Mind twisting good If you enjoy a good mystery, this novel is full of hauntingly clever short story cases. I missed the long drags from a black and mild while I read each case. Definitely recommend.

"Whiskey, no ice!!" A detective with a specific choice of alcohol every time running behind evidence and criminals. A cold-hearted detective with violence and his cigar. Behind smokes of cigars, he searches for the criminals. A boldly written script (story) with morgue scenes, typically framed postmortem reports, highly tortured criminals. He solves cases such as three children hanging aging near nine or ten, five CEOs death by heart attack of the same company, a famous chef's death, his childhood "Whiskey, no ice!!" Well written!!!

Blood and Whiskey was a superb collection of stories featuring private investigator Banks. Each story involves Bank analysing a case but also builds in his character, so readers get to know Banks as well as think about solving a crime as they read. This is an exciting and engaging read, filled with clever plots featuring twists, revelations and tension and characters that have great quirks. Banks is untraditional, risk taking and has his own laws but absolutely likeable, funny and endearing. I s Blood and Whiskey was a superb collection of stories featuring private investigator Banks. A bold, brilliant read! Highly recommended

Give me more Banks! I am generally not a crime/detective type of reader, but I loved this book. It follows John Banks, detective, through six of his cases. He solves the cases by rather unique means that pulls the reader into the story. Five out of the six stories are relatively short and one is about twice as long as the others. Surely, Mr. Banks has more cases that he's solved? Gosh, I hope so for the stories are riveting! Looking forward to Vol. 2. Give me more Banks! One of the best detective books I've ever read "What have you got for me today God?" I'll tell you what Blood & Whiskey has for you. Fast pace mysteries that leave Angela Lansbury in the dust! I like how each chapter is a different case and how descriptive the author was, pulling you right into the scene with every twist and turn. This is one is for the bookshelf or as a gift. You won't be disappointed. One of the best detective books I've ever read "What have you got for me today God?" I'll tell you what Blood & Whiskey has for you. I loved this collection of short stories with Private Investigator John Banks as the main character. The stories are hard-hitting and interesting with danger, violence, and suspense. I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

A great quick read! It was kind of like sitting at a bar, listening to some first-hand account detective stories over drinks. A lot of fun. A little embellishment. And left me ready for the next story at the end of each "solved" case. A great quick read! It was kind of like sitting at a bar, listening to some first-hand account detective stories over drinks. This is a nice collection of stories about a detective who always gets the job done. A bit cheesy here and there, but entertaining nonetheless.
