Absolutely amazing second book in this wonderful series I loved Royal Dragon Bind. It was the most fabulous book and I couldn't wait to read the rest of the series. Ava's writing is lyrical, her characters are so real, and the world she has created is spectacular. The Red Letter Hotel and the Twilight Realm are complex and beautifully realised, and the different races that inhabit that world are wondrous. Everything is magical and mystical, so richly described, evocative, sumptuous, jewel-like. Everything Ava has created is multi-layered and multi-faceted - the world, the characters, the story - and nothing is exactly what it seems. I have never read anything like it and I love everything about it. The characters that we met in Royal Dragon Bind continue their story and new characters are introduced that obviously will have a part to play in Layla's story. She is learning more about her heritage and her powers but there is so much more hidden from her. We see Layla meeting and forming friendships with her new colleagues, steered in part by her mentor at the Hotel, and there is genuine warmth in the interactions between them all. She is developing a network of influential friends who may be very important to her as the story progresses but her love life is becoming complicated. As her dragon nature starts to emerge, her emotions and passions become stronger and leads to some steamy moments. There is a definite story arc to this series and each chapter pulls us further in, showing us a little bit more but leaving us wanting, just as every good book should. I am already so invested in these characters and their story and am now on to read Sea Dragon's Command. I'm sure it's going to be epic.

Layla is a Royal Dragon Bind who is so new to what she is that she still has no control over her massive magical powers or over her own dragon and she is seeking royal dragon mates. Though bound to Adrian they have not yet mated, so her dragon is sending out very strong signals to other royal dragons, many of whom are at the hotel for their next masquerade ball. The void shadow is also at the hotel, both Dusk and Adrian can feel his presence, and know the danger he poses to them all but who is he? This reverse harem dragon shifter romance novel gives us a strong and highly intelligent heroine who is the strongest royal dragon bind of the century but we have to wait for the next book to maybe see her come into her own powers and harness these to her will. I personally am dying to see her shift into her dragon form and take hold of her life and live it to the full! I am really loving this erotic series which is written with such flair and good taste, I just cannot get enough of it and am dying to get my hands on the 3rd book!

I love the stories that overlap but yet are stand alones. This story has a little of everything, sweet romance, sexy overbearing and frustrating alpha male and a beautiful woman who has the right heart and spirit. Thoroughly enjoying and entertaining.

Magic is the glue that binds the story together but the different strands, the personalities, the plot and the prose stand alone without the magic. The magic simply enhances the book in the same way a gem is enhanced by it’s polish. After coming back to the hotel after nearly killing her ex-boyfriend in her grief, lust and loneliness, Layla throws herself back into her work. She becomes closer to Dusk as they work together and their friendships thrives. She also becomes closer to her other colleagues. However, Adrian is nowhere to be found, which leaves Layla feeling abandoned once more. She is surprised when a party introducing her to several new groups of dragons is dropped on her with hours to spare. She is warned by Dusk that her dragon is searching for someone to mate with as Adrian is not available, which goes against everything in her human upbringing, despite the natures of dragons and other beings in the Twilight Realm feeling little need for monogamy. This need of her dragon’s to find someone to mate with triggers new drives and desires and new complications with her magic. It also triggers problems with Adrian when he returns. This author writes about romance, relationships and eroticism with very little actual sex occurring. This series is the ultimate in slow burn Reverse Harems! Though I love heat in my romance books, the thing I love most about RH books is the way relationships are complicated and involve more than a two way bond, the love and affection is tightly woven between all members of the group. All members to the group interact in different ways, especially as new members of the group are added. As such I can enjoy a slow burn RH romance tremendously, when it’s done right and this series is very definitely done right. There are so many different emotions swirling around this book, sometimes it’s hard to keep track and I imagine the characters feel the same, especially as new characters are added into the mix, not just as potential mates, but as allies, friends and clan. This is not just a book about love and relationships, there is also a massive part of it wrapped up in politics and that is unveiled the longer Layla lives at the hotel. This is such a mesmerising series, I simply can’t stop reading it!

I love the world, I love the hotel, and I love Dusk, but oh-my-god I really do not like Adrian and Layla in this book. You would think by now, Adrian would learn that his hot-cold behavior is obviously not working with Layla, and his insane jealousy isn't getting him any brownie points, but nope, he's still a jealous asshat throughout this book. Additionally, Layla doesn't seem to take any accountability for her naiveness about the Twilight Realm and her uncontrollable dragon powers and keeps whining woe-be-me. All the other characters are helping her contain the backlash of lusty dragon magic to minimize its effects on the general public, but she's just letting it loose and not even making an effort to ask for lessons to control its flaring. Each time, she's just screaming about how her dragon is doing this or that against her wishes. P.S. I really don't like the overuse of the verb "sassed" from all the characters in this series.

SETTING: Red Letter Hotel. Paris (in the Twilight Realm adjacent to the human realm at the Palace of Versailles). Layla Price has acclimated to the rarified atmosphere at the Red Letter Hotel, working at the Concierge Desk, under the tutelage of the Head Concierge, Dusk Arlohaim for the past 2 months. It was thought this position would be best for her as she began experiencing the awakening of her new-found powers, with Dusk present to calm any uncontrolled power displays she might experience. Enter a new dragon, Adam Rhakvir, Clan Second of the Moroccan Desert Dragons, who had been raised alongside Adrian (Layla’s Dragon Bind) and Dusk when his parents were killed before his very eyes, which is perhaps the cause of the darkness occasionally seen in the depths of Adam’s eyes. With these 3 protectors, Layla begins to learn of a dark force that has struck at some of the more powerful dragons, and is thought to be on the prowl now, perhaps even in the vicinity of the Red Letter Hotel itself. Self-defense, therefore, becomes of prime importance, and lessons begin in a very secure and protected place: the Vault—a place where admittance is granted only by permission of the Head Guard, and where release can be prevented if a dragon becomes a danger to others. CRITIQUE: As layer upon layer of intrigue is pulled back for the reader, anticipation grows for an explosive encounter, the full results of which could not have been predicted! Choices face Layla: change allegiances, thus renouncing her Binding; continue at the Hotel, albeit in a different role; or leave the Hotel, her friends and protectors and return to the human world alone, and at risk of a dark future. How these choices present themselves, and Layla’s decisions, make for fascinating reading of this second book, in what is an exciting series. Sexual tension runs high, but the description is vague so that the reader fills in the rest with his/her own imagination, which I appreciate. Great world building, continuing growth of the characters as circumstances develop, and a wonderfully unique storyline grows, making this a 5 star series.

A paranormal MUST-BUY, sure to be a CLASIC series! “CRYSTAL DRAGON’S KISS,” the second book in Ava Ward’s ROYAL DRAGON SHIFTERS OF MOROCCO is the continuation of Layla’s story. In this second novel, author Ward continues to entertain her readers with eloquent descriptions and easy to read prose that together weave a setting of opulent delight and plotlines full of the mystery and intrigue which seem to surround our heroine, Layla. As events seem to spiral more and more out of her control and experiential knowledge, Layla recognizes that her human upbringing has left her ill-prepared for her present and future. As a result, Layla leans on others staff members when she needs help to meet both the expectations and the challenges of her new and powerful role in Dragon Society, her confusion over Adrian’s absence, and all that encompasses being a dragon shifter. Layla relies heavily on her boss, Dusk Arlohaim, Head Concierge at the Red Letter Hotel Paris. I found myself even more invested in this complex and compelling series primarily through its strong heroine, a cast of other fascinating and loveable characters and page-turning action. It is no surprise that “CRYSTAL DRAGON’S KISS,” has earned a 5+STAR recommendation from this reader, and a STRONG encouragement to BUY THIS BOOK! I voluntarily read a copy of “CRYSTAL DRAGON’S KISS,” and this is my voluntary, HONEST review! Even if you have not yet read the first book of the series, “CRYSTAL DRAGON’S KISS,” should be your next romance book purchase! Happy pages! 😉

Oh where to start......Well I loved this whole series, I could not put it down. The whole concept of the Red Letter Hotels is fantastic and unique. I think the world development of the series as a whole was particularly amazing. In the series it takes you to many places and each one is well developed that you can see it in your minds eye. I did want to smack Adrian when I found out he tricked her and originally had not the greatest intentions. I absolutely loved that the author did not just have Layla forgive him just because of this mystical bond that he had to work for her and actually open up to win her love. Yes the bond was there pushing and pulling them together but it was not the sole thing to their relationship. I did enjoy that each book focused on 1 of Layla's men more so than the others so there was great details and background into each. And it was a great twist that her bff that she almost killed turned out to be a dragon...But that he did not end up as one of her final mates. I thought that was awesome. It was a twist I did not see coming. All in all amazing series and would recommend over and over.

She's had her coming out and avoided death by euthanasia when Dusk was able to control her first shift which we don't see here. Adrian is still mostly a no show for much of this book but he's around more than the first. Though she's now bound to two men, Layla has yet to have an intimate scene with either of them that progresses beyond heavy petting, vibrations, and ghostly feels without any touching. The thing I liked least about this book is how it ends. From Concierge to Courtesan Layla goes to train with Reginald when she hasn't even been truly intimate with either of her bind mates just doesn't seem right. The alternative is that she leaves on her own which makes no sense. Why that would be the only other option when they know the Hunter is coming after her again in a bid to possibly turn her to evil deeds just doesn't compute. Seems like they'd want to have her close but guess not. This one is a page turner and still interesting so I'll see what the next one has in store.

I received this as an advance reader. You need to dive into this series! As with the first book in the series, this one is a slow burn but worth sticking with as the pace picks up. I found myself just wanting it all to happen for her, but I guess I'll have to wait for another book as I think Ms Ward intends to keep us titillated for a good while longer before we find out how Layla resolves her love life. I was also impatient for the underlying themes of intrigue and evil drama to develop faster, but this book was more about the development of key relationships, introducing new characters, developing some key existing ones, and development of the heroine's self knowledge and powers. Worth sticking with this as it is well written and an intriguing story with lots of steamy, passionate elements. But I'm keen for a little more story and a little less steamy stuff in the next installment. I think I read somewhere that Ms Ward intends a large number of books in this series. If that is so, and the story development is a slow burn, then I hope I will have the patience to wait. I'm invested now and will certainly stick with it for another book. I trust this writer to deliver on the plot equally as well as she delivers on the steamy parts.

We see a little more action in book two as we learn about an sinister ancient evil being has been hunting Layla since her birth and is capable of taking on any form, making it entirely impossible to track, which is terrifying. As with the Dragon Bind this book starts slowly and then burst like the scent of orange bourbon on the senses. I've come to a part of a series that I hate...waiting for the next book to be released (sigh). I like the development with Dusk and I like that you start to understand Adrian better. I also liked how her powers are developing, but at the end of the book I didn't like the direction it's about to take. I actually feel sorry for all three. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. I particularly enjoy the opulence of the Red Letter Hotel and the exquisite word-craft Ave uses to create her characters and the clothes that they wear! It is not often that I stop to savour the description of a red dress but in this instance I did, and the use of crystals (which I am always drawn to in life and in reading) makes the creation even more special. Ok. I liked this one, too. BUT. Adrian was NOT COOL and that threw off the whole book for me. I actually really like Layla (except for calling people bucko. Stop that.) but I still feel like she's not really developing the way I wish she would. Like I said for the first book, I like the books, they just feel a bit stilted and it's hard for me to stay in the (phenomenally good) storyline. OH MY GOODNESS! we are two books in with this series and I am hooked! Did not, was not expecting the twists and turns in book two. Layla is continuing to grow and learn about herself making friends and trusted connections that will definitely be needed. Her and her lovers (yes I meant to put the "s" on lovers. READ THE SERIES!) are bonding lovely. Oh and we get introduced to a villian who you will create an instant love hate relationship with. Can't wait for the next installment. ~Queen Nuba~ OH MY GOODNESS! we are two books in with this series and I am hooked! Did not, was not expecting the twists and turns in book two. Just finished this book and after reading the first novel it completely adds to the storyline in a way I didn’t realize I needed until I read it. It adds so much more depth to both Dusk and Layla’s characters, as well as to Adrian’s, I’m honestly so excited to continue this series. If you start reading these books the only thing you won’t like is waiting for the next book because you’ll be hooked from the first page

This story just keeps getting better! The first book made it seem like more of a slow burn reverse harem series. This book brings with it the action that was alluded to in the first book. There is still quite a bit of detail, but since the events in this book (mostly) occur in the same locations, there isn't quite as much time spent describing the hotel, etc. Overall I'm enjoying this series by Ava Ward. Crystal Dragon’s Kiss really gets the story rolling! Layla continues to battle with her dragon and is still trying to adapt to her new life, the villain shows himself, there’s kidnapping, new relationships, and we learn even more about the Twilight Realm. Truly a little bit of everything! Also, I would just like to say, I AM IN LOVE WITH DUSK! ❤️ I love this series and can’t wait to read the next installment!

Girl meets boy; Instant attractions; Boy is dragon; So is girl but doesn’t know it yet; Boy whisks girl off to another realm with unreal job/salary/events; Girl is the glue that holds them all together so the power boys all become her mates. This whole series is strange, but I picked up something mindless and fluffy for the time being and I got exactly that - mindless and fluffy. Now I’m just plowing through to finish what I started. I can skip whole pages/chunks and still know what has happened Girl meets boy; Instant attractions; Boy is dragon; So is girl but doesn’t know it yet; Boy whisks girl off to another realm with unreal job/salary/events; Girl is the glue that holds them all together so the power boys all become her mates. I hate when authors try to make things cool by using slang language - bucko (who uses this term), asshat (over usage), randomly inserted quotes from South Park...

There was too much information dump in this book, found myself skimming over most of it. I do love that Dusk is now bound to Layla along with Adrian (reverse harem). However, she's not had sex with either. Each time the three of them are close to it there's an excuse. If it was slow burn I'd dig it, but it's not, it just doesn't make sense. I love the world that's been created, the character development is on spot, which is why I've moving on with the series. Layla is back and still trying to settle into the Twilight Realm and her new power. Only to find that things are even more complicated than anyone originally thought. The story is very well written and keeps you wondering what will happen next until the very end. This is one of those series that just gets better with every book and I can't wait to see where the next one takes us. The story keeps you ensnared , entangled and enthused as you are swept into this world. To the reader of this review , if you , like me haven't read this type of book , then I would say read this book and its predecessor ...I think you'll find you will enjoy it. Well done Ava ! On the Fence I am still on the fence with story and how I truly feel about it! It’s definitely not what I expected and it’s heading in a direction that I was also not expecting and I’m not sure if I like where it’s going...perhaps not my cup of tea! And despite the crazy sex charge throughout the hotel I’m still missing the sex and passion!
