I found this to be a cute quick read. We get to meet two people who went to high school together but haven't seen each other in years. Frances and Fen end up becoming neighbors and the past comes back to them. We learn that sometimes what we think happened isn't really the case. Good story on learning how to communicate with your partner before jumping to conclusions, and if you love someone don't take so long to let them know. I absolutely loved the elderly couple running the coffee shop! This I found this to be a cute quick read. It was a lovely and sweet story! I really liked the setting and the characters. For me it could have been a longer book.

I think The Marriage Sham was one of my favorites in this series of novellas. Another kind of second chance romance, but a little different. Frances is a litle overwhelmed when she realizes that her Grandfather is sicker than she realizes. Going home she never expects to run into Fen or feel the same attraction from long ago. I thought it was amazing what he did for her Grandfather. This one really left a smile on my face!

Heartwarming. Beautiful. Sweet. And funny too... Marika perfectly captures what it means to truly love. Not an easy feat to pull off in a novella. But she does. I smiled. I teared up. I related. And in closing, here’s one of my favorite lines: “I wonder what she’ll look like with grey strands threading through her auburn tresses.”

My first book from this author, and I received this as an ARC. This is my fair and honest review of the book. I loved this short novella, one of eight in a book. If the others are as good as this one will be a really good book. The story was very well written, sad at times yet a very sweet story. I would certainly recommend it to others.

Fen has always had a thing for Francis, but he hasn't seen her since she left, but now that she needs help, he's not letting her get away again, so he proposes that they get married to make her Granddaddy happy. She reluctantly agrees, but she refuses to let her heart get involved, although he's determined to show her that they belong together. OMG this short(ish) story was totally sweet, and I couldn't get enough of it. Not only were Francis & Fen great heroine & hero, but the secondaries stole my heart as well. And just when I though everything was going great, BAM! A twist or blast from the past to throw in some drama. So in order to see how it all panned out, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND you read The Marriage Sham for yourselves!

I had high hopes for this series, especially after absolute devouring Kiersten Modglin's Novella. But every one I've read after has been a constant let down. When this one started I really thought that I was going to find another one that I enjoyed, but I quickly realized that to be false. The fact that Fen and Francis agreed to MARRY one another after literally one afternoon all to make her grandfather happy is ridiculous. The fact that Fen and Francis agreed to MARRY one another after literally one afternoon all to make her grandfather happy is ridiculous. First of all, lying to this poor man is a horrible thing - he's old, not stupid. Second of all, even though Fen and Francis knew each other in high school, that was nearly a decade ago. I can't think of one person in high school that I would bump into after 10 years and agree to a fake marriage to appease my grandpa. Not to mention, it's not a fake marriage - they are going to have to get a divorce once the grandpa dies. I found this to be so unrealistic, so thoughtless, and just dumb. **Yikes, I always hate giving out bad reviews because I know authors put a lot of time and energy into creating content for their fans. Unfortunately, A Lover's Landing Novella has been let down after let down (except for Kiersten Modglin's).

Will this marriage just be the fake sham that they were doing it only for granddaddy's happiness or will they actually fall in love for real. There are a few twists thrown in, will it interfere with the marriage? Read this book to find out. I totally loved reading this and totally loved the ending. Thank you Marika, a 5 star plus read. I loved this book. From page one to the finale I just thought this was such a good, sweet story. The author took a chance an wrote a story without explicit sex scenes and it paid off. When I read this story I felt as many feels and emotions as I would’ve if there were those scenes. It brought intense feelings and goosebumps at times imaging the feelings that came to life between Frances and Fen. The author touched on issues that affect so many today. The one area I would’ve liked to read a little more on is background information on why Frances was raised by only her grandfather. This story will tug at your heartstrings, bring all the feels and make you also want to travel to Savannah, Georgia. You’ll smile, laugh, swoon, may cry a little and get all the romance you need. I read this story in one sitting. When I was finished I wanted more. I couldn’t get enough. Do yourself a favor and read this story. I really believe you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.

My only issue I will say with this one is during the entire book it went back and forth between spelling Frances name Francis/Frances. It was a little distracting but didn’t take away from my reading. I love this series and can’t wait to dive into the next one!!!

Frances had it all; a career as an event planner in Atlanta, her own apartment, the chance to increase her business contacts if she can make her latest client happy. Yes, life was great, until the phone call that turned her world upside down… Fen was content with his life but felt something was missing; he had never really forgotten the girl that got away in high school. He had gone over to see her after graduation, but she had already escaped small town life for the big city. I felt as if I was walking the pages with Frances and Fen, wincing at the missteps and cheering when one took a chance on the other. It made me laugh, growl and cheer. Very well written, with enough drama to keep my attention to the very end. Another winner from Marika Ray!

I’ve read all of Marika’s Beach Squad books and have enjoyed them all, but I really loved this sweet, simple story of second chances and mistaken impressions, mixed with a healthy dose of marriage of convenience. The book was good but I just couldn't like Frances. She left town because her crush kissed her best friend by surprise and when he didn't know how she felt? How is that logical? Okay so far I am head over heels for this Lover's Landing series of standalone reads. One of the sweetest novellas I have ever read! Perfect length to give you enough back story to draw the connections that you need and long enough to give you that HEA you want. Second chance in a way, old friends turned marriage sham. I loved every aspect of this book from the sham, to grandpa, to nerdy archeologist, and the twists and turns. This was the first book I’ve read by this author and I look forward to more. It’s part of a series from several authors that takes place in a small town...Frances and Fen were friends in high school, each harboring a secret crush but then life got in the way. Now Frances is back to care for her granddad and Fen is just next door, with a crazy plan of his own! The Marriage Sham was a funny and touching romance with characters I totally enjoyed. Highly recommend!

The Marriage Sham is the story of Francis and Fen. Such a beautiful, moving and sweet love story. This has a bit of the fake to real romance with the 2nd chance at love which made this novella a great read. What do u do when you want to give your granddaddy his dying wish? But that dying wish involves the man you ran from back in high school who you might just still have feelings for. You fake a marriage and see what happens from there. I enjoyed this one.Francis and Fen are some amazing characters. I loved the storyline. First book I have read from Marika and it has me wanting to read more. Great addition to the Lover's Landing series. What do u do when you want to give your granddaddy his dying wish?
