We will mine these stories for womanist tenets of traditional communalism (community wholeness), radical subjectivity (she matters), redemptive self-love (loving oneself regardless-bodycentric), and critical engagement (confronting the Powers).

    I felt there was some stretching here and there, but I appreciate the focus on women in different ways, consideration of women that have been largely overlooked, and emphasis on social justice. I’d recommend it for a fresh perspective.
