This book made me laugh out loud on almost every page. The inside jokes & subtle easter eggs were hilarious. It also made me tear up a bit at the message from Ollie to Josh when he apologizes for writing an autobiography for him. Jolly are one of funniest people i know and this book definitely lives upto it.

I laughed so hard tears ran down my leg! Anyone that knows Jolly or The Korean Englishman will immediately recognize Ollie’s humor throughout the book. All I could hear every time I stopped to laugh was Josh laughing and saying ‘you’re an idiot’ to Ollie. I love British humor and I love these young men. These young men have made this pandemic less depressing for this single mom and I appreciate it so very much. Well worth the cost of the kindle version.

Not only does the plot keep you hooked, the astounding language and character of each chapter is groundbreaking. I dare even say that Josh is the best author of this century, and to learn about his life through his own words, and definitely not Ollie’s, feels like a gift from the gods. My neck brace almost shattered from how shockingly amazing this book is and I admit I now have a strong desire to go on a road trip across the U-Stat and have a carrot cake smashed in my face. And oh how Legamusaurus Rex grew on me as a character! I hated him in the beginning, and I just wanted Muncho to live in peace with Josh and Ollie forever. BUT! That organic dinosaur definitely softens up towards the end of the book and I can see myself in him. What a profoundly important character. I love how Rex is bitter about no one noticing that he first suggested the name “Jolly” in chapter 17! It is a travesty! REX DESERVES BETTER! Anyway, this book is a literary masterpiece. I bought the digital version but now I need the paperback in my bookcase.

Another example of just how good of a friend Ollie is and how brilliant his mind actually is. I genuinely loved the book, I laughed out loud at some parts and shook my head at some, but that's just what one does when Ollie is involved. Happy birthday Josh! This book was a treat not only for him but for us jolly beans as well. Hope you both stay safe and stay happy❤️ Another example of just how good of a friend Ollie is and how brilliant his mind actually is. Well, thank goodness I was wearing a neck brace. I LOVE this so much!!! I finished the book in a day and giggled like a young girl at many points. It felt very much like I was half-asleep, drifting in and out of reality and the dream. What an experience. As a fan slash jollybean, it was a joy to find the easter eggs and catch the inside jokes. (The harry potter and star wars references were the cherries on top.) Ollie's vocab is extensive and has a knack for describing things vividly with wit. that was breathtaking. absolutely sublime. superb. spectacular. best autobiography i have ever read about a carrot man. it's the most bromantic present a dude can give to his platonic husband. behind the teasing, exaggerated, jokey prose (which was EXCELLENT) is a whole lot of love and respect for the subject of this book. in purchasing this book, i am also so honoured to have helped fund a new statue in new zealand's ohakune national park, land of carrots, carrotland. I’m on chapter two and I realised that I’m reading in Ollie’s voice in my head lol. So far not bad. With a cup of caffe latte and a few pastries, I’m enjoying this book so far

I mean... It's a corker! It's the right length for this sort of paro-, ahem, totally factually accurate autobiography by Ol-Josh. There is wit wittingly inserted in appropriate places, there are many vertically elongated tales, there are puns galore and there are even sweet moments thrown in for heartwarming completeness. As a long-time Jollybean it was lovely to do my bit for a good cause in their name (although perhaps quirky cause is the better!). Thanks for a good chuckle! I mean... It's a corker! This book takes some explanation... Josh Carrott is a YouTuber who, with his best friend Ollie, runs the channels KoreanEnglishman (영국남자) and JOLLY. Its obviously not meant to be serious, and Ollie's humour is apparent throughout. It gave me a few good giggles. Recommended for fans of their YouTube channels, but don't expect a literary masterpiece.

What a jolly book. I giggled and laughed all over the place. It's awesomely ludicrous. Could I combine those two words in one sentece? 🤣 Once Upon a Time in Carrotland is a wondrous tale of Josh Carrott's journey (accompanied by his imaginary talking-carrot friend, Muncho) being a Youtube star and, most importantly, meeting his best friend-like-wife forever, Ollie--such a fine and genius and smart lad. Oh, and his wife later. It's full of unbelievable fun adventures, I cannot differentiate which ones are fiction and which ones are real—it's an autobiography though so it must be real. I really want to say cool things about this book so a lot more people would read it. But I guess a lot of jokes will be funnier if you've watched their videos and love their content. Anyhow, it's written nicely—especially after you've got the context. The not so subtle ripoff of popular cultures but need to be carefully avoid due to copyright issue, the ongoing miss-placed tourist spot jokes, the puns, the on going Josh's love towards Ollie, it's so great—and you can trace Ollie all over it. I love how the story tell us on Ollie's super importance in Josh's life but since it's Josh's biography we only find Ollie exists cooly in the background. Good job, Ollie—I'm sorry I mean Good job, Josh.  Oh God, I'm so 'receh'—I don't know the equivalent of that in English. A joke so basic yet still be funny since the standard is also low? Anyhow, with this I think I can claim myself as a proud Jollybean and wish I can visit the statue when it’s erected. 🤣 I really want to get the paperback but the shipping to Indonesia is too expensive. 😌*sigh*

I don’t know if I'm the first brazilian to buy the book, but, nevertheless, I congratulate myself as if I was. As soon as I watched the video, I was sure my next reading would be the biggest masterpiece ever known to men. And after that, I would read this book. It’s honestly on par with the aforementioned, with Ollie’s (I mean… Josh’s) humour brilliantly appearing at each chapter. I feel honoured to be a part of the Jolly family and am really happy to have known more deeply your great friendship. Jenny and Andy, you guys are amazing! It was a story filled with hope, adventure, romance and action. Loved reading it and i’m totally excited to seeing the statue in the Ohakune Carrot Park! Love from Brazil.

As a fan, this would have been 5 stars. I absolutely loved it. Ollie's special brand of humour, the little hidden jokes and references, and the stories and little peek into their lives-- I giggled my way through the book, thoroughly enjoying it. But I do feel I also have to give a review from the perspective of someone who has never seen Jolly, just to be fair. To be honest, the writing seemed a little clunky at the start, though it picks up nicely and smoothens out soon enough. The book seemed As a fan, this would have been 5 stars. I absolutely loved it. A fun book for fans of the Korean Englishman/Jolly YouTube channels but lacking in mass appeal (though in fairness how often are people going to pick up an autobiography for a person they don’t know & have never heard of??) There were some good ideas within it though, and I would love to see the trio (Ollie, Jenny & Andy) try their hand at children’s literature - I think their humour would really work for books aimed at 10 year olds. Which is not intended as an insult at all - the humour isn’t immature in this at all, I just think they would do really well as competitors of someone like David Walliams for instance and I’m willing they get the opportunity & a decent editor because I think they could create something really great outside of the more insular, silly YouTube bio bubble.

This book is so stupid you wouldn't expect it to be actually good but it is somehow?? I wasn't expecting a masterpiece but I have to say I was surprised at how much I actually enjoy reading this, the wittiness and also linguistic sense of the jokes in this book are actually good haha. Of course the story in itself is a joke, this entire book is but it's super fun to read and I definitely don't regret buying it. Maybe even worth a reread haha. As soon as this book was released, I bought it. Oh my goodness, it was hilarious. Now Jollybeans UNITE! This book needs a Goodreads award! However, in all seriousness, it essential to note that this book is extraordinary. In many ways, that's how it's meant to be, a very abstract form of written comedy. For the common reader, it would be completely insane, and that’s what makes me like it more as a fan of the Korean Englishman channel. Well done, Ollie and team; this book was fun. Bought this book instantly when the video was out. That's the least I can do as a JOLLY bean. And boy this book was such jolly to read! It gave me giggles all the way. The inside jokes are kept in glass boxes - you may not be in on them but you’ll understand them. I laughed out loud reading this, the rumour is random and confident. Obviously I’m a huge fan of Ollie Kendall so I knew I’d love this one, but I like to think that those poor souls deprived of Jolly would like it too.

Life changing. Unforgettable. It was an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish of the journey of Josh and his little carrot sidekick Muncho (not to mention the later appearance of his fabulous first wife Ollie). Would highly recommend
