    Just Another Perfectionist

Laura: "I love you." Massimo: "You know that most hoоkers aren't as perverted as you, right?" #romance 'Ten dzień' is book #2 in the '365 dni' series by Blanka Lipińska & just another example for a story that's been written with minimal (most of the time with none) research into the subjects the author "covers" in it. Just like with 365 dni, this book contains many questionable things/messages. Starting off with the book title, it translates into 'This Day' and holds NO MEANING - I still can't figur Laura: "I love you." Massimo: "You know that most hoоkers aren't as perverted as you, right?" #romance 'Ten dzień' is book #2 in the '365 dni' series by Blanka Lipińska & just another example for a story that's been written with minimal (most of the time with none) research into the subjects the author "covers" in it. Just like with 365 dni, this book contains many questionable things/messages. Starting off with the book title, it translates into 'This Day' and holds NO MEANING - I still can't figure out what Blanka meant with that title, the book doesn't cover only 1 day, but few months & throughout the story Blanka never gives us an explanation which day the title should signify. What I said about 365 dni in my review applies for this one as well, for a mafia romance Ten dzień is pretty boring, lacks variety & when it comes to the romance part: well, it's even more questionable than the first book, but details about that later. I do believe that the book should have a trigger warning (it doesn't) since it contains heavy topics that could bother some readers. A short summary: Massimo finds out about Laura's pregnancy and they get married without the knowledge or approval of her parents (the wedding is actually miserable, more of a business deal for Massimo, Laura has no part in its planning & Olga keeps saying how she should just get through the day, the bride actually begs Olga to help her run away. During the ceremony Laura literally prays for it to end, the guests are all Massimo's associates that are impatient to leave & once outside Laura gets swarmed by tourists to take pics of her). After the honeymoon, Laura's bestfriend Olga stays in Sicily to keep her company and starts a relationship with Massimo's half-brother Domenico. In this book Laura discovers that Massimo has a twin - Adriano, nothing much comes out of that aside from Olga getting assaulted, typical Blanka; many boring events later, she meets a "heartthrob" when he kidnaps her (He's a hitman and son of another mob boss - Marcelo NACHO Matos, or as I like to call him El Picanto)& she basically catches feelings for him after one week in his "care", Blanka loves masking Stockholm syndrome as pure love in her books. Nacho kidnaps Laura for his father so they can get Massimo's attention. Once it's time for Laura to be returned to her loving husband, the meeting for negotiations goes south pretty fast and her life is put in danger. The story ends on a very stupid cliffhanger, that I shall discuss in a few. Ten dzień opens with a Prologue that's pretty pointless because it recycles word for word a scene we already saw in 365 dni, this time from Massimo's POV. I believe this part was supposed to prove to us that Massimo has "feelings", it was a failed attempt that resulted in him coming off as a fake or a robot. All the Prologue does is boost up the word count since it shows nothing new or anything that could redeem all the bad things the "hero" did in the first book. From there on the book switches back to Laura's POV, Chapter 1 picks up right where 365 dni ended - Laura telling Massimo she's prego after which Massimo actually cries (his plan to trap her has worked after all). Just like in 365 dni, Blanka overuses waking up, falling asleep, fainting to end scenes & chapters as well as phone ringing as a tasteless way to shut down any raising event instead of giving us the climax that should follow naturally. Too much "teasing" is too much. Some chapters/scenes that are worth mentioning: - In Chapter 6 Massimo confesses he was the one that changed Laura's clothes in that scene from 365 dni & brags about FINGERING her while she was UNCONSCIOUS saying she was *clearly* enjoying it (this is the same guy that promissed her over & over again he would wait for her consent). For me this confession brings into question if he did just that everytime Laura would faint or get sedated. I still don't understand how she wasn't at all disturbed by what he admitted (remember this for later). - Chapter 10: where Massimo suddenly has British accent and Laura doesn't question it. Here I'd like to mention his twin (Adriano) spent years in England, I'd assume he and Massimo would talk differently but when Laura saw them for the first time together she said they sound absolutely identical. The sudden British accent would make sense if Blanka planned to reveal the twins switched throughout the books but at the end forgot about this idea which resulted in a plot hole. - Chapter 12 has the weirdest sex scene ever: 69ing with headphones & blindfold on (Laura's wearing both), the song that plays is nothing that you would imagine for the scene (Silence by Delerium, seriously google it). - Chapter 13 made me doubt how Massimo is still the head of the family with doing stuff like that on calls: Massimo has a VIDEO call on, so he's wearing a shirt, nude from the waist down & Laura gives him a BJ while he acts like he's listening to the man on the VIDEO call, she goes as far as sticking her hand up her privates & having him lick her fingers on CAMERA. After he hangs up he wants to punish Laura for pleasuring him so he forces himself up her ass with no lube, all this ends in their neighbours complaining Laura is screaming too much. - Chapter 15 has a scene that could be a beginning of bad porno: Nacho, disguised as gardener & Laura, being a bored housewife. You have her drooling over his hot body & thinking how his tool belt is the only thing keeping his jeans from falling and showing his boxers & *tool*. - Chapter 17 where Laura is fingering herself under the table in the middle of a gala event & then makes Massimo smell and lick her fingers in front of her parents. Classy. No limits. - Chapter 19 where Laura acts like she hasn't seen a naked man before despite being so experienced - Literally a toothbrush falls out of her mouth when she sees Nacho naked in the shower. Another scene like that happened in Ch 18 where she was staring at his tool like she has never seen one before. - Chapter 19** where Nacho "confesses" to f*cking Laura for half the night while she was UNCONSCIOUS (she was sedated when he kidnaped her) because he just couldn't help himself and she was *clearly* enjoying it. To this point Laura had feelings for him & once he told her that she felt like he TAINTED her and her baby (remember Massimo's confession? Double standard much). After seeing how disturbed by his words Laura is Nacho says he was lying/joking about *raping* her (for me that's the "Haha. I didn't do it, unless... *you like that*" spiel). Laura slaps him but all is fast forgotten & she eats romantic dinner with him like nothing happened, even went as far as calling him a great man later. For me any potential Nacho had was set on fire the moment he joked about such thing. Idk how Blanka thought it's okay to write it as a joke as well. It feels like she doesn't know how to write decent humans. Some lines from this book that just speak for themselves: For full size The characters: Laura Sleeps-A-Lot Biel - Laura still sees her situation as normal & justifies or doesn't even notice the bad things Massimo does, she's that groomed by him at this point. She's a truly lazy, shallow, bland, hypocritical, ignorant heroine. She's quick to tell Domenico he's rushing into marrying Olga but she herself said yes to marrying Massimo without even knowing his last name. She never really takes responsibility, blames her impulsiveness & overreacting to her pregnancy when in reality she was like that long before getting pregnant - running away from Martin because he was working on her B-day & getting kidnapped as a result. Her second time getting kidnapped is again thanks to her getting angry at Massimo and running off. Coincidence or just bad writing/lack of new ideas? Massimo Consent-Is-Still-Just-A-Word Toricelli - His character continues to be absolutely disgusting and abusive/rapey (in this one he forced himself in her arse no lube, no consent; admitted to touching her without her consent), still a hypocrite & a drug addict. He even got *aroused* by beating his own people to a pulp in a cage in his basement (he would have had a go at Laura if she wasn't carrying his heir). He never gets over his jealousy and hurts yet another one of Laura's exes for kissing her (said ex didn't know she was married). Domenico The-Tortured-Artist - He became very unstable and a drug addict the moment Blanka decided to unite him with Olga. A love interest isn't up to standard for this author if he doesn't have an addiction and doesn't try to kill his girlfriend in a fit of rage. Laura and Massimo as a couple - They still only talk about being perverted, Laura keeps going along with anything Massimo wants so he doesn't get angry, the amount of times he had a *crazed* look in his eyes during sex is disturbing. Her love for Massimo is shallow, she ties it to receiving gifts (the bigger, the better) & whines how he doesn't stay in bed until noon, you know, he has to work. I'm doubtful that she's actually truly in love with Massimo, on multiple occasions she's tempted to cheat on him, she goes as far as contacting an ex that was already hurt by Massimo for kissing her. During her second kidnapping she kisses and lusts after Nacho & then feels like she has so much with him in common & is sad she has to leave him behind. Nacho Doesn't-own-any-belts Matos - Basically Massimo 2.0 (kidnaps Laura, changes her while she's unconscious, watches her sleep...), he's more of Laura's type in the looks department when it comes to the men she used to date before Massimo (bald, with tattoos all over his body). Nacho has no problem going after Laura despite knowing she's pregnant and married to another man, lies and jokes about rape. Fifty Shades continues to be an *inspiration* for this book: the infamous lip biting; a bank scene where Laura withdraws money from Massimo's account & talks to the director of the bank; a man that wants revenge on her husband by hurting her, which puts her baby's life in danger (a kicking in the stomach scene). In Ten dzień Blanka does zero reseach when it comes to her plot (how different types of guns work, pregnancies). She has a weird obsession with her heroes singing (they could all form a boy band if this mob gig doesn't work out for them), being drug addicts (Domenico even offers coke to pregnant Laura), white wet pieces of clothing. The most disturbing thing she keeps using as a trope is rape/assault/forced blow jobs. The author for some reason chooses time & time again to write the heroes changing and touching the heroine without her consent while she's unconscious. I guess she thinks that's hot. Granted a mafia romance allows for some dark subjects to be woven into the story, but Blanka doesn't treat those subjects with respect: she writes multiple rapey & abusive love interests but doesn't really take the time to condemn their actions in her books in any way. When Nacho told Laura the lie about raping her, her first thought was she CHEATED on Massimo. How can Blanka categorize possible rape as cheating & also have her heroine contemplate killing herself when she thinks Massimo is cheating on her?! (the only thing stopping her was the unborn baby) At this point I believe the books in the 365 dni series exist because of the author's hunger for fame & money and/or seeing her fantasies on paper, they have nothing to do with love/passion towards writing, if they did Blanka would have done more research, put more work & thought into her story instead of publishing books that are so badly constructed and support a very warped view on relationships that she's potentially selling to young & impressionable readers. Speaking of the writing something I absolutely have to mention are the discrepancies with the timeline when it comes to Laura's pregnancy because it's tied to the ending & the cliffhanger of this book: The first book covers 3-4 months (Olga's words) from the moment Massimo kidnapped Laura. She gets pregnant almost right away thanks to Massimo's lie about her having a contraceptive capsule in her arm & even though months pass in the second book as well, Laura is somehow only 4 months pregnant the whole time (in the beginning of her fourth month to be exact). When you read the book you get the feeling Laura should be further along in her pregnancy (for example Laura spends almost two months hiding away from Massimo, but Blanka acts as if time freezes). By rough calculations she should be at least 5, almost 6 moths prego. This being said, let's talk about the ending of Ten dzień: During the ransom Laura gets shot & she loses consciousness because of her wound. After this the POV at the end of the last chapter switches back to Massimo's and we see him having to make a choice: save Laura or the baby, because too much time has passed & for some reason the doctors can only save one of them. The book ends on a cliffhanger with Massimo saying: "Save...". Blanka wants to keep us in the dark about who's gonna survive, right? The thing is, Laura is only 4 months pregnant, which puts the whole plotpoint about saving her or the baby into a new perspective - The youngest premature baby (a world record) to survive was born at 21 weeks, which would mean if Massimo choses the baby & it survives, it would be very lucky & rare (the baby was already exposed to stress, drugs and alcohol for months). Here I wonder why Blanka didn't leave Massimo's POV for a Prologue for the third book rather than spoil what's coming by putting it at the end of this one or why she didn't have Laura be further along into her pregnancy when the chances of the baby's survival are higher and the choice would make some sense. To summarize, Ten dzień is yet another badly written book that deals very poorly with heavy subjects & brushes over scenes that cross the line into rape. The book doesn't condemn a love interest joking, lying about assault. The story just like in 365 dni flows painfully slow, with chapters that are too wordy and long, with too many location changes to a point you would decide to give up on keeping track who's where. The twists are almost non-existend & very predictable, there's no variety when it comes to the scenes and descriptions. The book still lacks characters that you can truly root for or relate to, the only half-decent one from 365 dni was pretty much ruined by Blanka in this one. The men in this book are all shady, abusive, liars and/or drug addicts, the females - shallow & irresponsible, only interested in shoes, clothes & getting drunk/laid. The ending was quite clichéd and pretty much spoils the next book. If you're looking for a good, well-written mafia romance or are curious about the series after watching the movie adaptation of 365 dni, my advice is to skip those books. They're definitely not worth your time or money.

I picked this book up as I was told that it's much better than the first one. Well, is it? I see no changes in certain fields. It still feels like it was written by a teenage girl, characters still see no purpose in wearing underwear, erotic scenes are just as cringey ( Only one was somewhat fun ) The introduction of some new characters was an interesting move. Too bad they weren't used to their full potential. Very undeveloped and useless. What's the point? Also what's the point of that pseudo rape scene with Olga, which wasn't a rape coz author reassured that the girl wanted it. It was so pointless as it literally had no impact on the story. There's a lot of useless things in this book. It gives an illusion of constant action and drama. While in reality the plot sat still till the last couple of chapters. Way worse than the 1st book. However the last sentence made me curious about the continuation. Even though looking at the next book cover you can guess that the son will be saved. Not surprised, Laura is so stupid that she surely would get shot again sooner or later.

I definitely didn´t love this one, just like the first book. I know a lot is lost in (google) traslation, but overall, I think what is bothering me the most in this story are the characters. Not so much Massimo, because I actually enjoy a controling, jerkish hero. But Laura really, really is bothering me. She´s my least favorite kind of heroine, one that considers herself a strong female, but in fact, isn´t. I'm still looking forward to watching the movie though. I think I´ll like it better. Has anyone noticed that most of these 5 start reviews are from fake accounts ? This book sucks. I hate that this supposed “love story” turns into the heroine getting in bed with another man.( another kidnapper) At this point , I’m sort of sad that she didn’t end up just dying instead of getting kidnapped again. That would of need a better story.

This second book begins with Massimo trying to leave Laura after proposing to her. She manages to change his mind when she tells him that she is pregnant. Olga hooks up with Domenico and they spend the time fucking, drinking and taking drugs. Adriano appears, who is another of Massimo’s brothers and upon meeting Laura almost gives her a heart attack, as it turns out that he is Massimo’s twin. There is a threat of cheating: Laura catches Massimo fucking his ex Anna, although Massimo tells her that he was Adriano( although at this point I would be not surprised if it was him, bc he lies constantly). Laura leaves Massimo and escapes to Hungary where she hides for weeks until she and Olga de ides to return to Poland, where Massimo finds the and they return home. More of the same: orders by Massimo, Wild sex between them, with a Laura who lets herself be submitted in exchange for gifts and orgasms. Until one night when she catches Massimo getting high and when she runs away from him, she is kidnapped by Marcelo Nacho Matos, the son of a Spanish mafia family settled in Canary Islands. Laura, who seems horny 24/7, forgets the immense love she feels for her husband and begins to fantasize about her new kidnapper( this girl has a thing for this, I swear). The end of the book leaves a Laura fighting for her life, with a Massimo deciding who to save: Laura or his heir. I don’t know if I will like the third book bc I still don’t understand well these characters. They speak of true love and Massimo lies, manipulates, deceives Laura daily and she simply bores me, she has nothing of a character and dignity, nor does being pregnant try to stand up to him and demand respect.( the reason I give the book 4 ⭐️is that I can least understand that he is a bastard, thee only a few situations with him that I cannot understand, and the character of Nacho have me intrigued).

EDIT: After finishing reading the 2nd book and starting to read the third book, my stance on this series just keeps dropping. My stance on the movie is less than what it used to be. I wish that the movie producer and the director completely rewrote the book. MC is too "damsel in distress" like, super cliche, and her personality and IQ is that of a high school teenager. Very victim-mentality, and the crap she does, please... She puts Slavs to a bad name. MC is too "damsel in distress" like, super cliche, and her personality and IQ is that of a high school teenager. Very victim-mentality, and the crap she does, please... She puts Slavs to a bad name. Also, there should have never been 3 books, all of it could have fit in one book. But the author puts too many fillers in her books and by fillers, I mean useless and pointless sex scenes. Book 2 was just pointless. Just to point that out there. I skipped so many pointless sex scenes. The drama wasn't even good, it was just stupid. Something a child would do. As I continued reading the series, I realized this legit spanned in a few months and not 365 days. I thought she was with him or a year originally, but when I realized it wasn't I was like, "MC you are stupid." I understand the guy though because he was having premonitions of her for 5 years, it's understandable to fall in love when you keep dreaming of the same person. Honestly wish she wasn't written to be so dramatic and weak. Anyways, back to the original review. ---- ORIGINAL:I'm halfway through the English fan-translated version of this book, and I'm just irked with it. The first book was pretty decent with the drama, this one I just dislike the girl even more. She just really seems like the biggest fake ass bitch ever. She is so dainty I could never see her having power in the hotel industry at all. She's so delicate, like ew. Such a poorly written character. She keeps moaning about this and that, little things, big things, running from things, and in the second book she admits this is Stockholm syndrome. (view spoiler)[Not to mention, she falls for her 2nd kidnapper. Yes, her second! And dreams of having sex with him and marrying him also, like wth! I'm just done. (hide spoiler)] In general, she just sounds stupid. It's getting to be really hard to finish book 2 because of how annoying she is. I literally skip over their sex scenes too in book 2, because it's like I'm over it. The sex scenes are just fillers because the author couldn't come up with a decent plotline. Reworking Romeo and Juliet to the modern-day would have been better. Also, all the drama in the book MC starts from being super naive and super stupid. She really comes off as a 15-year-old and not a 28/29-year-old woman. I did enjoy Massimo's prologue at the beginning of the book. His version of things, I honestly really like his character, but the girl gotta go. She would not last a day in such a cut-throat environment in reality.

This is the continuation of 365 dni ..and this has the same problem that the first one did..i mean the scenes make you wonder "how the hell is that even possible..." Laura's image in the first few chapters of the 1st book suggest she is fearless and powerfull and knows how to stand up for her self...but by God is she an idiot after that...she turns so submissive that she could not stand up to anyone or speak a word out of her mouth infront of any of her ex's or even strangers..and some how all h This is the continuation of 365 dni ..and this has the same problem that the first one did..i mean the scenes make you wonder "how the hell is that even possible..." wow ! all the shit broke loose in the las two chapters ,and it was a little difficult for me to read it because i felt what she was going through in my bones . i think that Massimo isn't a great choice for her for the long run, she doesn't trust him and she questions his intentions on every turn which isn't good when it comes to a relationship, especially if the guy is your husband, so their relationship is doomed , and after that ending i don't believe that she will ever forgive him or be able t wow ! all the shit broke loose in the las two chapters ,and it was a little difficult for me to read it because i felt what she was going through in my bones . i think that Massimo isn't a great choice for her for the long run, she doesn't trust him and she questions his intentions on every turn which isn't good when it comes to a relationship, especially if the guy is your husband, so their relationship is doomed , and after that ending i don't believe that she will ever forgive him or be able to move on , so i really support her moving on with another love intetrest , cause she and Massimo simply do not work well together.

I actually loved the first book, but the movie is not matched with the books I guess.I mean the kidnapping happened in the end of the second book and they were already married and she was due in like 5 months and in the movie she just got pregnant and Massimo didn´t even know and they aren´t married yet,so basically I got spoiled.I loved the second book, even though it felt like everything repeated itself,I mean the sex and the figths and everything, but I loved the opened ending and I´m excited fo I actually loved the first book, but the movie is not matched with the books I guess.I mean the kidnapping happened in the end of the second book and they were already married and she was due in like 5 months and in the movie she just got pregnant and Massimo didn´t even know and they aren´t married yet,so basically I got spoiled.I loved the second book, even though it felt like everything repeated itself,I mean the sex and the figths and everything, but I loved the opened ending and I´m excited for the third book and second movie.I found it weird that Laura has these thoughts about Nacho, even though she really loves Massiomo,so that´s really the only thing that I didn´t like

LOL! As someone who earned a degree in English and has read everything from Chaucer to Shakespeare to Milton, I must say this was so funny to read! LOL, this book as the first is so cheesy that you just love to hate it. But you know what? I have grown to love the characters, and wish that Miss. Lipinska writes a prequel to the series as well as a fourth book where Massimo and Laura find their way back to each other and have a baby. Don't take this series so seriously, it's pure entertainment, it LOL! It's actually a 1 and a half STARS for me, but I decided to be generous and rate it up. For the best review you can read as far as I'm concerned and one that covers everything there is to cover about this story go chech https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... I love Massimo so much, his character and his acting, but I don’t like her and the fact that she somehow tried to put the blame on him for not assuming what she does. It was a big disappointment the fact that she suddenly fall in love with this stupid bald boy when she was having everything to her feet. So much of a disappointment 🥲

Extremely cute book despite the above comments that it was written as a teenager. After reading so many similar books, of course I miss a lot of erotic scenes, but still it is definitely one of my favorites in this style and I look forward to the translation of the third book about Bulgaria ❤️❤️❤️ thanks to Blanca that she exists🤗❤️
