I liked it a lot.... this was more practical than many other girl power books and also way less cutesy and ridiculous ‘touchy feely’ crap ( I see you A Tribe Called Bliss or Sparkle...or the Hollis crap)...she is very authentic and tries to break it down and make it attainable for everyone in terms of improving your life. Love that she came to be successful thru fitness but she is not overly annoying about it, instead focuses on the why fitness was good for her not just how being thin and fit wa I liked it a lot.... this was more practical than many other girl power books and also way less cutesy and ridiculous ‘touchy feely’ crap ( I see you A Tribe Called Bliss or Sparkle...or the Hollis crap)...she is very authentic and tries to break it down and make it attainable for everyone in terms of improving your life. Also, admiration to Beyoncé but not crazy status about it gave it brownie points in my end....

I was initially irritated at the very first chapter because it seemed like another one of those books that focused on feminism but played on the author's victim story. I was so wrong. This book is so genuine because Andrea not only shared her life story but shared the concrete steps she did to overcome the hardships that came to her. I am so glad that even though this book is probably marked under women empowerment, the entirety of the book is for everyone who wants to reach their next level. Some key takeaways I got are: 1) Don't play victim. Own the situation and don't blame others for their "evilness" (maybe, they just have circumstances that make them that way). correct and improve upon yourself. 2) Forgive others. It doesn't mean that your accepting what they did and telling them it is okay to do it again. Forgiveness is for yourself so that you can move on and not consume time and energy thinking about the past. 3) Say no to most things to get back your time. Better yet, offer an alternative that you can actually give them using "no, how about?"

Really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I had never heard of the author before but the cover seemed interesting. I'm glad I did ! This book is great for staying motivated in difficult times. I am really impressed by the strength of the author and how positive she is today. Plus, she did a great job narrating the audiobook version. The book is a mix of personnal stories and advice/exercices you can do yourself (there is an optional downloadable pdf with these). Really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Andrea is the ultimate motivator- Own It All is an exercise in reclaiming your life in small, but profound day-to-day steps. Andrea's insertion of other voices in the space are all fantastic anecdotes. Ideal for reading during quarantine and whenever/wherever you're looking to make a change in your life. I was unsure of this book at first - have been going through quite a few self-improvement/ self-help books as of late - but this pleasantly surprised me, and actually motivated me to define my goals, start running in the morning, and start writing. Loved her story, and found a lot of helpful motivational takeaways.

Choose your own ending Packed with practical advice, this book will help you to get over your own self-imposed limits (or the ones that life has tried to give you). I read every word of the sections that really spoke to me and skimmed the ones that I already 'get'. It's pushing me ahead...just what I needed.
