First in a new series. This is a wonderful tale of a girl, a sick girl, a changling, a replacement... a fae creation made to fool humans in to not realising their child had been stolen... but Tatiana did not die as planned... nearly 20 years has passed when she is finally told that she is dying.... and that she isn't actually human! I love a reverse harem... I love a fae reverse harem even more so 🤣🤣 With names I've got not chance of spelling ( sorry Ripley 🤣) I've already singled out my favourites.. ( Shubin 🙌🏻🙌🏻) each one is more intriguing and enigmatic than the last and I cannot wait to see how their stories are revealed as well as their relationships develop with each other as well as Tati. If you like variety amongst your book boyfriends... then this dear readers is the book to get! This is. Slow burn reverse harem but not the dreaded death by slower than snails slow burn... it has a nice pace that suits the pace of the story. This is a series that I will be waiting somewhat impatiently for...bewarned there is a somewhat cliffhanger of an ending but given the excitement it was managed brilliantly. Bring on book 2 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Great story. Really cool story that with a different take on fae and changelings. The book moved quickly and really liked the characters. Slow burn but romance elements there. Will be interesting to see how Tati takes on the her new normal and I have a feeling there she and the guys are destined to save Koralevstrvo.

Tatiana is a replacement, an exchanged child, a changeling made of sticks and stones and leaves. When the Rusalka saw the real Tatiana in her crib, she couldn't resist. She wanted her as her own daughter and created the replacement to leave in the baby's place. The replacement should only have lived a few days and although she's never been healthy she's survived for twenty years. But now her time is running out. The replacement should only have lived a few days and although she's never been healthy she's survived for twenty years. But now her time is running out. When the creature who created her returns she learns her truth. She is a feia. The visit also triggers a series of visits and changes everything for Tatiana. The human world is killing her, she doesn't belong there, so she decides to return to Korolevstvo, home of the feia. She will find the real Tatiana and return her to her rightful home and family. She loves her family enough to do this last act for them. She won't be alone on her journey. Her two visitors, the Roamer Grisha, and the bird Fedir will go with her. Along the way, they pick up a miner Shubin and a river dweller Taras and maybe even a prince. This is unheard of. Feia are known for trickery, selfishness, danger. But there's something about Tatiana that they are unable to resist. She draws them in, makes them happier than they have ever been, and they just know it's right to stay with each other and with her. In a land that is truly alive and poisoned these six have found new hope. No one is better at creating new worlds than Ripley Proserpina. This one is a mirror world; the normal one we live in and the world of the feia. Once they were both beautiful, untarnished but now both are polluted, dying. The difference is that Korolevstvo is actually alive and the poisoning has made it deadly on multiple levels. If the metal doesn't kill the feia, the land itself might in its anger. Its inhabitants are equally dangerous. Tatiana and her guys are in the middle of a dangerous war. One that they were unaware of and didn't know the powerful players. Replacement Tatiana is precious. Her body may have been weak but her heart is fierce. She loves completely. She is kind, caring, protective, and funny. Her collection of feia is pretty wonderful too. Each has been hurt and controlled in the past. More important each of the guys has been alone. Tati is the first family they have known in a very long time or maybe the first they've ever known. What they have found together is worth protcting, worth fighting for. She's bringing change to the land, possibly returning it to how it once was, how it should be. Already she's made a difference in their lives and she's paid a dear price. But this little replacement is strong and she has her guys around her. This is only the beginning. I can't wait to see what's next.

This one is so hard for me. I love Ripley’s books. But, this one... I had a really hard time getting into it. I felt like it was choppy and I really had difficulty finding the flow for me. Tatiana blames herself for her parents divorce and how most of the focus was on her, leaving little behind for her older brother. Little does she know, but her health has continually declined because she has slowly been poisoned by living on Earth. Tatiana was actually not supposed to survive more than a few days after she was “made” from sticks, stones, and leaves to “replace” a beautiful human child. But for some reason she survived for much longer. Unfortunately, she has come to the point where her body is giving out on her and she now has very little time left. When an incident occurs that causes her “real” mother to appear in front of her, Tatiana is stunned to find out that she is actually a replacement for the “real” Tatiana. She is given the choice to go to her “real” home. Along the way she meets several new and interesting men that help her in her quest to find her “sister”. This is a slowburn RH story. Tatiana meets 5 different men who are, for the most part, instantly drawn to her and want to help her on her quest. The story reads like a fairytale to me. While I did enjoy this book, it did take me a little while to really get into it and invested in the characters. Once I got about a fourth of the way through everything just seemed to click for me. There is a lot going on throughout the book. I liked how each of the 5 men are completely different from each other and have different gifts. The only part I had a little trouble with was when Tatiana is with her sister. Both are called Tatiana and it got a little confusing at some points. I am definitely looking forward to the next book.

Ripley Proserpina has been one of my favorite authors for a long time. I find it easy to connect to her main characters, and her story premises are varied and wholly original. This new book is no different. Forge and Fire is the first book in a series (I hope. Because I want so many more books). In this book, we follow our main character of Tatiana who is a replacement. In words that I have heard used in fairytale type books before, she is a changeling. She's made of sticks and stones and not as Ripley Proserpina has been one of my favorite authors for a long time. She's made of sticks and stones and not as human as she thought she was. And she's dying. Already, I'm loving the stakes that this character and world have. Eventually, Tatiana leaves the only world she has ever known and travels to Korolevstvo, the world that she actually belongs in. One thing that I really loved was the feeling that the characters she meets are based on real fairytales. Now, I haven't really found proof of this, but these other characters who live in Korolevstvo are completely fleshed out in their own lore. Everything about them felt as if it could have been a legend passed down through the generations. However, I think most of it came from our author's mind. I did see some typically accepted elements that always seem to show up in worlds with fae, or in stories that have characters that come from a sort of fairytale world. For example, iron is still poisonous. But elements like these give a feeling of the story being connected to something greater like everyone could potentially know about a version of these characters. I really liked this book, the characters, and the overall conflict that was introduced. The only reason it is not a full five stars for me is that I felt like this book was more an introduction and did not really give any answers to the plot arc that was started in this book. It does end on a cliffhanger, which I don't mind, but I felt that I was given more questions in the last quarter of the book than were answered in the rest of it. Don't doubt that I'm already hooked, and will be picking up the next book ASAP.

On her journey she meets five men of different species who help her on her quest. The different elements are represented in the men making Tatiana and the reader feel the entirety of the faltering world. It's impossible to pick a favorite and as with most RH it's clear that each guy will bring his own special talents to the group and to their girl. Proserpina delivers a wonderfully dark and dangerous world that mirrors our own world that are both being choked by pollution, ours slowly and the other world is a living breathing danger zone. I could vividly smell the stench and ash, feel the heat and see the tragic landscape that I was reading. I could also enjoy the closeness and caring between Tatiana and her newly formed family. Her open generous heart is in stark contrast to the other world and most of its inhabitants. It has an apocalyptic feel, but the guys frequently say that time is different there and they can't remember when the world changed to the dark dangerous place it is currently. The journey to find the true daughter is filled with dangerous situations and more dangerous beings. I stayed engrossed and entertained through each encounter. I eagerly anticipate the next book in the is series.

Forge and Fire is a very creative reverse harem story with the tone of a folk tale, and I flew through it, fully engaged the whole time. Their connection happens pretty quickly - all the guys are instantly protective of/enamored of Tatiana once they come across her- and though this usually is not my preference, it didn't bother me like it has in other RH's. The physical aspect is a slow burn too, for those that matters to. I really enjoyed the world of Korolevstvo, and the challenges the characters face there - fantasy adventures galore. Tatiana makes a mistake that the reader can see coming, but the consequences are no less upsetting for that, and it brings the book to a close on a complete arc. It is not a cliffhanger to my mind, but you are left wanting to know what happens next for them.

Its a bit weird seeing all the evil/bad guys from your childhood being portrayed as the good guys and having the traditional hero the evil bastard we all want to "die already". As far as the RH goes, I guess I'm too much of a "independent woman who shall not bow to any man" to appreciate the instantaneous connections between everyone. Fair play they did not all drop their pants and had an orgy after just meeting each other, but its just makes me feel a little sad. I would think I would appreciate the "putting effort to making it work" approach. I guess I would be able to relate to it a bit more. But hey that's just me, I'm sure there are plenty of you girls out there who finds their soulmate by just touching someone's hand.... But still I cannot fault the well written chemistry between the stick girl and the guys. It was not too overpowering and was improving the plot of the story rather than distract from it. Like i said, i really enjoyed the book. And in all honesty its one of the better RH out there because its not solely focuses of getting the orgy going. I'm very hopeful that the second book will not disappoint!

Easy, engaging read Forge and Fire tells the unique story of Tatiana, a replacement changling within RP’s newest world. The story line moves quickly, keeping readers—more or less—strung along in anticipation of what comes next. The story development increases exceedingly as the book progresses, however, I must admit that this book is somewhat dimensionless. While engaging enough for a mindless read, increased character development and world building might aid this book in evolution. An absolutely amazing start! I loved the characters, the world building, the relationships and the story. Tatiana is such a lovable character, I absolutely adored her! And the guys, each of them so unique and huggable. The journey of Tatiana as she goes through this unknown world was a treat to read. There was a really painful moment where my heart heart so much for her, but at the same time, the guys are what hold her together. I cannot wait until the next book comes out. Loved it!!!!

I am intrigued by Shubin, Tara’s, and Kopala, and am really liking Fenrik and Grisha. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series and find out how they are going to get their world back on track :)

WOW! I was hooked on Tatiana's adventures from the first page. This story was so original and captivating! It's ties to folklore was really interesting and well done and I loved reading about it. It was so uniquely intertwined in this world Ripley Proserpina has created. The characters are fantastic. I really enjoyed getting to know Tatiana, Grisha, Fedir, Shubin, Kopala, and Taras. Such a good start to this new series! I can't wait to read more and see where Tatiana's journey takes her and the WOW! I was hooked on Tatiana's adventures from the first page. I really enjoyed this book. It kept me guessing with unexpected twists right from the beginning. I liked Tatiana's strength of character and her heart. She's strong, but sweet with a touch of sass. The guys were an interesting mix that grew on me as I read. (The Miner was my favourite) What I liked the most about this book was that it was set in a world I'd never heard of before. I've read a lot of faery/folklore books and this one wasn't similar to anything I've seen before. I'm excited to read the I really enjoyed this book. I loved this book! It was so different, and the world was so cool! Tatiana was a strong, sweet, funny girl. And her guys: Shubin, Kopala, Taras, Grisha, and Fedir were her perfect counterparts! The ending was so sad for Tati, but I know she will come out stronger than ever with her guys helping her and holding her up!!! I can’t wait for the next book: Iron and Ashes!!! This is one of my favorite books from author, Ripley Proserpina!

This book was interesting, gripping, and at times, heartbreaking. Tatiana is a sickly girl about to die, or so she thinks. When she learns that she is a changeling, she goes on the quest to find the girl whose place she took. She meets men along the way that will become important to her, even if their motives aren't always what they seem. The ending is sad, but there is hope for the future. I can't wait until the next one. This book was interesting, gripping, and at times, heartbreaking. Tatiana is a sickly girl about to die, or so she thinks. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. This new series as to Ripley’s style gets you taken into a world with encouragement for the MC to succeed. I loved the MC, Tatiana. Hey guys too. How each are different but bring something unique and beautiful or her. A storyline with a mixture of what you read about fairies and what their world represents with a twist of what you would think a fairytale would be with the MC trying to find her HEA. Loved it. enjoyed reading it.

What an Amazing story. This was a very unique story and concept! I absolutely loved the storyline and the main characters. They all brought their own unique gifts to the story. Right from the very beginning I was intrigued and the story grabbed ahold of me and wouldn’t let go. I could not put this book down. The author knew how to weave her words into really great story telling. I can’t wait to read book 2 to see how each character develops and to learn what happens next!

Great start to a new series! I liked this book a lot! This is a unique take on supernatural RH in that it’s based on Russian folklore & fairytales. The book set up the world and introduces the main characters without giving too much away, and leaving you wanting to know what happens next. Can’t wait to read the next book!

I really enjoyed reading the first book in the changeling Tatiana's story. I read this book in one sitting! I had no idea what to expect from one page to another which was refreshing. Also, pleasantly surprised that its a reverse harem! This world Ripley Proserpina wove is quite fascinating, and I'm very much looking forward to the next book! Refreshing point of view for a fae fantasy book. Instead of the princess who doesn't know she is a princess yada yada... we hace a replacement fae that should be dead and amounts to, well, nothing (and yet she is well rounded and useful - and something tells me the reason she is still alive will give her some nice points in the future! Or so I hope). I liked the men too, and that there is no insta-love on steroids at work. Still, I think some parts are a bit chaotic and need more explaining.
