting for Daniel and Tiffany's book, and it does not disappoint!! Daniel is the ultimate Alpha protector, and the moment he sees Tiffany as something other than his daughter's best friends he has to have her...but not until he is carefully weighed all of his options and knows beyond the shadow of a doubt that she is the one for him. Tiffany, on the other hand, has known for years and wants nothing more than Daniel. Forever. When these two come together SPARKS ignite, your Kindle will melt, and you will be up until 3:00 a.m. devouring every word. Lauren is already an amazing storyteller, but couple that with the backstory these two share and the way she entwines their love, and you have a masterpiece. Five stars, add this to your TBR, take time off work, lock your door, do whatever it takes to find time and read this book TODAY!!!!

The Truth by Lauren Landish is a must read romance! I wish I could give this story more than five stars. The Truth has sky rocketed it’s way to my favorite book of 2021. Tiffany has had a crush on Elles Dad, Daniel since forever. She finally feels like it is her time to shoot her shot. And nothing is going to stop her from getting what she wants. Tiffany holds nothing back in her pursuit to get Daniel to see her. Daniel’s eyes have never seen Tiffany, like he sees her now. They really compliment each other and this is an entertaining read with a lot of emotions. I absolutely loved their story. Highly recommended!! A*R*C team read. And borrowed in KU.

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today because the fantastic Lauren Landish graced us with a follow up to one of my all-time favorite books, The Dare. Get ready for “The Truth”! In The Dare, we have Elle and Colton’s HEA. Elle is low-level employee at a massive corporation and Colton is at the top of the food chain. The only person higher in Fox Industries is her father, Daniel Stryker. Elle’s best friend and co-worker, Tiffany, has always had a thing for Elle’s silver-fox of a single father, Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today because the fantastic Lauren Landish graced us with a follow up to one of my all-time favorite books, The Dare. The only person higher in Fox Industries is her father, Daniel Stryker. Elle’s best friend and co-worker, Tiffany, has always had a thing for Elle’s silver-fox of a single father, and hilariously likes to tease her bestie about trapping “Daddy”. Following Elle and Colton moving to London, Daniel is left lonely without his daughter, and Tiffany is without her wing-woman. One drunken emergency leads to Tiffany calling Daniel for help, and the rest is history. “As selfish as it sounds, I want someone to take care of me.” (Pg. 267) Get ready for corporate espionage, a doggy daycare mishap, some serious honey potting, and a big O.M.G. twist that will have your Kindle in a death-grip as you read into the wee hours of the morning. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this book! It was snort-laugh hilarious and packed with so much feelsy goodness I DARE you not to swoon! 10/10 Cheesy Peanut Butter Crackers! (Does anyone else call them “Nabs” or is that just a southern thing?) XOXO, -Lexi | The Binge Read Babes-

After seeing bestfriends Elle and Tiff together, I knew Tiffany's story would be an interesting one. Tiffany has been crushing on her best friend Elle's dad, Daniel Stryker for years, but has never made a move. He is the CEO of Fox industries and a workaholic. Daniel has never looked at Tiffany as anything other than his daughter's best friend. However, when sparks start to ignite between these two, he sees her as the woman she has now become and no matter the age difference, the heart wants wha After seeing bestfriends Elle and Tiff together, I knew Tiffany's story would be an interesting one. Tiffany and Elle have been best friends for what seems like forever. They went to school together, worked at Fox Industries together and spent many a night partying together. Over the years they've gotten themselves into and out of a lot of sticky situations. With Elle now in London and her brother Ace in a serious relationship, Tiffany has no one to call when she finds herself in need of assistance. Daniel Stryker, CEO of Fox Industries and current star of Tiffany's dreams, not to mention Elle's father, receives a call from Tiffany for help. That night seems to have changed everything. Tiffany has always had a crush on Daniel. Daniel sees himself as the best friend's dad, older by a lot according to Daniel, not so much older if you ask Tiffany. Daniel is also her boss. Daniel is determined to fight the attraction he can no longer deny. Tiffany is determined too and she's got a lot more fight in her than Daniel could ever possibly resist. The character conversations, primary as well as secondary, are deep and I find myself anticipating the direction in which they are heading. I COULD NOT GET ENOUGH OF TIFF & DANIEL! GREAT STORY, AMAZING CHARACTERS AND A FANTASTIC READ!!! YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE THIS BOOK!!!

A crush! She's had a crush on her best friend's dad since they first met. She knows that, to him, she's just Elle's best friend and partner in crime. He's actually always thought that Elle was lucky to have Tiffany by her side, since she was daring, but quick witted, undoubtedly keeping Elle out of any serious trouble. Tiffany even sees Mr. Stryker every day, being the corporation's front desk and administration manager. Yep, sort of a blessing and a curse. She dreams of him in all kinds of ways, A crush! The Truth? I freaking loved this book. Tiffany and her internal monologue just cracked me up. She told Elle time and time again, first just to tease her, but, really, Tiffany wanted Daniel, Elle's father for so long and she finally got a chance to make a move. This was such a great read. Soooo good I was skidding at first just by the books summary. Best friends dad being the focus whom is also much older. However it was so flawlessly written to point out the age difference but ended up giving a reasonable description of why they were meant to be together. I love the story line and the random details that just make the story. Book caught my attention right at the beginning, not once did I get bored. Must read!

Lighthearted and laugh out loud funny Great read for when you need something fun, uplifting, and hilarious to read. This was an entertaining read, full of steam, witty banter, and lots of laughs. Virtually zero angst and very minimal hiccups on the way to the couple's HEA. A couple unexpected twists and turns add depth, and the epilogue was a great peek into the not so distant future for the couple. This book was detailed, quite intriguing, funny, loving, a bit overly dramatic in the inner musing department though. An older and completely off limits man, a very younger and not so invisible younger women. Family, friends and colleagues hold on to you knickers because this couple will knock your clothes' off. A surprise affair, secrets, unplanned love that leads to heartache and complications, but we know this has to have a happily ever after, it just takes a while to get there. O.M.G!!! I didn't think The Dare could be topped by Ms. Landish, but she just did. The banter ... hilarious ... I laughed until I cried. The steam ... OH, MY! Amazing!!! Lauren Landish doesn’t disappoint. After reading The Dare, you know there’s more of a story for Tiffany and her huge crush on Elle’s dad, Daniel. After having a drink with the girls after work, Tiffany finds herself in need of a rescue and calls Daniel. A few drunken truths later and he’s finally seeing her in a new light. Watching the two of them get to know each other as more than Elle’s best friend and Elle’s dad, was amazing. Seeing their love for each other grow was beautiful. Tif Amazing!!!
