(4.5 stars) - can't help falling in love This reminded me, in a good way, of the author's Billionaire Marriage Brokers series. Xavier is struggling to manage his life & take care of his son since his wife died. Providence leads Emily to him. They are a nearly perfect complementary fit for each other. This is a story that you know up front is a fairytale, and definitely in the way it ends, too; but it's done well enough that it requires no effort to just go along with it & enjoy it - which I total (4.5 stars) - can't help falling in love This reminded me, in a good way, of the author's Billionaire Marriage Brokers series. Cute! This is a cute fake to real love story. It's light, easy reading that doesn't delve too deep emotionally. Likable characters. 3.5 stars, rounding up. Content: kissing. Xavier is a country songwriter who is struggling to find the music while also trying to manage taking care of his son and their home. He decides that to save his career he needs to put out a wanted ad for a wife. Emily, a yoga instructor who is no longer comfortable at her job, can't get the ad out of her mind and applies on a whim. Lucy Mcconnell just took something so simple as want/ISO ads and make it into a lovely sweet romance/marriage of convenience book. I really enjoyed fake romances but Xavier is a country songwriter who is struggling to find the music while also trying to manage taking care of his son and their home. I really enjoyed fake romances but was new to marriage of convenience stories. I was so pleasently happy with it. I love how Emily just had the sweetest tones to her but still allowed for some sass and standing up for herself. If you like books with romance, family, following dreams, and inspiring others you will fall in love hard with this book in this set. I highly reccomend it. Readers be aware of: At the beginning there is a small couple paragraphs of harassment/attempted assault that could cause some to be uncomfortable, so something to keep in mind. It doesn't go into too much detail and is only mildly referenced after that.

2.5 stars…First off, the MCs never had a fake marriage. They had a marriage of convenience but were legally married so the title is misleading. Second, after being assaulted by a perv, Emily decided to get married to a complete stranger, who could have also been a creepy perv. So her logic was way off and reasoning made no sense. Xavier was frustrating and everything was unrealistic at best. I liked their story well enough and thought Cody was cute. Can’t say I’ll be reading from this author aga 2.5 stars…First off, the MCs never had a fake marriage. They had a marriage of convenience but were legally married so the title is misleading. The title doesn’t do it justice, I’m not big on cowboys but I really liked The Small Town Preacher’s Fake Marriage so I decided to give it a try and I really liked it! This is a single dad romance! The son has pre-diabetes and the dad is really worried (which is really sweet!). He is so worried about his son and their chaotic lives that he puts an ad out for a wife, basically someone to help them both live healthier lives. I loved Emily's character! He is so worried about his son and their chaotic lives that he puts an ad out for a wife, basically someone to help them both live healthier lives. I loved Emily's character! She was a yoga instructor and she ate pretty healthy too. I loved how she got Cody to exercise by biking around the neighborhood with her. I loved how she help them to declutter their lives in so many ways. She did do it literally but I felt like Xavier was holding on to so much of the past but didn't realize it since he was "in a fog". Xavier was pretty charming. Although I didn't like how he couldn't figure out how to be a dad even after seven years. Cody was a cutie pie! He and Emily worked well together. I just love that too when the girlfriend or in this case wife work well with the kid and they don't push the kid away but closer to make a cute family! Reader’s Beware for Trigger: There is attempted assault which personally made me so uncomfortable I skipped it which wasn’t too bad since it was only a few paragraphs. I know that some might not be uncomfortable but for those other reader’s like me I just wanted to let you know. After the scene though it does get sporadically mentioned since it was the reason she answered the ad in the first place. Clean romance content: kissing I actually read this book on KU about a year ago but recently found it on Booksprout. I had only reviewed it on Goodreads and Bookbub but the author needed a review on Amazon if you were to get the review copy. So this review now is beefier than the last because I want the author to get a review worth while. I received a copy via Booksprout and am leaving an honest review.

Xavier was a mess. He had lost his ability to write music and he needed some help. In desperation, he submitted an ad for a wife; a purely platonic relationship. He needed someone to take care of his six year old son and create a home without the messiness of a real relationship. He was surprised when he received an application from Emily. She seemed normal and not a whack job. The more time Emily spent with Cody and with Xavier, the more Xavier great to have feelings for her. The more easily his Xavier was a mess. She seemed normal and not a whack job. The more time Emily spent with Cody and with Xavier, the more Xavier great to have feelings for her. The more easily his music was to create. But those feelings made things messy and complicated and when he drew back into himself and pushed Emily away, the music left and his life felt empty. Was it worth the risk to his heart to love again? Would losing Emily leave an even bigger hole in his heart than the death of his first wife? I listened to the audiobook version of this story and I enjoyed it very much. It was a clean and wholesome and appropriate for anyone looking for a feel good story with a happy ending.

A good story. For most of it, I was drawn in. It was a compelling story. Then it reached a point where I felt like a door was slammed into my face: it broke my heart. Still, I was compelled to skip forward to see how it ended. Only then I was able to finish the story. For how well the majority of the story went, I wasn't fully satisfied with the last few chapters. Entertaining. Happily Ever After. Romantic. Scary. Tear-jerker. Tragic. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters. I received a review copy o A good story. For most of it, I was drawn in. I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Songwriter Xavier has not been able to write since his wife died, and his son is pre-diabetic so when his agent suggests he remarry he puts an ad in the paper for a wife. Physical therapist, Emily answers the ad and marries him mostly to be a mom to his son. The plot involves growing love, caring for a family, and learning to trust. An interesting and uplifting book.

Love her marriage-of-convenience tales A clean romance beginning with a desperate single father sick of surviving and placing an ad in the paper for a wife. He never dreamed he'd get so lucky as to have Emily answer his ad and his needs. They're cute together and the son is adorable. Instead of a paragraph recap, I would've liked a resolution scene about the incident that drove her to answer the ad, but that'd a minor detail. I enjoyed it and I can't wait for the one. Sweet Romance Emily loved her job until a guy assaulted her at work, so she quit. As she was looking for a job she found an ad for a man looking for a platonic wife to take care of his kiddo. She felt good about it, so she called. This started a fantastic, albeit slow love song. I loved little Cody! I also loved the ending! There were a few typos, but not too many to be distracting!

The Songwriter finds his Song again Wow, this was an amazing story and I was unable to put it down until I finished. Finding hope and his song in Emily, while Xavier's son, Cory found a mother & love with Emily that transformed his health. A must read! Such a sweet romance! I really enjoyed this one, my first by this author, but not my last. The couple were so cute and characters well developed. Pacing was perfect with them starting out with a marriage of convenience and his son. Writing was mature and just so well done! Moving on to the second book of this series. Great job!
