Thank you Jane Desfosse for my complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review! This is more than just a YA romance because this has a little suspense with some paranormal tendencies. I adored this book! Jane Desfosse writes a great YA novel. Now I am not a young adult so I kept that in mind while reading a reviewing this book. I guarantee there is one part of this book you will google to see if there is such a thing. I just can't tell you what that is.

This was definitely a different kind of romance for me. I don’t usually read books with magical realism or paranormal activity so it was so refreshing to read this book. It is a young adult romance though, so you will see a lot of teenager’s angst and family drama in the story, which I enjoy reading. The book itself reads as a quick-paced; if it wasn’t for my busy schedule I would have finished it in a day or two. Overall, the premise of the story was very good! For me, the beginning was a little slow, it picked up around the end of part 2 and part 3 kept me reading. I know this is young adult romance which I usually do not read but I would’ve liked more drama and connection between Stavros and Addie, like Bella and Edward in Twilight. If you like YA romance though, I would recommend this one.

I just finished and I have to say that this is more than a young adult romance. It's a romance for the ages. There's "out of this world" kind of love with heart break and teenage angst. It was suspenseful with a little bit of "dark magic" thrown in. For those who believe in the twin flame connection, you will not be disappointed! I adored this book. A unique concept which captured me. I love magical realism and the paranormal aspects of this young love story was written cleverly. I always reach for books that contain a bit of spiritualism within them and this ticked that box for me in so many ways. Looking forward to reading more by this author.

I love romance.  I'm a sucker for it, anyone who follows me knows that.  Romcoms, sappy holiday stories, and yes, all those coming of age teen movies we had back in the 80's (yeah, way back when I was growing up, now that was the good stuff).  So when the opportunity to read Jane Desfosse's debut novel Know Me arose, I was a bit nostalgic for some high school romance. You have to know that although I occasionally read the YA genre, I don't submerse myself in it, and there are a lot of themes that I love romance. You have to know that although I occasionally read the YA genre, I don't submerse myself in it, and there are a lot of themes that I don't really read on a regular basis.  One of them being magical realism.  (Yes, I read Twilight, yes I adore Harry Potter, so I'm not exactly dumb to the subject).  So going into this was a little different for me because I had to keep my mind in a place like 'ok Gina, this is not real life,' in order to critique it properly, because you know, I have to get literal about everything!   (Its the ICU nurse in me, can't help it, just don't watch medical shows with me and you will be ok). So with all that being said, I have to tell you that this book wasn't bad!!  I read it in the mindset of spending the day with all the teenage girls in my neighborhood back home when I visit my mom.  (The neighborhood is crawling with teen girls and when I come to town to visit, its always a gab-fest in my yard or front porch with all of them!  I look forward to it all the time, plus its nice to know they still think I'm a kid, which I hardly am).   Adelaide is a sweet character who just reminds me so much of myself when I was young, and you really find her likable and relatable.  The story is more than a romance, of course because it goes off on to some magical realism and some paranormal activity, which is where you have to bear in mind that this is fiction and remind yourself that this is why shows like "Charmed" and "Supernatural" did so well.  The touch of "dark magic" certainly makes it unique. For someone like me, the storyline is like anything out of everyday life, realistic, normal, just like an average day.  The characters and their surroundings come to life and you are submerged in the environment as if you are there.  So if you can take a book with good bones, the romance you usually love, and then "go outside of your box" just a little bit and throw in some paranormal and magical stuff just for fun, and then like it......well this one is for you.  I can see the girls in the neighborhood loving this book.  It is so right up their alley.  This is all the stuff they talk about, watch on tv, and gossip about constantly.   I finished this with a smile on my face. In the end,  I'm still not a fantasy person, its just not my genre, but that's just me.   I liked the book, don't get me wrong, I highly recommend it if this is your thing, you'll love it!!  It was perfect for the YA magical realism scene, but I'm sorry Jane, as great as this was you didn't convert me.....not YET!  (Don't take it personal, nobody has)  Keep writing them and I'll keep reviewing.  I bet if you throw in some ICU/ medical drama in the next one you will have me hook, line and sinker!!  (Oh, now isn't that an idea, YA romance with magical realism, paranormal and a serious medical/ICU twist).  I may not be converted but that doesn't mean I won't read YA/fantasy again. It also doesn't mean I didn't appreciate this book for what it was, an awesome debut by a new author.  I do think Jane's counseling career gives her some insight on what these kids really like, she is very in touch with them.  I truly appreciate this genre, and I understand why it is so well loved.  This is one I would definitely recommend.  For me, I have to give it 3 stars.  Great job!  I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next. Thank you to Jane Desfosse' and Kate Rock Book Tours for my copy of this book for my honest and unbiased opinion.

This is the first YA paranormal romance I’ve read in a long time. I am so happy I listened when a friend recommended this book. I love it when a girl gets the boy of her dreams – literally. I’m not going to give you any spoilers, but I will say I had all the feelings as I read it. It is my favorite YA debut novel. It gets a little confusing in the beginning but stick with it the author finds her groove and everything is tied up in the end. You are gonna love it.

I've read my fair share of young adult novels and romances, but as I sat down to read Jane Desfosee's Know Me, I knew from the first page that her book packed a unique punch. A debut novel, Know Me tells the story of Adelaide Lecroix, 17. When readers first meet her, Adelaide has been in a hiking accident that has affected her in numerous ways, from a large scar on her face and some hazy memories, to dreams of a mysterious boy who speaks to her not only in her dreams, but also in her day-to-day life. Shortly after she begins having these dreams and hearing this voice, she meets a handsome new boy named Stavros at school, and if she's not mistaken, he may just be the man of both her literal and figurative dreams. As Addie learns more about Stavros and realizes how many physical and emotional characteristics they share, she is quickly swept off her feet. Stavros is handsome, thoughtful, a talented soccer player and a great listener, but as they spend more time together, Addie can't help but notice there's something sad and mysterious about this boy she's falling in love with. Could her Prince Charming be harboring a dark secret? Know Me is not your typical young adult romance. Imbued with paranormal and New Age characteristics, as well as touches of magical realism and "black magic," this novel contains some unexpected twists and turns that definitely make it stand out. It's one of the most unique young adult novels I've ever read, and while I haven't read a lot of magical realism or fantasy books, I found myself pulled into this book because I couldn't wait to see how it all panned out. I could also really relate to Adelaide; a sweet, innocent, likable girl, Addie has dreams of falling in love but is scared it may never happen, and that's something I remember struggling with in high school, myself. This is a unique, layered debut novel, and if you're a fan of young adult romance and magical realism, you should definitely give it a try! The Kindle version is currently available for .99 cents, so head over to Amazon and snap it up today! Thank you to @janedesfossebooks and @katerockbooktours for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review!

My Thoughts: Oh young love. I'm sure in high school we all wished we could have the man of our dreams. Literally. Well lucky Adelaide/Addie does get him. Did you ever read the Twilight Series? Remember how Edward felt that his love for Bella would never work out because of the whole being a vampire issue? Remember how you rooted for them and their steamy romance? This is much of the same. Things never get really hot and heavy in this book, but it does make you want more romance. Things are going we My Thoughts: Oh young love. Things never get really hot and heavy in this book, but it does make you want more romance. Things are going well for Addie and Stravos, but he always seems like he's in pain when they are together. All the sudden something forbidden is having him break it off with Addie. This is why it reminded me of Twilight. Typical boy can't handle his personal issues, so he breaks it off without a good reason why. Of course Addie is upset, especially when Stravos throws out the "we can still be friends" line. Oh for the love! This is where the romance stops and they magical realism begins. You see Addie hasn't always been called Addie. Same goes with Stravos. This part in the book lost me for a minute because I do not read magical realism anything. I was glad it all came full circle in the end, and I was not left with any questions. I did think this was a quick read and I liked all the high school relationship talk. If you like a good romance with a little magic, then look no further. Thank you @katerockbooktours and @janedefossé for letting me be on this book tour. Book Rating: 🍷🍷🍷1/2🍷

I received a copy of Know Me from the author Jane Desfosse' in exchange for my honest opinion. This is a YA magical romance. The main character Adelaide undergoes an accident, encounters unseen forces, is a teenager so there is a lot of confusion for her about what is happening, what is real and what might be paranoia. We are pulled into her confusion as well. So while this is a romance, it is also includes some element of mystery as we don't understand the large picture until all the pieces unravel. We get to be included in Adelaide's own journey of healing, understanding herself and asking why things were happening the way they were -- all very relatable themes for any human. I enjoy YA, but I tend towards books without magical realism so this was a different genre for me mixing that with romance, but it was enjoyable. Without giving away spoilers, the end goal of what Adelaide's journey culminates in - an understanding of her life's purpose is interesting and meaningful.

KNOW ME by Jane Defosse is a YA Romance. Adelaide/Addie and her brother Jake are hiking when she falls and rolls down the hiking trail. While she is unconscious she sees and talks to her grandparents that have been dead for several years. When she awakes she finds herself in the hospital with a concussion and a scar on her cheek. At 17 Addie wants to fall in love and now feels the scar will prevent anyone from loving her. In her dreams she keeps hearing a guys voice and at times sees him. This is such a good story!! As you read it, you really CARE about the characters. The book has everything...humor, pathos, romance, and even mysterious, paranormal happenings. It's told in the voice of a teenage girl, and Ms. Desfosse, the author, leads you to predict what is going to happen. However, the storyline is so clever that you find out all your predictions are dead wrong!! Very enjoyable, and I highly recommend it! This is such a good story!! A Magical Romance Such a sweet, magical YA romance. I did find the beginning a little confusing, but stick with it. It pays off in the end. I enjoyed the twists that kept it from being a typical high school drama. A great debut novel. I look forward to reading more from this author.
