Another terrific western adventure by Austin Grayson who once again brings a cast of strong characters. He weaves an action packed story filled with twists , turns and suspense as well as the romance. It's well written, moves fluidly and I enjoyed reading. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Excellent and clean. An exciting adventure, basically smuggling 900 cattle from the US into Mexico to sell to the French Emperor Macmillan. The French are hated by the Mexican Army, plus dangers of Indians, gangs, Comancheros, and evan American gangs at the border. The pay off would be big, if they can get past all those that do not want them to succeed. Then they have to get back to the U.S. with a lot of cash. What could go wrong? Would they live?

Three ranchers, two men and a woman, and their six drovers and a cook, decide to sell their cattle to Maximillian in Monterey. How do they get from Texas to Monterey to sell 900 steers at approx. $100 a head, through a country fighting the French and its ruler Maximillian, though outlaws and Comancheros, and the Yanqui Indians, the fiercest of all the Native Americans? Good story!
