A bristly veterinarian who prefers animals to people… She’s more interested in his dog’s looks than the detective’s. And she has good reason for those feelings. She also has a secret that could ruin her practice, should it get out. A secret she’s vowed not to share, no matter what. She can talk to animals… Well, not talk, precisely. She feels them. There’s a connection. Should it get out, it could label her delusional, ruin her reputation and shatter her life. The only witness who can ID the rapist… Is a dog. Now, Macy’s secret is in danger, because she has no choice but to share it. She must find a way to make the smoking hot detective believe her. But there’s more danger than she knows, as the criminal draws near, seeking to silence her and her gift, for good. *This is a novella-length story, part of Maggie’s “Fun-Size Reads” collection. **This is a bit sexier than the author’s usual fare.

Super short read about a Dr Dolittle heroine and cop hero. I honestly, don't like when villains get a POV. Super short read about a Dr Dolittle heroine and cop hero. I honestly, don't like when villains get a POV.

Good story But it ended a little quicker than I wanted. I loved that Macy can "talk" with animals. Jay is one of the good guys, a detective trying to catch a serial rapist. I loved the scenes between them and the ones with her and the animals. The ending came too quickly, in my opinion. The pace is fast, the tone is more uncertain, the storyline is character oriented with some action and steamy scenes. The characters are vivid, including the animals. Short but awe so sweet Cute premise, interesting story, hot alpha male, strong but quirky vet who is great with animal but lacking social skills with people. Instant love but it works in this story that has some seriously bad things happening in the neighborhood. HEA. Moving on to another nook by this author!
