I'm in need of a happy, fun read after this. A very happy, super fun read. The Quarry Street series isn't a cheerful one, and its third installment is the most depressing one. No surprise there. Both the main and the secondary characters in this series had emotional baggage, problems, insecurities, heartache, grief. Whatever weight the main four carried, it was in no small amount the result of the tragic death of Jennilynn Harrison when they were all only teenagers, and this is the story of Jenni I'm in need of a happy, fun read after this. Whatever weight the main four carried, it was in no small amount the result of the tragic death of Jennilynn Harrison when they were all only teenagers, and this is the story of Jenni's life right before it was cut short. Some of the scenes were familiar as they were part of the previous two books, only here they were from Jennilynn's perspective. I don't know what to say about her. She was so self-destructive, I have a hard time understanding why she behaved in that manner. And where were her parents in all that? Lots of questions without satisfying answers. This story also introduced two new characters whose paths crossed with Jenni's: Rebecca and Tristan. Of course, their lives were fraught with problems of their own, but since Jennilynn's led to her death, I preferred reading about Tristan and Rebecca. It was less depressing. Rebecca and Tristan are supposed to get their own book All the Truths We Reveal. Hopefully, it won't be long until it comes out.

Not what I expected I'm not completely sure what I expected for an ending, but I know this ending made my heart hurt. Hart definitely introduced enough new characters in this one, as well as enough of their back story to allow for more books set in Quarreytown if she ever felt like writing more of them. And I'm a masochist, so I'd read them. Not what I expected I'm not completely sure what I expected for an ending, but I know this ending made my heart hurt. Good read This was a good series. I like the way this book have you the back story on everyone and then give the details of what actually happened to Jenni because I was wondering myself what happened.
