When a bad-tempered werecougar ends up dead at the market, the fortune teller that predicted her death is the main suspect. As usual, though, Emma has another opinion on the matter and is determined to clear the suspect's name and keep Spellbound tourism from becoming another casualty. Really, it's bizarre the way pregnancy is portrayed. I put up with the Pollyanna because I like the world, but REALLY. This is not what pregnancy looks like. Oh the joys of pregnancy are never ending (at least it feels that way) Wonderful and I loved the way the shortfalls of being pregnant are used in the story and I must admit it did make me chuckle. A great plot - the town saviour and lawyer (married to the resident angel) and very, very pregnant has a case to solve (probably her last one before her maternity leave starts). A murder of one of the stall holders at the World Market that has come into town. The dead woman was aggressive, rude and obnoxious but she is sure that the person arrested isn't the killer. Magic potions, heartburn, evidence that others had fights with the dead woman, feeling like the largest whale in existence, a power hungry temp lawyer, a ghost vampire bent on keeping her healthy and a gorgeous angel are all woven into a plot that might be the end of her and her unborn child. Will they catch the killer? Will either the mother or child survive? Are there surprises and shocks to come?

As usual, I thoroughly enjoyed this story like I have from every book in this series. You know how some people say they wish they lived in the Harry Potter universe? I want to exist in Spellbound!!

Every single book she almost gets killed and someone has to happen by to save her. Does she ever learn? No, never does the story line change from book to book. The lowest self esteem and highest self delusion of any cozy heroine I've read. I know the author is stretching things to churn out more books, but please move it along character wise. It's free with Prime is all I can say. But the whole thing is boring me to death at this point. At least learn a few hard lessons or change up each book's plot a bit.

Big changes for Spellbound! The residents of Spellbound now have the opportunity to revel in pop culture references and everyday minutia until a most inconvenient murder occurs. Swollen ankles, compromised balance, and imminent motherhood won't keep Emma off the killer's trail to save her husband's job and her client's freedom. I enjoy my visits to Spellbound and the characters there, but Emma seems to be regressing into inanity. In the last couple of books she has been a bit of a dingbat. Hopef Big changes for Spellbound! Love, hate This will always be a top favorite series of mine but I hate that Emma constantly puts herself in danger. Thought it would be different because she was with child but no such luck. Of course Daniel says nothing because he’s so in love with her. Let’s not forget to mention her routine revelation of who the murderer is while having a causal conversation with someone. Ugh, but still I love it.

A surprisingly suspenseful tale Even though Emma is still the dullest tool in the shed and the dimmest bulb on the chandelier, the story was still pretty good. Once you got past all the eye rolls her character elicits, you’re left with a surprisingly suspenseful tale. On to book 6.

Still loving the further adventures of Emma and Daniel...and Gareth, hellcat and the rest. That was quite a little stinger on the end, so now I need to rush into the next book and find out what happens next! Another delightful read from Annabel Chase. Naturally there's a murder and naturally our (our very pregnant!) heroine or attorney has to solve it. But will she manage before the baby comes? And will the baby be a girl or a boy? Will he or she be normal, good or evil? My only complaint would be the ending. Not exactly a cliffhanger but...close enough to be a minor irritant because I have to wait for the next book to come out! Another delightful read from Annabel Chase. Another amazing book about Spellbound Annabel Chase it's the best of the best I the cozy mystery genre and the Spellbound series are my favorites. Stay with the Spellbound series before Spellbound Ever After series. All books in both series are stand-alone but understanding the backstory is helpful. The writing its unique and I feel like Emma is a dear friend at this point. A delight! Ms. Chase has perfected the cozy mystery. Each of her series and books is the perfect blend, of mystery, humor, clean romance and action. Though they are cozies, it doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of oddball characters and sarcasm, which makes the books so much more entertaining. It was a great read and we finally meet the hybrid baby!

Quite fun Great story and fun dialog. Interesting mystery. A few characters had some really great parts. I do think the head werewolf needs to get over it all ready. But he only has a bit part. Super excited to see what the next book has to offer.
