Andrew clearly did that when she burst on to the scene earlier this year with her first series. So far her books have been more of the horror/paranormal variety. This book was a bit of a change from the genre that Andrews has become known for. Firmly planting herself into the college scene with a magical paranormal story that reveals another side to her talent. With younger characters, there should be distinct pettiness and other dramas. There is yet, there is the flair that allows them to shine and show readers they aren't just there for today. They want a future and I love the comradeship that comes naturally before the deeper bonds which makes this In an alternative world, supernaturals and humans live side by side, however supernaturals have their own rules and regulations , hiding in plain sight. Anything is possible if you know the right person and Wishing for them , opens up the realm of supernaturals with a girl who deems herself as ordinary. A humble little fairy who about to get awakening of a lifetime. It's the classic story of poor verse rich, however things aren't clear cut. Rhia got a story of a lifetime. It's not sunshine and her journey is one that is significant. She faces a lot in this book. Her identity , her choices and many other things are called in question. It’s not easy feat tackling these issues and Andrews makes sure to treat them with proper care Whilst it's a departure in some ways for this new series . The creativeness that Andrews is known for, is clearly evident. The pieces are slowly joined together allowing readers to form an opinion of this world and her story on their time. Readers are introduced to Rhia as a someone who dreams big but is hampered . Her story is not a poor me, but one of resilience , she never back down even when faced with a situation that could change course of things. It’s an interesting first book , filled with drama and intrigue, the book has been setup to be left with a few what’s if that will have readers pondering for a while. As things may be clear cut on some things, others it’s seemed that Rhia still going to be wishing for it seems. For more of my reviews, visit Thoughts by Tash. And drop by the blog's Facebook page

I enjoy reading Ellabee's work. She is a very gifted author with a bright future in writing. This book has a promising start, but.... Yes, but... It fell short. Will I continue the series? Absolutely. I wish the characters had more depth, and the world building was more substantial. There is still time for the character building and structure to be shaped. I think it was a decent idea to build drama with the characters, but that kind of insecurity in a guy is a turnoff. I didn't think it suited the character at all either. I liked the characters (especially Declan *before*). With Maksim, I want to see more revolving around his history. He's the last one. What happened to his family? This is the opportunity to build this magical universe.

Ellabee’s ability at creating a unique story-line and characters is part of the enthrall of this story. I loved Rhiannon from the start, the way she handles life’s struggles, triumphs, and the obstacles thrown before her; she is regal in overcoming these things. I do like how she has everyday struggles and is not “prefect” heroine; from roommate crushes, to the hotties she encounters, and her reactions to them! She is a relatable character, and this makes the reader fall in love with her more! I love her attitude towards the “mean” girl crew of the school and her method of dealing with them too, get ready for giggles and rolling around on the floor for some of the antics! Rhia’s crew is a mixture of smexy, delicious, and scrumptious delights 😊! Her roomie Satine the Succubus, who shows true loyalty beneath her sensual b**th veneer, and she is one of my personal favs! Her harem of men, wowzer, please hold your unders with these gents 😊! We first get the pleasure of being introduced to the lucky Leprechaun Declan, who initially you love, then mid book hate; so, prepare yourselves to wanna throat punch the guy, but that just might change by the end 😊! Moving down the lovely Rhia’s list of followers is the guarding stone man himself, a Gargoyle, yes, a man of stone… but not his heart so never fear; Garvail. Oh, who can forget the smoldering hot lava man, who will melt your hearts …Makism. Our fearsome group befriends our leading lady in her time of need at a new school. Aradia Academy where she is snubbed because she is a “scholarship” lottery entry… and I’m sure you can imagine the struggle there! In the midst of her attending Academy, we learn of her magical detention; the lack of her power’s abilities, which are on permanent lock-down *thanks dad*. The Dean learns of this dilemma then proceeds to find a viable solution. Rhia is required by the Dean to attend special training with the one true Fairy Godmother over Winter Solstice; no worries her whole crew travels with her! The plot gives way to twist, turns, and shockers that will leave you yelling in total rage at your kindle (and the author 😉)… but will subside to other emotions and enlightenment of this quirky menagerie crew! This is a complete recommend!

This was a great book! I loved the main character, Rhia, and all of her friends/tentative lovers, Sentine, Maks, Gavril, and Declan. They were all friends first, which I liked, and cared for each other deeply. The book ends with a very interesting development (not a cliffhanger though) and I am so excited to read book two! I liked the idea of it, I liked that it explored supernatural creatures outside the norm (for which I thank the author, because this genre can get a bit boring otherwise). Overall I thought there was a lot of potential here. That said, there is a lot wrong with the writing, and I had a really hard time as a result. I found the writting to be monotonous. It lacked a natural flow both in the narraration and the dialogue. It was wooden and blocky, and unnatural. As a note to the author, maybe try reading out loud. It may help you determine if the writing is smooth and natural sounding. Writing, esspecially dialogue, should still flow like a normal conversation or thought would, and that's very lacking in this book in my opinion. Also, as much as I appreciated the author branching out with the characters species, I was so dissapointed because there was extremely little character development for any of them, including the main character. They were all very one dimensional, shallow, and static. This bored me and turned me off. Adding to this, the relationships between the harem members and the main character were equally superificial and lacking in development. I can see moments where the author tries to develop the main character, so I'll credit for that. The problem is that this is very superificial development. It seemed to me like the author was trying to give the main character some more "badass" strong lead qualities, but these moments seemed really forced and fake, and didn't match up with the way she was quite meak and unsure the rest of the time. The author also seemed compelled to rationalize and defend every single thing in this book. By that I mean that every line needed to be justified or explained, when these explainations/justifications are already very clearly and obviously implied. This is incredibly irritating and bogs down the writing. Frankly I can tell for myself that so and so is nodding in answer to the question that character just asked, you don't need to explicitly tell me. I can tell so and so is doubtfull, otherwise they wouldn't be asking that question, you don't need to point that out. Possibly the strangest and most annoying aspect of this book was this; the majority of it is told after the fact. By this I mean the author would casually mention that oh this happened, or oh that happened. I felt like the only plot I as a reader actually experienced, was the least significant specks. Meanwhile it seems like a lot that was casually just mentioned would have gone a long way in allowing character development, or adding to the plot. As a reader, I read not for a recap, but for the experience, and I feel cheated. Overall, this book came off as very amature. Good ideas, poor execution. In all fairness, a lot of people will probably appreciate this book and its charm. I can absolutely see the potential in this series and especially in this author. I am interested in seeing this author grow and learn, and make those really cool ideas come to life.

I really enjoyed Ellabee Andrews zombie books but I rarely read or stick with books that are leaning towards YA or just a younger audience, with that in mind besides the brief mix of mean girl antics I really did enjoy the story and characters. I'm impatiently waiting for the next book to release so I can delve deeper into this new adventure.

Great start to a new series! This was a thoroughly enjoyable, and unique, read! There are fairies, leprechauns, gargoyles, succubus, and other supernaturals at the college that Rhia will be attending. Rhia just wants to keep her head down and get through her classes, but a group full of hotties and one very wicked witch, ensure college is more exciting than she expected! Very much look forward to book 2 in the series!

Absolutely brilliant I want to be Rhia! This girl is so strong and stands up for herself and her willingness to help her friends is amazing, the way it has been written is just as amazing. I really hope there are more to come on this as I would to see her grow along with her friends.

I was expecting a little crazy but that was insane and I loved it. A little over the top fighting back against the bullies. The plot line was interesting and the characters were great and different. Favourite character was Maks. Dec needs to get with the program and Fifi was a nice addition. Looking forward to reading the next one.

This was one of the loveliest fantasy stories ever! I fell in love with the story and the characters already on page one and I only loved them more and more as the story progressed. The funny thing is that I usually don't read about students from magical academies, however, since I knew and loved this author before, I started the book without even knowing what it was about! And as expected, the author took me to this wonderful adventure with some of the most lovable characters ever written. The story revolves around the central character Rhia, who is a fairy with beautiful wings and fairy dust, and her four friends Satine, Maxim, Gavril and Declan, and all the adventures and emotions they experience together (I am deliberately excluding what kind of supernatural creatures the other four are). And there is a lot happening with this interesting crew of young supernaturals. The Academy is harsh to Rhia, and by extension things are not easy for her friends either, but they stick together no matter what. Nothing can separate them, not even all kinds of strong and confusing feelings. I can't say more without giving spoilers, so I'll stop here. And did I mention that they are all so freaking adorable? The author's writing is engaging and her characters are wonderfully developed and consistent. They are strong and determined and fiercely loyal to each other. And there is a Fairy Godmother, loving, kind, protective, and fabulous. The rest of the characters are mostly neutral with some seriously evil exceptions, and the author created the evil ones with style, horror, and made them pure evil.  As I said, I got hooked on the story immediately, fell in love with the characters, and had to take a break from the book two to write this. I couldn't recommend this more. Next book is Wishes To Burn (A Fairy Godmother In Training Book 2).

Rhia is a snarky heroine, who can't just throw her fairy magic around for reasons which will become apparent later in the book. On a scholarship to an offensively snobby academy for adult paranormal students of university age, she is having a terrible time of it. Almost everyone hates her immediately, just for being poor. It seems that wealthy people are just horrific, for no particular reason and hardly any of them are civilised in the slightest so there's plenty of antagonists for her to face. It seems that wealthy people are just horrific, for no particular reason and hardly any of them are civilised in the slightest so there's plenty of antagonists for her to face. Lots of attempts to bully her, which Rhia deals with reasonably well. The harem she builds protect her as best they can. This is a slow-burn reverse harem so don't go into it expecting steam on every page, however, by the second and third book, there's a lot more to satisfy in that department, so if you like it, hang on in for the ride! No innuendo intended. I liked Rhia, and the female member of her harem. It seems quite rare for female led harem books to have any women in the harem, at all. It's also interesting that this is a lesbian harem member, and the chaps are all straight. I hope to see more reverse-harem/female led harems, which include women. Rhias main conflict comes with people who really don't want her at the school and there's little magical classroom stuff which may or may not please some readers. I'd recommend reading the whole trilogy, especially if you like the steamy scenes since it's the later books you'll find that in.

First book I read from this author, so I had no expectations to start off with. However the characters are almost the same in the first chapter as the last. It does sometimes feel a bit rushed, like the author wanted to cover the year, so she skipped months at the time. We hardly know what she is studying or how it is going, we only focus on the moments her life is in danger or something happens between her and one of the other characters. I would have loved some more background information, world building. It was also a bit strange that two people agree to discuss something and than they never do, it could be because they won't really want to know what the other has to say, but it seemed a bit strange for adults to be like that. All in all a pretty decent read. I will pick up book 2.

Off to school In this book, we follow Rhia to a prestigious academy for magical beings. The first in her family to attend, she gets there on a scholarship. The first scholarship. Rhia not only has to deal with snobby rich jerks, but also with the schooling and someone who's out to harm her. Sounds like a regular college experience huh? Well, maybe not! I really enjoyed this book. There were a lot of different beings in this book that strayed from the typical paranormal themes. I love unique books. The surrounding characters were a lot of fun as well. Overall I would recommend this book!

AWESOME I’d definitely recommend reading this book, I sat and read it in one sitting. The book had a great storyline that had depth and awesome visualisation that sucked you in to a magical world. Plus there were LOL moments aswell to top it off! Declan - is a leprechaun that teases and flirts. Maksim - sweet mother of God. Burns hot and sweet as all hell. Satine - woah! I'm straight. But if I found her IRL, even id go gay for her. Holy sweet mother of God! I enjoyed this series. As you can tell. I'm glad I stumbled upon this in my recommended books on KU.

If you are looking for a author that delivers everytime, keep Ellabee Andrews at the top of the list!! I loved this so much. She has created such a world, with unique characters and a storyline that kept me entertained. The female lead Rhia, I liked her from the start. She seems like she is so relatable, her reactions are some that I found myself agreeing with. The boys, Declan, Satine, Makism and Garvail seem to be the just what Rhia needs. Their dynamic is easy flowing. Overall Wishing for The If you are looking for a author that delivers everytime, keep Ellabee Andrews at the top of the list!! I loved this so much. Entertaining but very loose story I liked the characters, I just wish there was more substance to the story. Part way through I found myself wondering what the plot of the book was and if we ever going to get there. I also disliked the insta-love/friendship aspect of it. There’s really nothing special about the MC - she doesn’t offer anything to her new friends. I’m not saying that you have to give to get but I really am perplexed why so many attractive, 20 year old heirs and heiress (SPOILER ALE Entertaining but very loose story I liked the characters, I just wish there was more substance to the story. Rhia had a crazy attraction to roommate Satine who is a succubus. The first to help Rhia is Declan, the leprechaun Prince. Declan aways has a small on and is always cracking a joke. The handsome gargoyle Gavril has no problem standing up for Rhia. And Maksim last of his kind aways keeping his emotions in check but cares for Rhia. Fliippy fairies I really like this story. Reading this I imagined all the players. If this ever gets turned into a movie I hope Fifi is played by Rupaul as she is fabulous! One of my favorite parts is where he throws the cookie across the lunch room....had me laughing a little too hard as it's something I would do. What made this 3 stars for me is sadly all the typos in this book. I get one or two as even the beat miss something, this book has many. Every other page. Fantastic! The author brings the characters to life in such a way they seemed so realistic to me. Her descriptions are flawless and you can image everything so clearly I was so there. And if you can read this without totally girl crushing on Satine, something is wrong lol. I hope the author is a fast writer I need to see where this goes! This is a fantastic read! I had so much fun reading this book!

I had read Andrew’s Sightless before this, and while the books have completely different feel to them they are both well written and original. I really liked Rhia - she is a strong girl, and has adjusted to having her magic be limited. Her harem - Maksim, Satine, Gavril, & Declan are all unique. I like how Rhia stands up for herself and others, but isn’t above a little revenge either. I will definitely be check out book 2!

Fun I need more Fifi in my life! Ellabee Andrew's did a wonderful job of creating a unique set of characters. This book is well written with an interesting plot line. It's a very slow burn so if your looking for lots of sexy times, this might not be the book for you. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of sparks flying and some hot kiss scenes. I am looking forward to seeing what book 2 brings. Fun I need more Fifi in my life! Ellabee Andrew's did a wonderful job of creating a unique set of characters. Good story and excellent writing Interesting twist on the whole "Fairy Godmother" story. This first book is slow burn with setting up the relationships and characters. It is pretty fast paced story wise. The title headings made me laugh at times. It's a different twist so far on RH as well with a female as part as well. I'm guessing we see how the come together in the next book. Good story and excellent writing Interesting twist on the whole "Fairy Godmother" story.
