Love impressions by Sangita Saikia contains two different stories.  The first story is about the Love that bloomed between a British doctor Andrew Parker and Shria Pandit. They seemed to be an intimate couple and there were no conflicts between them as most of their choices were in sync.  Andrew was supposed to travel to his land as a golden opportunity knocks his door. He leaves Shria at her father's place and travels to England. There comes a situation when Andrew meets his old crush. What happens next is rest of the story. It is a kind of love and loss journey. The second story is about Meghan Sarma. He gets married to the love of his love. Due to his selfish decisions he loses his wife and his only daughter. What happens next is rest of the story.  Both the stories focus on love and the loses and the impressions of love and the loss. The language is lucid. I felt that it was a very slow read. For me,it almost took a few days to complete the whole book. Could have been more precise and crispy!

LOVE IMPRESSIONS – SANGITA SAIKIA PUBLISHED BY NOTION PRESS ·        2 Short stories both depicting love and loss. ·        Both stories have people falling in love making mistakes realising their loss then feeling remorseful . ·        The pacing is quite good and there are about 125 pages and I could easily finish in a single sitting. ·        It’s written more as statements than as dialogues which is how I Prefer to read !!

Love Impressions by Sangita is a collection of two short stories, both dealing with the idea of love and loss in their own way. I liked the concept of the novel but, the writing style was not for me. There weren't any dialogues, just statements. That was a little off-putting. Both the stories manage to capture the attention of the reader. But, holding that attention was the trickier part. The pace was insanely fast. Yes, the stories were supposed to be short, but there was little to no build-up. In my brutally honest opinion, the book had immense potential. It could have been way better if the ideas had been executed more comprehensively and engagingly. Unfortunately for me, this book was a miss.
