These three short stories by different authors are all about young unmarried Amish ladies who want to be teachers. Each one goes to another place to do their job. Each one meets a local Amish gentleman and falls in love. Each setting is different and each situation is different and together they give a birds eye view of what an Amish one room school is like. These were entertaining and informative and each one gives you a whole story in one sitting. This is a nice collection of stories that depict the lifestyle of Amish women who teach school. Each teacher leaves her own community and family and relocates to an unfamiliar area. The stories have fast moving plots, magnetic characters and a sweet romance too. These are just right for a calming read before bedtime or a peaceful vacation entertainment. I want to thank the publisher and NetGalley for my advanced copy. I enjoyed these stories by three of the popular writers of the genre today. Amy Clipston, Kathleen Fuller, and Shelley Shepard Gray. These names are synonymous with great storytelling, and this book has stories from all three! Each novella has different characters and different settings, but they all shine a light on the qualities that a good teacher should have : love, patience, dedication, and determination! Reading these stories took me back in time, as I remembered my own anticipation of new teachers, new school years, and new beginnings! An Amish Schoolroom, however, presents the teacher's point of view, as Laurel, Priscilla, and Wendy experience their own new beginnings! Laurel has to leave her family and move to another state to fulfill her dream, Priscilla goes back to her Amish home after her original dream is altered, and Wendy has to prove that she is capable of teaching the Amish children in her community. Challenges indeed, but the biggest tests seem to be in their personal relationships. Glen, Micah, and Lewis are three exceptional young men waiting to sweep these Amish teachers off of their feet, but will they succeed? If you enjoy reading about the Amish lifestyle, and you're yearning for love and romance, look no further. Clipston, Fuller, and Gray have filled An Amish Schoolroom with warmth, inspiration, and strong family connections. Three entertaining stories by three exceptional authors make this a perfect choice! I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a favorable review. I am voluntarily sharing my own thoughts.

An Amish Schoolroom contains three heartwarming novellas by Amy Clipston, Kathleen Fuller, and Shelley Shepard Gray. Each Amish tale is about a woman whose desire to become a teacher is finally fulfilled. As they embark on their new adventure, each lady meets a handsome, friendly man. I liked that each story was set in a different Amish community. We get a glimpse of what it is like to teach school in a one-room schoolhouse with students from six to fourteen. I thought each of the stories were well-written with realistic characters and beautiful settings. A Class for Laurel takes us to Monte Vista, Colorado where Laurel Weaver meets Glen Troyer. They become friends, and then begin dating. Glen’s family, though, worries that he will move away or get his heart broken. Can love triumph? This was such a sweet story. I was drawn in right away. I liked the characters especially Glen’s grandmother. I enjoyed the vivid descriptions of Monte Vista, Colorado. It sounds like a beautiful area (the word imagery makes me want to visit). The romance was sweet and progressed nicely. I appreciated the epilogue that nicely wrapped up the story. I hope we get to revisit this community again (hint, hint Amy Clipston). A Lesson on Love by Kathleen Fuller has Priscilla Helmuth returning to the Amish after pursuing her dream in Nashville. Priscilla is hired as the teacher in Marigold, Ohio. When she goes to purchase a buggy, Priscilla meets buggy maker Micah Wagler. There is an instant attraction between them, but Priscilla worries about their age difference. A maedel in the community feels she has dibs on Micah which causes conflict. Just when Micah and Priscilla become close, Priscilla receives some surprising news. A Lesson on Love was an easy-to-read story. I liked that there was an age difference between Micah and Priscilla. It gives us something different along with Priscilla’s dream of being a country music singer. This is a charming story. Wendy’s Twenty Reasons by Shelley Shepard Gray has Wendy Schwartz realizing her dream of becoming a teacher. Wendy intends to prove she can handle the job despite her young age. It is proving difficult as her students miss their former teacher and a nosy mother questions her abilities. Wendy finds her landlord’s son, Lewis to be friendly and helpful. She enjoys spending time with him and finds herself wanting more than friendship. Wendy does not want to pick between teaching and love. If things do not improve at school, though, Wendy could find herself returning home and her teaching dream over. This was an engaging story that was over far too soon. It has good characters and a thought-out plot. I liked the humor sprinkled throughout the story. I like how it all came together. I liked that we get to see things from the male and female perspective in each novella. An Amish Schoolroom is a charming collection of stories. They are great individually and work wonderfully together. Each novella has special characters, a beautiful setting, unexpected love, and a pesky problem. My favorite line came from A Class for Laurel which is, “With God all things are possible.” An Amish Schoolroom is an irresistible trio of Amish tales that was the perfect way so spend a rainy Saturday afternoon.

Glen befriends Laurel and before they know it they are becoming more than friends. Can anything ever become of this friendship since Laurel’s plan has always been to return to Pennsylvania and her family in a few years. You will totally enjoy this lovely story. Amy has done an excellent job, as always, telling this story. A Lesson on Love by Kathleen Fuller is the second story in this collection. Priscilla Helmuth left her Amish community years ago to follow her dreams to become a singer. After those dreams did not come true she returned to her home community to become an Amish school teacher. Priscilla has accepted a job in a small Amish community as their school teacher. She is attracted at first sight to the buggy maker, Micah Wagler. She realizes that nothing can come of this attraction because she is 10 years his senior. The question is, will Micah take no for an answer. Beautiful telling of this story by Kathleen. Come to find out, she was worried about losing her son (just like Glen's mamm in the story). Since then, we have worked things out and now we're pretty close. ***end of very slight spoiler***  It's really neat to hear about a similar thing happening in an Amish setting.  🍎 A Lesson of Love by Kathleen Fuller This story features a very sweet age gap romance between Priscilla and Micah. I really enjoyed Priscilla's viewpoint of being both English and Amish, and how she prefers the more conservative lifestyle. Their shared love of music was a nice touch as well. Suetta's character definitely surprised me since she had a personality isn't a common character trait in Amish books. It was interesting to read about her as a side character.  🍎 Wendy's Twenty Reasons by Shelly Shepard Grey The heroine of this story, Wendy, is so likable and sweet. It is a slight age gap romance (6 years) with another guy vying for her. This story was hard to put down, and I wish that it was a bit longer.  An interesting part is the brief mention of a group of Amish mentoring children in Mexico on a mission trip. If the author sees this at all, that would make a great story since it's out of the box from the generic Amish story setting.  🌟 Overall, I really enjoyed reading An Amish Schoolhouse. It was a nice escape from every day life with three sweet and clean romances. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that enjoys sweet romances and learning about the Amish lifestyle.

Amy Clipston, Kathleen Fuller, and Shelley Shepard Gray together in one book! Three stories take readers to the Amish one room schoolhouse, where all grades are taught together. Amy Clipston's A Class for Laurel, takes Laurel Weaver from her home in Lancaster to a teaching position in Colorado. All she wanted was a couple of years of an adventure, something different from her norm. She didn't expect Glen Troyer, or his friendship. Can she face the opposition of his family to find a new place to belong? Kathleen Fuller's story, "A Lesson in Love" brings the story of Priscilla Helmuth and Micah Wagler. Priscilla has spent the last 15 years pursuing her dream of being a country music star and living in the English world. She was recently convicted to return to her Amish roots, and has taken a classroom in a tiny town in Ohio. At 35, she believes love has passed her by. Micah Wagler is also a recent transplant, moving from Lancaster to start his buggy building business. Priscilla is the first woman to interest him in a long time, but when fame finally comes calling, is Micah's love enough to keep Priscilla Amish? Shelley Shepard Gray's story, Wendy's Twenty Reasons puts Wendy Schwartz in a classroom as the long-term substitute for a much-loved teacher. Wendy is young, and used to being underestimated, but she didn't expect outright opposition. Lewis Weaver is the son of the couple Wendy is boarding with, and his steady friendship is rapidly becoming not only her support, but her sounding board. Can Lewis convince Wendy to stay on, even if the school board doesn't want to renew her contract? When Wendy and her students are trapped in the school by a blizzard, will the town change their tune? I like each of these authors individually, and putting them all in the same book is inspired! Each story has some humor, some anguish, and some unexpected love. I can definitely recommend this to readers who enjoy Amish fiction!

Being a Colorado resident this was a fun story to read as I have not given much thought to this community in my home state. The story tells the tale of a couple facing dilemmas such as a large age difference, a third party admirer and a disapproving family. They will need to rely on their faith and love to get passed the hurdles. This is a sweet story that I give two thumbs up! In Ms. Fuller's A Lesson On Love, we find an Amish young lady who has just recently returned to her faith and found a very interested fellow. However, the pull to the English way of life and a chance at following her dreams might take her right back out into the world. She needs to decide what exactly is her dreams and make a decision to reach out for that happy ending. In Ms. Gray's Wendy's Twenty Reasons we find an Amish teacher struggling with difficulties that could jeopardize her position and then on top of that an ice storm traps her and the students. Everyone, including her romantic interest, has to come to some realizations which might change the outlook for the future. As usual, this collection of three stories makes for a comfortable, easy read. The feel good romance stories make for light reading. As chilly Fall weather moves in, this is a great book to curl up with!

As the teachers in these stories endeavor to instruct, inspire, and serve their students in their small, Amish schoolrooms, new relationships are nurtured, goals are achieved, and love begins to grow. In each of these novellas, the authors have written endearing stories that are thoroughly enjoyable and uplifting. I quickly and easily found myself drawn into the plot of each novella, experiencing real connections to the characters within each story. These stories include relatable characters who face setbacks, overcome challenges, and welcome unexpected possibilities. Their dreams and motivations are moving and memorable. I especially appreciated the meaningful, thematic threads of service, kindness, friendship, faith, family, and community that are woven throughout each of the three stories. Priscilla with a broken dream from the past is having a difficult time with the age difference in her relationship with Micah. Would she let a dream from the past ruin her future? Wendy is just a temporary teacher with hopes for a permanent position. Would a few spirited students and a meddlesome parent destroy that hope? The characters are endearing, realistic and relatable. Each of the teachers had no intention of looking for romance but as the challenges arise there is a young man who can help and might just win an Amish maiden's heart. Readers who enjoy sweet Amish romance stories will not want to miss An Amish Schoolroom. I read a complimentary copy of the book from Netgalley and was not required to write a review. A collection of three wonderful Amish stories to make your heart warm and fuzzy. Perfect for a fall getaway. A Class for Laurel by Amy Clipston Even though this story made me mad a lot of times I did enjoy seeing the representation that even Amish families can be jealous when a family member falls in love with someone they may not like at first. Change is hard for everyone and sometimes that fear clouds our judgment and can hurt others without us intending to. A Lesson on Love by Kathleen Fuller My favorite lines: " We all have paths to travel in life. Some are straighter than others, some more exciting. As long as God is with you during the journey, the rest doesn't matter." I have to remind myself of something similar over the last several years as my son finds his way in life. Wendy's Twenty Reasons by Shelley Shepard Gray This story made me think about the things I wish I could change in my life and how all it has done is make me regret other things instead of looking at the blessings those times gave me. The third young woman, had put her Amish life on hold, will she remain? Answers are forthcoming, and you will be quickly involved in each of these novellas.
