Daredevil by Chip Zdarsky is awesome. Chip Zdarsky’s Daredevil run has been consistently top-tier (only faltering when supernatural elements that clash with the run like the King in Black tie-in). This event is a celebration of his hard work and efforts in his Daredevil run, and I highly recommend reading his run. This is excellently written and executed. It has all of the strengths from Chip Zdarsky’s Daredevil run without any of its flaws. The character study and development of Daredevil and o Daredevil by Chip Zdarsky is awesome. The grey theme of politics and vigilantism is the focal point and even though this theme has been covered on numerous occasions in superhero comics; it’s delivered in a very cinematic style with pristine polish. Also the art is incredible, whether that’s to show interesting action to the weight of emotions felt by the characters. All in all, Daredevil by Chip Zdarsky and this event is a must-read comic.

May be my favorite Marvel Event. At least for the main story.

4,5* Even if I don’t approve all of Zdarsky’s choices for his run on DD- the Stromwyns and the unimaginable level of Police corruption in the first volumes were stretching it too obviously and too far- but the global idea leading to this has been consistently good. Zdarsky deftly manages the plot with moral issues, political ones and of course brutal and bloody urban fights. The dark conclusion is well done too, opening up future storylines coming out. The way he handled the Typhoid Mary/Fisk relation has been excellent and he got the Kingpin’s voice just right, akin to Miller or Brubaker in their time. Good work on DD- though I’ll admit his catholic guilt complex was sometimes overplayed- and Elektra too. Ms Natchios stole the show more than once, and for a reason! I can’t praise Marco Checchetto's work enough. His drawings and storytelling are top-notch

Marvel crossover events like this can tend to be a little messy, but I think the Devil's Reign did a really good job of weaving all of these stories together. Matt and Elektra really shine in this run and I've enjoyed following their story from Zdarsky's 2019 run, to Woman Without Fear, to the ending of Devil's Reign. Elektra in particular has shown a lot of growth as a character (this is the first time I've really seen her make an effort to meet Matt halfway) and I am hoping that she continues Marvel crossover events like this can tend to be a little messy, but I think the Devil's Reign did a really good job of weaving all of these stories together. Obsessed with this!! It's been building up to this for years apparently but here we are. Wilson Fisk, Mayor of New York has vowed to arrest all superheroes from his city. He has his team of villains for hire, the Thunderbolts, working with police to capture them. When they have an idea to make Luke Cage mayor, Fisk decides to use the Purple Man to control everyone. Hmmm love a crossover. But for real this was so much fun. I don't normally like events and all their tie-ins (and I still am not goin Obsessed with this!! Hmmm love a crossover. But for real this was so much fun. I don't normally like events and all their tie-ins (and I still am not going to read all the random tie-ins lol), but this event isn't as massive as ones in the past and it was pretty easy to follow, especially coming straight from Chip Zdarsky's Daredevil run where this was all set up. The entire thing wasn't really THAT original: superheroes bad, we must ban BUT it was still a good plotline for me. It wasn't too insane and it was all focused in one city with a certain amount of New York superheroes. Plus I loved a lot of the characters involved. But I didn't know who tf some of these characters that showed up were though like we have Spider-man and then we have another Spider-man? And then some kid in a suit? I recognize most of them but those two I'm like whomst. Moon Knight should have gotten more screentime though smh his tie-in issue was cool but also completely unnecessary when he doesn't get to do much. I like that he even got a tie-in but I just wanted to see more of him in the team up. Same for the Winter Soldier's tie-in because he isn't seen outside of it. Also I wish there was more Elektra because idk where she went until she suddenly appeared at the end to kick ass. Slay though. The team up fight was really cool and honestly the whole thing felt like it would be a great movie, it was all very cinematic. The final boss fight reminded me of Daredevil vs Fisk that happened on season 3 of the show and that spoke to me. I really like how he writes Daredevil and I love that the art the entire time was Marco Checcetto. His art is beyond gorgeous and I'll never get over it. The way he draws people is so *chef's kiss* like everyone is so beautiful and the action is so crisp and I love looking at it.

Plot point 2 after Fisk realizes he no longer knows daredevils secret identity he goes to extensive lengths to reacquire the knowledge, and ending up in one of the worst, lazy ways. And he even says “born again” which is a reference to daredevil born again, so zdarsky is comparing his crossover to one of the best daredevil stories of all time, all while writing one of the worst crossovers I’ve ever read. The shining star in this pile of garbage is Marco chechetto’s art, it is beautiful as always. 1 disappointment of 5

Pretty good for an event! An abundance of events was what made me quit reading Marvel comics for a bit so I am pretty apprehensive about getting into any now. But this was an engaging read and Checcetto’s art is excellent as always.

4 It was fine. But not as good as the regular, non-event Daredevil run. I was reminded a bit of the last Game of Thrones season. Plot replaced what made it great: character development. Art was excellent.

A fitting capstone to Zdarsky's run. While this probably did not need to be a line-wide crossover (the alternate Doctor Octopi were a bit excessive) the core story of Kingpin's descent into authoritarianism is an excellent character study. English/Spanish review: This is what happens if Civil War and Dark Reign had a child. There's nothing new or incredible about this but I'll give this a four since it wasn't a total torture as Marvel events have been for the last years. Sorry I didn't read his series but that was weird. Not bad though, rest of it was fine. The comics are following the series/movies and it shows. Matt/Elektra relationship is similar to the one they have on the series (tho I hate her character there) and cameos like Moon Knight shows and intent about correlating boy. If it doesn't affect the series on a bad way I'm in with it,it'll end getting more ppl in comics so it's good. Events don't have the same feeling as before though. Civil War to me is THE BEST Marvel event and it triggered disasters with characters like Spider-Man or Iron Man but it had a soul. This event is good but I don't feel things in my stomach as I did with events before. Hope we're on the way of getting to great events and not anymore repeated stuff. Good read.

Collects Devil's Reign (2021) issues #1-6 and Devil's Reign Omega #1 This event was really amazing. I want to say that it was "surprisingly good," but I probably shouldn't use the word "surprisingly" because Chip Zdarsky is known for his high quality comics. The weird thing about this is, I would have 100% skipped this event if it didn't feature the Ben Reilly Spider-Man. I collect all of Ben Reilly's appearances, so I decided to get this miniseries. Appreciating this miniseries highly relies on readers having a strong familiarity with Zdarsky's "Daredevil" run. It almost feels like these should have just been issues of that series. Every issue of this collection was good.

Logické a veľmi kvalitné vyústenie runu Chipa Zdarskeho. Kingpin ide ako parný valec a jediný, kto ho môže zastaviť je Daredevil. As the climax to the first few years of Zdarsky’s thus far fantastic Daredevil run, and a setup for the years to come, this is all kinds of satisfying. Marvel’s incessant need to turn everything into an “event” robs this arc of some of its cohesion and momentum— it’s hard to keep track of the full scope of a story when it’s spread piecemeal across 5+ different series — but the end result is still a new defining chapter in the Daredevil canon.

I always get really excited about runs that include several characters interacting together. There's a reason I lean towards the team-oriented comics over individual features. I just love seeing them use each others' strengths and combining their talents. This is an interesting run that's going to be stretched across so many different characters' lines, and I was excited to see where it lead. Pretty cool book. I think it helped I finished this right after I finished Daredevil s1, but this comic overall was just pretty great. Fisk and Matt carried this book. I think their dynamic was fantastic. This gets me excited to read more Daredevil. But the first 3 issues were a bit of a disappointment. Overall… High 9.2

Having not read any of Zdarsky’s work on Daredevil, I wasn’t sure what to expect with this. Even though it’s basically a Civil War redux, I still found it engaging. Zdarsky has a clear vision of these characters and Checcetto’s art is top notch throughout.
