3.25 STARS Okay, I did not expect to like this book as much as I did. I started reading it on a whim at midnight last night, and didn’t go to bed until 5:30 AM so I could finish it. When Abby is assigned an assignment she can’t fulfill without being socially active, she forms an alliance with Chase. Chase has been dumped 3 times, each when he reaches a certain point in his relationships. They figure they can help each other... all business. 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐬— I didn’t have many problems with this book. In fake dating tropes, often one of the humans in the relationship (usually the girl) thinks they’re not good enough for the fake “significant other” when they are falling for the other person. This didn’t really happen until later in the story when they both sense the fake breakup is coming, and I appreciated that. Not everything in Abby’s head was “oh, I have to look perfect because of the date in public,” (even though it’s really for the guy). She was confident in herself and even though she thought she knew what kind of guy she liked, Chase was the person that made her realize someone like him was someone she could fall for, and she did. He is pretty great, I will say. Anyways, Abby was actually more comfortable when she was with Chase and let loose, which made me happy. Their banter and teasing moved fluidly and made the story more enjoyable as well. I liked this book. It was sweet and enjoyable! Bonus: dual point-of-view. Happy reading!

This wasn't anything exceptional. It didn't do anything that every other teen romcom movie or book hasn't already done. Everything moved so quick that this actually seems like a novelization of some random teen movie than it seems like it's own story. I just wasn't invested in Abby or Chase, so when things weren't going great, I didn't really care. I also didn't really care when things were going good. Im usually a sucker for the fake relationship turned real relationship trope, but this book ju This wasn't anything exceptional. Actual rating 2.5 stars This wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. Even for a fake boyfriend trope it was too predictable and while I liked the main characters I wish there was more of a highlight on their banter and conversations. Because when they talked I liked it but there was a lot of inner dialogue to explain how they felt about each other. Actual rating 2.5 stars This wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. Seeing characters that get paired off later in this series is pretty cool. Anyways, to the actual review. I love the writing style. If I calculated right, this was the author’s first published book though I could be wrong. To be honest, it is so amazingly written. It flows smoothly. The concept is new even if the trope has been used a lot. Abby and Chase are a super cute couple. Reading about him in other books especially Dylan’s story, he didn’t always come out to be super nice. In this book, I get to see what makes him. There’s a lot behind the persona and I fell in love with his character. (Don’t worry Dylan! You’ll always be at the top of my list.) Abby was such a funny person. She wasn’t anything the serious person that her facade showed. She had her problems and issues but that’s what made her real. I loved the ups and downs of the relationship. I enjoyed trying to uncover who the person destroying Chase’s relations was. I’ll tell you, I did not expect that! Izzy was an incredible friend to Abby and her character was so good. Jordyn was super loving towards Chase and super truthful. Sorry, getting a bit off track. What I’m trying to say is that this book is worth reading and everything about it, is perfect. If I had to sum up high school in one word, I’d pick electric. It was the nervous energy flowing through your body as you prepared for the first day back. The spark when the cute boy smiles. The lightning bolt of a first kiss, the thunderstorm of falling in love, the rain-swept field that follows a breakup. At least, that’s how a high school romance was supposed to feel. Not that I would know. “The social feature was a collection of all of my memories of you. Of us. Those memories weren’t for every If I had to sum up high school in one word, I’d pick electric. I wanted to keep that part of you for me.” This was a fun and quick read. Chase and Abby were adorable. Chase is sweet, caring, and romantic. Abby is smart and driven. The book made me laugh and had me smiling. I enjoyed the mystery behind the story. 3.75 stars.

This was a quick and fun read. I loved the characters. This brought me back to high school and I remember trying to just get through and not caring what others thought of me. Cute, sweet, and just what a YA love story should be!! Chase and Abby are from two totally opposite ends of the spectrum that one could be expected to think that there would be no way that they would work as a couple! Sweet as promised! Classic fake relationship it might not stay that fake. It talks about insecurities and how to cope with them, how appereances are deceiving and social media plays a big part. I also really like the support characters, I'm looking forward for their stories. Easy, light, romantic. It got my heart squeezed and it had some angst worth parts, but not too much so it became a dread - just the right amount. Sweet as promised! Classic fake relationship it might not stay that fake. After reading the blurb, I was looking forward to reading this book. After reading it I found that I enjoyed it far more then I was expecting to! It’s clean and only has a couple of kisses in it. It also cute and quirky. It’s got heartwarming characters that each struggle with their own insecurities but grow over the course of the book. This book made me giggle and laugh. It has a good story line and you really get to know the characters. It was a sweet book for me and I enjoyed it. This is a first for me by this author but Emily did a good job writing this story. It was a quickie for me and found that it flowed pretty smooth. There is a bit of mystery mixed with a bit of romance. It is a young adult book but adults will enjoy this story. This book 😍 First, the mystery I fb resident was epic! It was two worlds colliding perfectly in one book: sweet romance and mystery! Now, Abby, the heroine, is smart, driven and funny! Also really sensitive and I loved her. The hero, Chase, is the popular jock who really is a good guy! He’s romantic, considerate and a great boyfriend. Their dynamic was funny and cute and made a great team while discovering the mystery of Chase’s love life. Highly recommended

A cute, quirky, fun, and sweet YA read. Abby is an introverted reporter at her HS who's now supposed to write about its social life. Chase is the star quarterback with a mystery regarding his last relationships so they strike a deal. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Abby and chase. I really enjoyed reading this book, it was cliché, i’ll admit, like the fake boyfriend girlfriend thing, or thinking he/she liked someone else which obviously isn’t true, together with him being the popular QB and her being the ‘nerd’. I personally do like cliché though. The only thing i missed were some more intimate moments! They held helds, and kissed at the end, but no hot scenes sadly, but it was a sweet romance story

Super cute! This story was SO cute! I loved it! The only reason I gave it four instead of five because I was hoping for a little more with the kiss. It also read a bit weird to me. But other than that I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to pick up the second book! 😍

I liked this book a lot. It was sweet and hit all the right spots. I liked this book for a lot of reasons. Chase and Abby has this connection that was too sweet and it just worked for them against the odds. The quarter back and the shy and quiet girl. Its unlikely, but too sweet. That being said, it made many “to all the boys I’ve loved” vibes, but it was easy to get past. I loved the family vibes. It was sweet to hear about their families and how they both coped with the hardships. I don’t really have much to complain about. They weren’t always the best at communicating, but that happens. No one cheated, there was no big betrayal, nothing that really hurt. This was a very very sweet book. I look forward to reading mire by this author. It’s not a favorite, but it was very sweet. I guess that’s all I have to say. ***update, after thinking about it, I’m going to pull the rating of this book up and give it a spot on my favorites shelf like it deserves. Simple books give me pause about whether they should be a 5-star rating, but I loved this book. I have no huge complaints about it at all and the chemistry between the two characters was beyond cute. I had no complaints in my review, that’s a dead giveaway that I loved this book. So, I’ve changed my mind. I’m giving this book the credit it deserves.***
