When fiction reads like an adventure novel. What a brilliant read. Amelia is truly deserving of the accolades, hero, icon and trendsetter. Amelia truly was, and still remains so wonderfully inspirational to all women and men alike. She pushed herself to the ultimate limits, and sadly paid the ultimate price. This book truly reads like a best selling fictional adventure novel, which adds a lot of credit to this author, but so much more importantly to the impeccable Amelia Earhart herself. Amelia Earhart was one of the few female pilots of her time. She set about breaking records and disappeared trying to fly around the world in the late ‘30s. The mystery of her disappearance has never been solved. I didn’t know much about her life, and this 44-page biography about a true adventurer was interesting and concise. I hope they solve the mystery someday.

Just the facts Well-written and easy to follow the life of Earhart. Ups and downs of her life, as well as what I'm finding is the success of one from a broken home, and a loser father. I hate the conspiracy theories, but understand the need in this material. Just the facts Well-written and easy to follow the life of Earhart. A quick read about one of the most famous women of the 20th century.I learned a few things I hadn't known before. I also liked how they mention the various theories about her disappearance, while not convincing the reader to subscribe to any certain one. Born in Atchison, Kansas, Earhart developed a passion for adventure at a young age, steadily gaining flying experience from her twenties. In 1928, Earhart became the first female passenger to cross the Atlantic by airplane (accompanying pilot Wilmer Stultz), for which she achieved celebrity status. She achieved greatness in spite of a challenging childhood with inconsistent circumstances and issues with her father's alcoholism. In 1932, Earhart made a nonstop solo transatlantic flight, becoming the first woman to achieve such a feat. She received the United States Distinguished Flying Cross for this accomplishment. In 1935, Earhart became a visiting faculty member at Purdue University in aeronautical engineering. She was also a member of the National Woman's Party and an early supporter of the Equal Rights Amendment. During an attempt to make a circumnavigational flight of the globe in 1937, Earhart and navigator Fred Noonan disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island. The book from Kindle Unlimited at best scratches the surface of an amazing life.

An American Giant I enjoyed this book very much. While I have heard much about Amelia Earhart, this book helped to organize my knowledge about Amelia Earhart. I just wish that the author had gone into greater detail about her personality. However, I still enjoyed this book very much.

Decent, quick bio of Earhart Nice to see a short bio, more engaging than reading a wiki entry. Does address the search for her plane/body, but most interesting part was about her childhood.
