Hmmmm. Where do I start?... this felt very Lucien 2.0... and the movie Pretty Woman had a baby.. and the book baby was Remington . Remington and Henri had scorching chemistry...which probably saved it from a DNF. Some of the dialogue was a bit cheesy or trying to hard but I still think this series might be good. The audiobooks might be better. Michael Dean will put his sexy spin on the characters. I’ll just wait for those instead of reading the rest of these 🤔🤔

This was the first book in a new series that spins off from the Marchesi and Vigilance series. Then they start to get to know each other more and spend time together outside the bedroom. Remy is a sweetheart underneath his mobster exterior and he treats Henri like a prince!  Their time together was really sweet with a nice HEA!   While I enjoyed meeting a new mobster family, a lot of this book felt repetitive to me from the previous two series. I really liked Lance and Corbin and am excited to get both their stories and hoping for something a little different to make them stand out.

Henry definitely took a brave and bold step when he did what he did, and it was even braver to approach Remington. I thought that he was just such a nice guy, and he was definitely going to do what he needed to. Remington was a nice guy, for a mobster, at least. He's under a lot of pressure, and I can understand why he feels like he's under so much pressure. Henry is so good for him, though. And the monkey? Fairy tales This book hit me with some awesome Pretty Woman vibes. Of course these vibes also included a mafia twist and is set in New Orleans but what’s not to love about any of that? I love the Theriot family. They know how to put family first and love with all they have. Remy, who definitely has giving orders down pat but is so fun to witness, is no exception. He’s understandably taken with sweet, shy Henri from the first, who’s a balm and brings calm to Remy’s chaotic life. I wanted to keep him.” *fans self* They burned through the pages and it was yummy. I loved the action and the danger but it’s the softness and openness these two have and how the whole world disappears for them that made my heart full. So bring on the King cake and let the good times continue!

A mobster/rent boy romance with a Pretty Woman vibe and a dash of the Sopranos without the homophobia - lol! This was hokey, cheesy and derivative but very cute. Loved Lance and Corbin! I did wonder about the subpar editing, though. This author has written several books and I would have thought she'd have top of the line editing. On page 4, there is a line "It was supposed to be a recognizance mission only." What!? Funnily enough there is a line later in the book that uses the correct word "reconnaisance." There are a couple of wrong tense usage boo-boos. The good guy mobsters (Remy and his family) and the baddie mobsters (the Landrys) engage in a murky fight over guns that was not entirely clear. That was fine, though. Lots of telling vs showing, too. I think Henri muses at least 100 times over how Remy just wants to use him and doesn't care about him. So if you want a palate cleanser little mobster book that is a quick read, try this out. I loved the brothers so much that I am tempted to read the next book about Corbin.

Yet another 5⭐ for Silvia Almost every time I read one of Silvia Violet's books I want to give it more stars than I have to give. Remington and Henri are hot as fire and sweet as any tea you're likely to find in New Orleans. I love how protective of each other they are, even when they're not particularly happy with each other at that moment. It's a fantastic start to the Theriot series. This series, The Theriot Family, follows on the heels of Vigilance. You can read each series as a standalone unit. However, within each series, you should read the books sequentially. I suspect The Theriot Family series will follow that format as well, as it follows sequentially after the end of Xavier (with some slight overlap). Remington doesn’t contain spoilers for the prior books so you can read it as a standalone if you so choose. Remington can be overarchingly generalized as a less romantic version of Pretty Woman, right down to the pickup in the fancy car (although Remington’s car situation is markedly different from that of PW‘s Edward), and the fancy shopping venture in preparation for a critical business-related, high-class dinner (here with the head of Vigilance, Xavier aka “X”). The book bears great similarity to the preceding books in this universe. The love between the male leads comes on ridiculously fast and lacks meaningful connection. While I liked both Remington and Henri (particularly adorable, sweet Henri), I just could not understand how they fit together. Ms. Violet also invokes her usual direct storytelling here. She gets right to the sex, action, and intrigue, plunging you into a swiftly moving story right from the start. Remington, also like the prior books, contains a lot of hot and heavy sex. Here, though, I found the sex to be overbearing and bordering on dubcon. Ms. Violet attempts to neatly dismiss that impression with Henri’s (implausible) inner monologuing. However, I found it difficult to believe that Remington’s sexually harsh, overbearing treatment turned Henri on. While many of the prior books focus on control, the characters were more similarly situated. At the very least, the desire to submit was more obvious and believable. Here, though, the power imbalance was too great to be overcome, in my opinion. As I’ve noted previously, the books in these series provide a specific kind of outlet: If you want a book that grabs you from the get-go and doesn’t relinquish its grasp until the end, this will fit the bill. However, this also presumes that you don’t mind a lack of character development or chemistry. That being said, also like the prior books, you’ll get great action, interesting if unsurprising twists and turns, and some suspense thrown in for good measure. All of this without being too angsty or dark, even though our protagonist, Remington, and his mafia family are morally ambiguous characters. For all of those factors, you may find this book enjoyable. Personally, Remington didn’t work so well for me. Nevertheless, I’m still invested in this universe and interested to see what happens with Remington’s brother Corbin in Book Two. *Originally published on LoveBytesReviews.com

I haven't always loved the books in the Marchesi Universe, but Remington and Henri's romance was amazing!  I'll be honest and say that I don't remember Remington from any of the previous books in this universe, but that didn't matter at all for my enjoyment of this story. This book worked remarkably well as a standalone, and I had so much fun getting to know a new family dynamic. Remington was clearly the "take charge" brother of the Theriot family, and it was exciting to see how he organized his men to fight his enemies and keep everyone safe. This book began right in the middle of one particularly dangerous situation, but it was easy for me to keep up with what was going on and get invested in the safety of Remi, his brothers, and Henri. Though Remington's instantaneous attraction to Henri felt a tiny bit unbelievable, I quickly forgot all about that when the two of them made it to bed together. This romance spoiled me with plenty of deliciously heated moments with an added dose of D/s that made the connection between Henri and Remi feel out-of-this-world explosive. A night of debauchery has never been so incredibly intoxicating before, and the fact that Henri was a virgin beforehand only made it hotter. The way Remi took control of their pleasure to send Henri into uncharted bliss was everything I didn't know I needed.  Even when Remi tried to keep things strictly business between him and Henri, I could already see the possessive side of him clamouring to keep Henri forever. Their connection was surprisingly sweet after such a steamy beginning, and I genuinely loved the quieter moments Henri and Remi spent together. Whether it was curling up and reading together, shopping for clothes, or having long conversations over a shared meal, these men developed a deep emotional intimacy early on that convinced me of their love before they even said the words. Of course these two took ages to come around to their feelings, but with so much else going on in the story I can understand why it was easy to push big emotional revelations to the side. Speaking of the overall storyline, I was really captivated by the way things were going with the Landry brothers..... until the last few chapters. It kinda felt like the author ran out of steam at the end, and what could have been a really emotionally devastating torture and rescue mission turned into a few short paragraphs that glossed over all that angst I was preparing myself for. In a book where the romance played out in such wonderful detail, it did surprise me to see such an impartial account of a critical moment in the story. I couldn't stay too upset about it when Henri and Remi got the happily ever after of their dreams, but in my opinion it was a big missed opportunity. Either way, I'm definitely going to be reading the rest of the books in this series and I can't wait to see where Corbin's adventure will lead next! **I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

For Remington, it is instant attraction and he wants to repay Henri for his assistance by keeping him for a short amount of time, offering him protection and money he needs to start fresh. Remi is part of an old family in New Orleans and all of their deals aren’t always above board, this is where the action comes in as both Remi and Henri skate their attraction and Remi tries to keep Henri from the seedier side of his life…only complicating things further by doing so. This M/M mafia romance was a quick read for me, and it had all of the feels. Remi’s position in the family is that of older brother, protector of his family and the one who is going to step up when his father steps down. His life is a precarious balancing act and Henri (in the best way possible), seems to upset that and makes Remi think about the future. Henri’s story is heart-breaking, we see his vulnerability as well as him wanting his own ‘happily ever after’. I enjoyed the interplay between himself and Remi and from the get-go, they were just a sweet and sexy couple to read about. I also enjoyed the scenes where the characters were walking around New Orleans as it brought some great memories back for me and just made the story that little bit more enchanting. Overall, this was a sweet read with a HEA and some steamy scenes. More of my reviews can be found on my blog: http://thehotmesslibrary.blogspot.com

I’m glad we’re not finished with this world yet. This time we get a spin off based on the Theriot Family in New Orleans, and first up is the eldest son, Remington, as he takes over the reigns from his father. He’s instantly attracted to Henri - the sweet, innocent rent boy who approaches him after a slight hiccup with his car. Remington takes what he wants, and what he wants is Henri. To be his first, to dominate him, and to be able to do anything he wants with his sweet boy for two whole weeks. I’m glad we’re not finished with this world yet. There is a definite Pretty Woman vibe to their story, and I loved watching them lose their hearts to each other. Remington takes care of Henri so well: he’s both rough and tender, as well as passionate, adoring, and kind-hearted. It may take him a while to realise that he’s allowed to want Henri by his side forever. But when he does, he fights hard to win him back and promise him the world. A wonderful introduction to the Theriot Family - I can’t wait for the next one!

Great start to a new spin-off series from the Marchesi/Vigilance families. This book is about the eldest Theriot son, Remington and takes place in New Orleans. Remington by author Silvia Violet is the first book in the Theriot Family series. This story is told in dual POV and it works great for this storyline. There were some editing issues and specifics regarding what Remy’s family actually did were missing but it was still a decent read. 3 stars mostly because I finished it. It wasn't a bad book exactly... It just read very similar to other mafia books. It was kind of formulaic. The editing was pretty bad too. (kept saying I'll pay you and it's your choice but also said u can't run I have a guard) (may be a trigger for some) Felt like a rehashing of Lucien (this is the first book in this series that is a spinoff of the Merchesi series that Lucien is part of) Super steamy scenes Mild angst and a random monkey lol I was given a free arc copy from the author and the GRR arc team for review. 3.5 stars M/M Virgin Mafia crime boss meets Rent boy Male version of pretty woman but with a much sketchier John Dub con??? This was just ok. The best parts were the steamy scenes and how Remington would let his persona drop and be sweet to Henri. The romance was believable but the plot didn't really grab me. I did love how it ended. It was very sweet although some of it was unrealistic.

New family more mafia. Remington had a shot spot in X's book along with Lance. Now he getting his story told. I'm really enjoying the mafia trilogy that Silvia has going here. I'm glad she had another family to pull in. Henry is adorable. He has nothing. His mother is gone and he has a motor bills. So he runs away and end's up in New Orleans where he trying to make a living doing one of the oldest business profession. He has a lot of hard stops but Remington rides over all of them and he enjoys New family more mafia. Remington had a shot spot in X's book along with Lance. Now he getting his story told. Sometimes, you find the treasure at the end of the rainbow, when you micromanage. Remington was the boss, in charge and liked having his own way. Henri, fell on hard times and fell to being a rent boy, to make ends meet. When they met, Remy thought he was having a fling. Henri was drawn to this strong powerful man. They each had their own baggage and were attracted to each other. Does Remy plan on getting to know Henri? Will Henri ignore his values and give in? Can Remy keep Henri safe? I was really in the mood for a mafia style MM story & happened up this gem. Of course, curse my luck, about the 20 % mark, I figured out that this book was the first in an offshoot series. Great~just great !! This book hits on BD elements but doesn't brush the Daddy Kink area. Lots of Sir & punishments but 4 alarm chill🌡 hot! 🌶🔥🌶🔥 The story is Pretty Woman with Tony Soprano instead of Gere. Also if Julia Roberts is a twinky Tom Holland. Remy crashes his SUV while trying to spy on a rival. Henri is I was really in the mood for a mafia style MM story & happened up this gem. Good story...there is some torture elements involved. Take Away = Remy, always double tap.

Remington is great new series by Silvia Violet and I wasn't disappointed. Remington is scary, sexy, and ready to take over the family business. Henri is a college that takes up sex for sales in order to pay for college and rent. They discover each one night as Remington witness a murder and wrecks his car. Henri is a distraction and Remington needs to keep him from spilling his secret. The two are so sexy and hot and together and the book will have your attention from start to finish. I found Silvia Violet through her Lonely Dragons Club series, then moved on to her completely different, contemporary Love and Care series and loved both of those. When I heard she was going to set an m/m Mafia romance in my favorite city in the world, New Orelans, I knew it would be a one click buy for me. As expected, the story did not disappoint Remy and Henri have amazing chemistry together and I loved seeing the tough-guy Remy just melt for Henri and take such good care of him. Great start to a new series This is the second spin-off series from the Marchesi and is just as good. This series is set in New Orleans and follows the Theriot family who like the Marchesi are mafia. This one follows Remington - Remy who is taking over from his father as head of the Family and Henri a prostitute whom Remy picks up after witnessing the murder of a rival. Things then go downhill and uphill from there but they do get their HEA in the end. Looking forward to the next in the series.
