My favorite of the stories so far. Emma's experience with her ex-husband and her history with an unscrupulous journalist, colors her view of Ford Hamilton, the new owner of her small hometown newspaper. When she agrees to represent a friend in her court case for domestic assault, she has to build trust in herself and Ford to believe the good in people. She has to learn to trust her judgement before she can move forward in a relationship and in love. Now to the last Calamity Jane story: Lauren's! My favorite of the stories so far. Emma Rogers is a very successful Denver attorney. One might say an obsessed with success lawyer. She comes back home for her high school reunion and happy to reunited with her friends "The Calamity Janes". While there she meets Ford Hamilton the editor and owner of the local paper. Even though they got off to a rocky start, can they get over her hang ups and have a meaningful relationship. An abusive relationship between a school friend and her husband will bring everything into focus. A very go Emma Rogers is a very successful Denver attorney. Really enjoyed reading this book. I was in a reading rut. Could not find a book that caught my interest. This book healed that. Read this one first to find out that it is in a series. So started reading the series.

One is the widow of a hardworking rancher. Two are divorced. Two are single mothers. One is an Academy Award-winning actress. One owns a four star restaurant in New York. All long for home and family, although at least two of them don't know it at first. Each book is named for one of the women: Cassie, Emma, Karen, Gina and Lauren. Cassie and her nine-year-old son have avoided Winding River because his father lives there. Lauren knows she is dissatisfied with her career, but doesn't understand exactly what is making her restless. Gina is in financial trouble because her partner embezzled most of her restaurant's funds. Emma, the high powers lawyer, needs more time for her five-year-old daughter and more distance from her ex. Involvement in a murder trial, plus her daughter's attachment to her parent's ranch will help her decide to come home for good. Karen is devastated by her husband's sudden death and by the back breaking work on her financially failing ranch. Who is sabotaging her herd and range land? If you like contemporary romance, these are all good stories, although I found the explanation for Gina's partner's behavior a little farfetched.

Book four of the Calamity Janes. Each novel can be read alone but is much better to read in order. Emma returns home for the class reunion but ends up representing a friend for murder. The new publisher/newspaper owner makes a blatant statement about cold blooded murder without knowing the facts. Un-trusting of all journalists, she denies access to her client for an interview. The man is hot on her trail, romance in mind, tormenting her at every turn. Everyone else likes him except Emma and she Book four of the Calamity Janes. As he tries to break down her barriers, she builds them higher. The entire community conspire to make them a love connection project. This novel has lots of frustration, animosity, love of friends and entertaining banter. Five star romance.

This is the Calamity Janes story about the high powered lawyer who has built herself a successful law practice in Denver and a not very successful life with her 6-year-old daughter. She goes home to Wyoming with her daughter for her high school reunion to see her family and all her old buddies again, and it is sure hard to go back to Denver again.

Easy Reading I enjoy a book that makes me feel like I am in it along with all the other characters. Wood's books allow that feeling. Easy Reading I enjoy a book that makes me feel like I am in it along with all the other characters. Wood's books allow that feeling.

The Eternal Friends Any book by Sherryl Woods is a great read to me. How friends can be loyal and helpful to their fellow friend is amazing, you can't find that nowadays. This book was okay. The characters did not really grab me, and the plot was pretty predictable. The end was not very satisfying because the author rushed things.
