Ahhhh this was SO CUTE. Reading these manga volumes is really making me want to reread Fangirl for the fifth time lol. The scenes of Cath reading to Levi were perfect, I was SQEALING. It was everything I hoped it would be. I just love these characters so much!

5 stars I really don’t want to wait another two years for the next one so please please please publish the third one soon! Part 2/4 of the manga adaptation and boy did this end at a good part. I might have to reread the novel again if we have to wait too long.

Is it even a surprise that I gave this 5 stars? ******************************** I can't believe this got postponed for the second time. All I want is more Fangirl content as soon as possible, is that too much to ask for? I received a copy of this book for free for promotional purposes. Full disclosure: I have not read volume 1 of this manga. However, I have read Fangirl, the novel that this is based upon, and have always been curious about this manga adaptation. I am familiar with the story so I was able to read and understand this volume without having read volume 1. If I could use one word to describe this book it would be cozy. It feels like such a comfort read, probably because the book is set during the fall I received a copy of this book for free for promotional purposes. I loved the art style. The illustrator specializes in black and white manga style and that is very evident. The art looks like a classic manga. The illustrator did a phenomenal job conveying all of Cath’s emotions. I liked that the manga followed in the book’s footsteps and used snippets from the Simon Snow books and Cath’s fan fiction. Since this manga doesn’t use chapters, it helped separate different parts of the story. Generally, I prefer chapters in manga to avoid it feeling like one long scene. Overall, this was such a warm and heartfelt read. I cannot wait to read the next one since this one ends on such a cliffhanger!

I hadn't seen that this one is out already but I AM READY TO READ IT! Honestly, revisiting the story like this proved to be really fun last time around so now I'm very excited about this one. That being said, I still have a gripe with them calling this a manga and not simply a graphic novel but, well, small picks don't really matter. A perfectly fine adaptation of a perfectly fine novel continues at its slow, character-driven pace -- by the end we're only halfway through the novel, with two more manga to go! Embarrassing admission: Since it's in the manga format, I started reading it from right to left as if it were a Japanese import. I was ten pages in (10 !!!) before I realized I was actually reading the book backward. Rating: 4.5 A book that constantly has me smiling from every page. I am so glad to be back with these characters and back into their world. The original book Fangirl was one I read years ago and absolutely loved it. I could totally connect with Cath and what she was going through. I’m happy to have an illustrated version because it’s always nice seeing books we love be released in different formats. Just like the first volume the artwork continues to be perfect and truly fits the story. The sty Rating: 4.5 A book that constantly has me smiling from every page. Just like the first volume the artwork continues to be perfect and truly fits the story. The style captures the characters emotions and the writing is short but includes the most important scenes/dialogues from the full book. I can’t believe I now have to wait for volume 3 to be released! My heart literally stopped when I got to the last page. Even though I know what happens next I still want to see how it is handled/adapted in this series. I would definitely recommend this illustrated series to everyone. If you're a fan of the main book then I think you would really appreciate this. If you don’t know the original work then give this series a try because then you will definitely want to read the longer story. Thank you so much @vizmedia for the gifted copy on #netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

*sigh* i honestly don’t remember the book. i don’t remember what happens (or if it even happens) after the cliffhanger of this volume. and honestly, if early i thought “aw”, now i think “ugh again”, authors LOVE to do this shit the mother thing. if she doesn’t want to meet her, leave her alone, it’s her life. if the sister wants to meet her, let her meet her, it’s her life, everyone has the right to make their own decisions. and just because it’s her mother it doesn’t mean she has to forgive her, *sigh* i honestly don’t remember the book. i don’t remember what happens (or if it even happens) after the cliffhanger of this volume. and honestly, if early i thought “aw”, now i think “ugh again”, authors LOVE to do this shit the mother thing. if she doesn’t want to meet her, leave her alone, it’s her life. if the sister wants to meet her, let her meet her, it’s her life, everyone has the right to make their own decisions. and just because it’s her mother it doesn’t mean she has to forgive her, like, we got through that phase of the world, we can now say fuck u to our own family members if they gave us traumas cath is way too nice. after the 911 incident the sister made, i would have just ignored her until she apologized, not just continued as nothing happened. that’s stupid last thing… that forehead ain’t big enough. that damn forehead is the only thing i remembered of the book, and as a certified big foreheaded freak, i gotta defend my boy, and the one drawn is a small one, do better (jk)

Fangirl Vol. 2 is the next installment in the Fangirl manga adaptations and this second one was just as good as the first one! You do not have to read the original novel to read the mangas as they are very spot on in their adaptations. With that being said, the original book is absolutely worth the read, but this a great alternative for those looking to reread Fangirl or for those who would simply prefer a graphic version. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!

It’s so lovely to get to revisit this story in such a visually appealing way. It’s a really good translation from one medium to the other—the characters have energy and emotion, and the pacing works well. (And it’s always nice to see Simon and Baz again.) I can’t wait to read the rest.

I can't believe it ends in THAT SCENE. What on earth am I supposed to do until the next volume that Rainbow says it'll be out hopefully next year?!?! This is the second volume of the Manga adaptation of Fangirl. I loved this. Two of my favorite scenes are in here. And the most relatable quote I've read in my life is in here. I just can't. Now I want to read the whole book again. I've read the first one three times now. I think I'll reread this one a hundred times more at least. The illustrations I can't believe it ends in THAT SCENE. I can always reread one of my multiple copies of Fangirl if I miss Levi too much.

Fangirl has been a comfort book of mine since I first read it in 2013. I give it a reread about once a year because I love it so much. To see a favorite of mine come to life in these graphic novel adaptations brings me so much joy. The illustrations are exactly how I always pictured Levi and Cath!!!

Vol. 2 was amazing! It was even better than the first. I felt totally immersed in the story. The illustrations were perfect, and the script was just right. I also loved that there was more Simon Snow scenes included. I seriously need the next one, like, NOW. Especially after that ending… BUT it does give me the perfect excuse to reread one of my favorite books 😉

I loved this volume more than I did the first one. Mainly just because the romance kicked it up a notch! reading this volume brought back memories that I completely forgot about from reading the novel many many years ago. It was new but nostalgic at the same time. I loved the art style. I can't wait to read the rest of the volumes. I loved this volume more than I did the first one.
