Wishful Thinking: Coming Of Age Fiction And The Law Of Attraction All Rolled Into One

Availability: Ready to download

A coming of age tale, written by a girl who believes in magic, about a girl who once believed in magic. Can we really bring things into our lives simply by wishing for them? A law of attraction tale for teens, but also an inspiring read for those adults among us who have a fascination with the idea of manifestation, and those questioning what reality really is. Mrs Guthr A coming of age tale, written by a girl who believes in magic, about a girl who once believed in magic. Can we really bring things into our lives simply by wishing for them? A law of attraction tale for teens, but also an inspiring read for those adults among us who have a fascination with the idea of manifestation, and those questioning what reality really is. Mrs Guthrie was making Sophie baby-sit again. Maddie had been ditched in favour of a five-year-old. Could life get any crapper? Even her so-called magic didn’t really work. Of course it didn’t, because it was nonsense. Every time something good happens, it is followed by something rubbish she concluded. When Maddie wakes up in the early hours of the morning, feeling like the world is spinning, she sits up with a start. later that day, her life begins to change in ways she could never have imagined.

I don't know what the point of this book was. It seemed to be a YA book about how a young girl made the Law of Attraction/ personal magic work for her, but the storyline meandered all over the place. I think the author could have used a better story outline in her writing process, as she seemed to lose her focus ocassionlly. I received this book free from Goodreads in exchange for an honest review. I don't know what the point of this book was. Captivating and modern. I loved this book. I have a hard time staying around when I don't take to the protagonist. I loved Maddie from the start. Lots of references to modern culture. Very smartly written. Engaging from the start. The story follows Maddie through her teenage years with a reveal on an underlying story about half way through which the author handles very well. I would say that this book is probably more for women than guys, although they might want to take a look if only to see wha Captivating and modern. I loved this book. I enjoyed this book. I sort of agree with the last reviewer in that there isn't a huge story or plot but it's really a look at Law of attraction (that's why I purchased it) and how it works and doesn't work. It centres around a teenage girl and what it is is a look at teenage life with all of the trials and tribulations that go with that. It much reminded me of my own teenage years, boys, love, loss so I had lots of empathy for the main character. If it did have a strong plot then I'd have given I enjoyed this book. It flows along nicely however and made me snigger in recognition at some situations and comments. Probably because I am British with references to culture, stores etc.

Really love this book. So on point when it comes to teenagers issues and also as I am a believer in LOA it had double relevance for me. Loved Maddie. Really related to her in a big way.
