Family. Creativity. Happiness. And maybe even doing something more game-changing than you've ever thought possible." - Dave Asprey Why do some people thrive while others just get by? What's their secret to peak performance and maximum happiness? Some call it the zest, the gusto, or the extra edge in life. The ancient Indian spiritual tradition Vedanta calls it prana, or life force. We can call it vital force. By any name, it's the fundamental fuel that activates and optimizes all physical, emotional, and cognitive functions, including consciousness, perception, thinking, judgment, and memory. In modern life, we have forgotten the golden key-the higher our energy, the better our performance in everything we do. Energy naturally impacts mind-set and moves us toward greater happiness, success, and self-awareness. This book gives you back your power with simple tools to take hold of the limitless energy of life itself-more swiftly and easily than you ever thought possible. Rajshree Patel is a former federal prosecutor who discovered Vedanta by accident and went on to become an internationally renowned teacher of its deep wisdom and dynamic practice. In these pages, she reveals:   *  What vital force is, how it influences every single aspect of your life, how to enhance it-and how your mind, the biggest energy hog, can drain it;   *  Tools to dial down the chatter of your racing mind and resolve your personal energy crisis;   *  Why traditional mindfulness meditation may not be your best path to inner peace;   *  Easy biohacking techniques, from breath work to meditation to movement, that reduce stress and maximize joy; and   *  Ancient secrets to fuel your purpose and performance in every aspect of your life. The Power of Vital Force is a practical pathway to the unlimited source of energy and intelligence that exists beyond the thinking and reasoning mind.

I was disappointed in this book. while it provides a good introduction to basic principles it reads like a text. Borrowing heavily from Buddhist and Vedic practices, it provides a historical, semi-scientific view. I was hoping for practical exercises that I could implement easily. But most of the exercises are more pop psychology than spiritually based. There is a lot of journaling, logic and self-examination along with plugs for her course. I just finished reading the book and it really made me look at things very differently. I have a full time job, I travel a lot and have been feeling tried lately. I hit the snooze button multiple times in the morning and literally drag myself out of bed. All the while telling myself that I have a busy life and that's why I am tired. As I was reading the book I realized, it wasn't so much my body that was tired (it's not as if I run marathons all day) but my mind. As I was reading the book I realized, it wasn't so much my body that was tired (it's not as if I run marathons all day) but my mind. Something in the book really struck me and made me look at my life through a new lens. 'The mind-wandering is where the real struggle comes in. Think of it this way: It’s as if you were walking around all day, every day, with a Woody Allen character in your head—a constant negative commentary on everything you think, say, and do. I’m sorry to say that, if you could hear your own internal dialogue, you’d find that, at some level, you really are walking around with a Woody Allen in there. We all are." It's the constant chatter in my mind (that sometimes even goes on when I am sleeping) that has me feeling so exhausted, like I am running on empty. I tried a couple of simple techniques in the book and already feel a difference. Can't wait to try the rest. I think this is a book that will stay on my coffee table as a reference guide for a long time to come.

The book is a marvel. It has simple tips and tools that help to relieve stress, sleep better, reduce anxiety and have more energy throughout the day. What amazed me was how effective these tips are. It has only been a few days since I have been using some of the tips mentioned in the book and I can already see the difference in my quality of sleep and my energy levels. I am looking to explore more of the techniques mentioned in the book in the coming days. I have tried mindfulness and have found The book is a marvel. I am looking to explore more of the techniques mentioned in the book in the coming days. I have tried mindfulness and have found it to be very hard and gave it up. I really liked how the author explained why mindfulness is a harder way and that there is an easier and better way to meditate. I am going to look up what she recommended. The book has made me more aware of myself and what is happening inside of me. Her insight on resistance is really precious. In the past few days I have been noticing that when my mind is in resistance to something it only makes it harder. But when I drop the resistance, I am able to move through it (whether it is some task or interaction with someone) much more easily. The book is a mix of techniques and insights which can make a huge impact in improving the day to day life. The book is like a reference manual, which I expect to go back to again and again.

When I first picked up The Power of Vital Force, I was a skeptic. What are these “ancient secrets” and how could they possibly be useful in my life? I’ve changed my tune. I’d argue that these days, we need to reconnect to our inner power more than ever. An engaging read that will challenge your conventional beliefs.

If you're not already practicing mindfulness in your daily life, this is like a 101 mindfulness guide that will get you going. The book talks about how it's beneficial to your mind and it's an entry point into meditation if that's something you have been wanting to practice. I find it hard to rest my mind and this book helped me perfect my focus and nonjudgmental awareness of my thoughts. Good stuff! It was okay. Lots of repetitive ideas throughout the book and some golden nuggets here and there. Towards the end there is more substance compared to the rest of the book. Focus is on the importance of energy not so much on techniques to enhance it. You will need the online course for that. There are a few mentions though, the basics. Overall an okay book. Great for someone who is a beginner in the area and wants to understand the basics.
