Everyone knows about Beauty and the Beast and how he turned back into a prince after Beauty revealed her love to him. But what happened after the happily ever after? Auguste, (the beast) went back to being proud and vain. When Beauty gives birth to their child, Auguste sends her a message that he cant make it. The next day, Auguste sees Egad, the woman who had cursed him. Auguste rushes home and finds out he had triplets, but these triplets were hairy and had ferocious fangs. Auguste realizes that he has again been cursed. Auguste begins to change his ways so that the curse is taken away. I am not sure how I feel about this version of the story. It has a sense of humor but for an older audience I believe. I don't think I would use it with elementary students. However, the book is recommended for ages 5-9. I found this book on getepic.com

He soon realizes that his curse has been passed to his three children, with one having paws, another having a tail, and the other having fangs. The children are out of control, terrorizing the castle, biting the palace guards, and swinging from the weather vane. They are definitely beastly until their father starts spending more time with them and becomes a better role model for them. Activity 1: Have students write a newspaper article as if they were an eyewitness to one of the events in the story. Have students type their articles, format them into a newspaper titled “Castle Quarterly,” and print it. Activity 2: I would have students complete a story pyramid where at the top is one word that identifies the main character, next two words that describe the main character, three words that describe the setting, four words that describe a problem, etc. Beast Vain unkind Castle rooftop forest Children are very beastly

This was a hoot. Adults would enjoy this on a whole different level from kids as a tale of disillusionment following the big romance. I laughed out loud at the page showing Beauty in labor while hubby is away gallivanting with his 'royal gang'. Of course the 'Beast' transforms once again by the end and they finally can live happily ever after. Pictures were reminiscent of Mayer but a little more cartoonish. Fun. This was a hoot. I loved this book when I was little. The beast's curse gets passed on to his kids, and they have to break the spell all over again! I loved this book when I was little. The beast's curse gets passed on to his kids, and they have to break the spell all over again!
