Betrayal and deception descend in a flurry of brutal tactics and sinister schemes, observing the blurred lines, broken barriers and crushed perimeters, restrictions are amplified and enforced, kicking down walls and bringing the heat, exposing the clever quirks and defying bents, reaching deep for every ounce of strength in a fierce surge of preservation and determination, exploding this baby to life brilliantly. Individuality and ingenuity in layer upon layer that you peel back with each page your drawn into this tangled web so thoroughly till nothing else exists, blasting this bad boy into the eye of the hurricane, bursting it into a tailspin with astonishing results, secrets confessed, revelations unmasked and promises made, hurling this baby to life brilliantly. The characters are complex, genuine and realistic with traits and qualities that balance and blend, with amazing depth and diversity and enough spice to add an extra kick to the mix. Throw in 100% on point realism, raising the stakes with such graphic scenarios that are so colorfully descriptive and vividly detailed its like you're living it with them instead of on the sidelines. Incredible job Ellen, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.

It is another of those stories where sometimes you just want to knock the heads of the two characters together as they both obviously are really attracted to the other, but neither can open up about it. Definitely worth reading and I will certainly have a look at other books by this author.

Foolish heroine The plot was so transparent, the reader knew what was going to happen long before it did. The heroine was completely irritating to my mind. Throwing her good fortune into the face of the boy (now a man) who had been abandoned, was more than hurtful. It showed ignorance. Most of the romance was shown in thoughts only and there was little meaningful dialogue between the two main characters. As for Amelia stitching and making leather boots with no tools...for heaven's sake!! Foolish heroine The plot was so transparent, the reader knew what was going to happen long before it did. This is a well written historical western romance with strong characters and an entertaining story line. The author brings tons of drama and suspense along with the romance and weaves an adventurous story. It moves fluidly with her vividly painted scenes and is an enjoyable read. I would recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Historical Western Romance I have to say I almost dumped the book ..not really wanting to finish it. I knew Harvey was bad news and was not looking forward to more evil. Yes the ending was good..but getting there had its moments.
