~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~ So first up, I usually avoid series lately that drag one couples story out over the course of several books. Duets are still on my "maybe" list, and I actually thought this was going to be a duet, but nope, it is a trilogy...so I was a little frustrated by that. BUT...that little niggle didn't take anything away from how very much I enjoyed this book. The writing was excellent. Especially when you consider this is the author's debut novel. I've read a lot of books lately by "seasoned" author's that are not anywhere near as well written. It was very well paced. The plot was engaging. It had good twists and turns. Last, it ended on a cliffhanger that will leave you champing at the bit for book two. ~HERO~ CALEB...I loved Caleb. He was a pretty perfect book boyfriend. He was sweet. He was a good friend. He had a conscience. He wanted to get out from under the thumb of his father. He was all about Paige. That said, I think we just sort of scratched the surface of Caleb in this book. His past isn't gone into in any great depth, so I am hoping in the next book(s) that we will get to see a little more of what makes Caleb tick. I also wouldn't mind getting a few more chapters from his POV. ~HEROINE~ PAIGE...Paige and I had a bit of a love/hate relationship in this book. I liked that she was so bada$$ and strong, but I found her a little bipolar in her interactions with Caleb. Her constant flip-flopping from between "I trust you" to "I don't trust you" started to get a bit annoying as the book went on. Especially considering Caleb never really did anything that would make her think he was "one of them." But ok, I tried to cut her some slack given what she went through. I am hoping the relationship between her and Caleb finds a more solid footing in the next book(s).   ~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~ There was a nice array of secondary characters in this one. Coworkers, boyfriends, brothers, and baddies. All of them added to the mystery. Some I loved. Some I hated. One (Calvin) I would love to read more about.  ~HEAT LEVEL~ MEDIUM. This book had some nice heat to it, and the frequency of the sex scenes felt organic to the story. ~ANGST LEVEL - SEXUAL HISTORIES~ MEDIUM. There is a lot of secrets and trust issues between this couple creating a fairly angsty read. Not to mention a twist that had my stomach in knots (lol). The heroine was a virgin which honestly, I am SO tired of, but in this case, it made sense. Plus she was only 19 and paranoid as hell about everything, so I could buy her being a virgin. The hero (of course) got around, though his past isn't really mentioned too much which was nice. There was no OM drama or OW drama.  ~IN THE END~ Did I enjoy it? Totally! Am I annoyed it is a trilogy? Unfortunately, yes (chalk it up to my mood). Will that stop me from reading the next book(s)? Not in the least! Would I recommend it? Undoubtedly.

I feel very meh about this book. It was okay but the characters were very forgettable and the romance was a little too insta-love for me. I also find it hard to believe that Paige would be so trusting after everything that happened to her.

Paige's entire family has been murdered and now she lives her life hiding from the people that did it. With a system of alternating routes and checking the entire house before she settles in, she's living life on a dangerous edge. (I would even hazard a guess that she suffers from PTSD.) The way she lives doesn't allow time for romance because she won't let herself get close to anyone, especially with how often she moves. But then she meets Caleb and there's something about him that draws her in Paige's entire family has been murdered and now she lives her life hiding from the people that did it. The way she lives doesn't allow time for romance because she won't let herself get close to anyone, especially with how often she moves. But then she meets Caleb and there's something about him that draws her in. He shouldn't like her, especially because his father is keeping tabs on her. They want her too, but for entirely different reasons. They have a deep connection and as Paige thinks "Is it possible to know someone years before meeting them in person?" That isn't something to be ignored. Caleb works desperately hard to break down Paige's impenetrable walls and every time he starts making progress with her trust, something happens to slam them back up. For me, it was too much as Caleb proved time and again he was trustworthy and Paige wouldn't give. She gives up her virginity for him and I can understand having that connection, but I didn't like the scene at all. It wasn't that it was graphic, it was that it was so extremely painful for her, and it doesn't have to be that way (he is *plenty* experienced, he should know lube is your friend). Despite those hiccups, Trust is good. I read a lot of Indie books and this one is well-written and flawlessly edited, you wouldn't know this is Diam's first book. She is a great writer and she tells a good story. Trust flowed smoothly from hot and steamy to super intense, and the scenes were well-written. The book isn't a standalone so you're going to need the next book to keep going with the story, but the good news is that Diam doesn't make us wait long for the next book. Nicely done.

This story seduced my senses while wrapping me in a web of suspense full of thrilling twists and turns. Trust is a thief of dark and light that stole my mind, body, and soul. How is he doing this to me? Making me lose myself. Making me forget where or who I am. A HEADY HIGH from beginning to end, Trust was my drug and I could not take enough hits of this romantic suspense that I felt everywhere! I was POSSESSED! Trust twisted around me where I was fully immersed and highly intoxicated. The intensity cut through me like a knife, piercing and penetrating. Magnetic. Masterful. Mesmerizing. Trust is an ADDICTING ADVENTURE that made me ache for more while reading! What extreme exhilaration! ”I just need to feel you. Take my pain, and I’ll take yours.” Full of equal parts excitement and emotion, the plot is fast-paced and flawlessly written. The chemistry between the hero and heroine is palpable, and you’ll fall in love with Caleb and Paige, both so bold, so broken, and so and beautiful. I LOVED Caleb who is the ultimate hero—possessive and protective—who made me SWOON! He is tough on the outside but tender at the core. I adored Paige but admired her smarts and strength the most. Paige and Caleb melt together and I couldn’t get enough of them. Comfort shouldn’t exist in the arms of my enemy. Scorching, spine-tingling, and soul-stirring, Trust is a roller coaster of a romance that thrust me to the emotional edge where I was left clamoring for more. Trust UNEQUIVOCALLY WOWED ME! This was a pretty good story and I didn’t realize that it was also the authors debut novel. Poor Paige is all alone and basically running for her life. She’s trying to stay on the down low from the person who took out her whole family. She’s had to grow up pretty fast for a nineteen year old. Caleb has his own secrets and is trying to protect her. This whole book is packed full of suspense, twists and turns. Their story kept me interested enough that I want to find out what will happen next.

I decided to read this book because I was seeing many quotes about it on various sites, and I am glad I gave in because "Trust" was my cup of tea. This book tells the story of Paige, a woman who is 19 that went through a trauma after her whole family was murdered by some killers that remain unidentified. Besides the suffering of losing her parents and sisters, Paige discovers that her life previous to that moment had been a lie. Who is she? Who are the people who killed her parents? Paige is convinced that the killers are still after her, this is why she keeps on changing apartments and jobs to keep herself in the dark as much as possibile to avoid losing her life by the hands of these people. Now, the first thing that came into my mind when I read how Paige behave was to call her paranoid because she thinks someone is always watching her every move. She keeps on changing routes to go to her jobs or come back to her house, and it takes so much effort, but there are people who act like this, even if they are fewer than the majority. As the story develops, though, we understand why she is so obsessed with staying on her own and disclose as little as possible about her life and habits. There are indeed some people who are keeping an eye on her, and chapter after chapter there are some details not to avoid that let us realize what is that the killers want, but it's not always clear. I liked that the author showed us Paige's fears and described what was happening to her and her suspicions, but some of them are real... while some of them are not, which makes the story even more interesting because it's hard to say who or what is true and what is not. The "Trust" of the title is not only aimed at the reader who has to try to trust the story despite there's a bit of tension in the air, but it also refers to the main protagonist Paige and the main male protagonist, Caleb. We don't know much about Caleb besides from what he tells us or from the scenes he has from other characters, and it is hard for the reader to trust him as well because of this. Paige finds herself drawn to him but she doesn't know why, since she decided not to get attached to anybody. Caleb tries hard to let Paige trust him, but it's not that easy for her and he knows that he's playing with fire. Our main heroine was different from many other women in novels I've read before. She could seem weak at times, but she's very strong. She is maybe too strong for her own good, but since she fears that something bad may happen to her because of her parents' killer, she decided to be tough and be detached from all of the people she meets in her life. Maybe not only to protect herself but also to protect them from these people who are looking for her. The book ends with a cliffhanger since this is a trilogy, and I can't wait to read the second volume when it comes out.

A pretty typical NA romance, to be honest. Here’s a run down: - Paige witnessed the assassination of her family - Then there’s a question about if she’s been kidnapped? Who knows honestly - Obviously her love interest is the brooding bad boy son of the man behind her family’s deaths - Lots of romance - Lots of angst That’s basically everything I can remember about this book, despite the fact that I only finished it a little while ago. Pretty disappointing. *i received a free review copy*

This story has me on the merry go round every five minutes. I wasn't able to predict anything and I LOVE when that happens. I simply can't wait for the next part of their story to come out. I'm still in shock that this is a debut! Seriously! I feel that everyone NEEDS to read this.

⭐️ 4 "TTM" Stars ⭐️ I can’t believe Trust is a debut novel! Casey Diam confidently twisted a compelling story with the first installment of her Things That Matter Series. "How fucking ironic that I'd become the man my father wanted me to be for the girl he wanted dead." The book opened in a solid way with Paige, the heroine, witnessing the murder of her family. This horrific event unravelled a lot of other revelations that put in place a gripping story. Almost five years later, she’s living in fear every single day to be found by the criminals that killed her family. Paige is skittish and keeps to herself, but there’s just something about Caleb that appeals to her. Their connection is immediate, but with her trust issues this hero needs to act carefully. The romance between this couple is so beautiful. Caleb is so attentive and patient with Paige. You clearly feel he wants to protect her and help her heal. But nothing is as easy, because they both keep secrets from each other. They soon discover that they’re tied together in more ways than they thought. As much as I enjoyed the story, the first half was a little too slow. In the second half of the book though, everything unravelled into some epic action and discoveries. I couldn’t wait to turn the pages and unveil some new answers to this gripping plot! "Comfort shouldn't exist in the arms of my enemy." With the way Trust ended, I’m now eager to uncover the grand scheme of this whole series with the next novels. ** ARC received via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review **

Trust is the first book I have read by author Casey Diam, it’s book one of the ‘Things That Matter’ trilogy. That title comes to mean a lot between Paige and Caleb, it’s their code when talking about the ‘real’ events in their past. Each has a deep, dark secret that neither knows much about, but slowly as they get to know one another, little bits are revealed. It’s told in dual POV so it’s easy to get inside their heads, which is good as this a pretty convoluted but well written story, considerin Trust is the first book I have read by author Casey Diam, it’s book one of the ‘Things That Matter’ trilogy. It’s told in dual POV so it’s easy to get inside their heads, which is good as this a pretty convoluted but well written story, considering it’s the author’s debut novel. There’s a lot of intense passion between the couple, but this is a slow burner of a story, so it takes a while before it presents itself on the pages. Caleb is quite the sexy, mysterious alpha male, I loved how strong and protective he was of Paige, even before he knew the truth of who she was. Paige has had to do a lot of growing up in the five years since she lost her family in a terrible way and she’s been on her own all that time, running and hiding from the men who want to kill her too. She’s learned to take care of herself, and has a kick-a** personality. Literally, she will kick anyone who threatens her. She doesn’t trust anyone, but somehow Caleb manages to get beneath her skin. And she fell. Hard. But, as more of their past gets revealed, knowledge is found that sends them reeling and their whole relationship is thrown up in the air. Will they ever get past this? Well, it does have a cliffhanger so, I guess you have your answer. But don’t let that stop you from taking a chance with this brand new author. She writes a gripping, emotional and twisted tale that will suck you in and spit you back out desperate for more. I know I am.

Trust had me on my toes and constantly second guessing myself. Paige and Caleb find themselves in a precarious situation trying to figure out who they really are. Paige has been running since her family was killed and she knows they are closing in. Not trusting anyone or allowing herself to get close to anyone, she meets Caleb and everything changes. How does he fit in the picture? Is he one of them? Does he know what is going on? This book was suspenseful with a great twist! What a fantastic debut novel from the very talented Casey Diam. I was hooked from the start this book had everything I want from a great story... there was drama, intrigue, holy hotness between the two main characters Caleb and Paige, and all the angst that goes along with their complicated relationship! WOW! A great debut novel. I was pulled into this story from the beginning. A fascinating and suspenseful read. Paige is strong, alone, hurt and confused about the events in her life. She’s trying to understand and get by the best she can. Caleb is also trying to get by the best he can. He has his best friend by his side to help him. This story wasn’t predictable at all. I love that about it. I was on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait for the next book in this series! *Magic Beyond The Covers Boo WOW! A great debut novel. This book had so much suspense, and I had so many questions about the set up scenarios. There was heartache for the main characters. Wonder if their lives would ever be their own and what would happen was just a page away. Cannot wait until Tuesday.
