I received a finished copy from the publisher for review. Thank you! First off - the art in this is very cute. Secondly - this is an entertaining solo game/choose your own adventure comic that reminds me of D&D. I could see this being a great book for younger readers who are into tabletop games and enjoy the stress of leaving it up to the roll of the wheel (provided in the book so dice are not necessary). Some of the humor seems a bit young for the age I would recommend for solo readers as it is I received a finished copy from the publisher for review. Thank you! Some of the humor seems a bit young for the age I would recommend for solo readers as it is more complicated than your normal comic book - but it could be a great bonding activity with an adult as well. Great substitute for game night when your group can't make it or for playing on the road. The paths are very easy to follow and you have so many choices! You could easily read/play through multiple times and have a new exciting adventure each time. You'll probably know the answers to some of the riddles after the first time through - but any adventurer knows that you learn and become wiser during your travels. The constant flipping pages does get a bit tiring, but if you're invested in your adventure that should just be a minor annoyance. I'd also recommend using a copy you can write in or having scratch paper with you to track your progress.

There are cards at the beginning of the book for logging events, levels, and items along your quest and a punch out spinner at the back of the book. This makes it a complicated addition to a library. I couldn’t finish this graphic novel/game/choose how your story goes book. The concept seems fun, but the execution falls flat. The potty humor and brother standing around in his underwear might cause a fun chuckles among my students, but mostly it will cause disruption and frequent parent complaints. I will not be purchasing this one for either of my libraries.

Source: Quirk Books for Review Initial Thoughts: I love the premise, but this series is really involved in terms of keeping track of your different types of points, items, magic cards, etc. I wasn't sure I was doing it correctly even after referencing the directions several times. Also the book is very based on battles, and I'd have more choose-your-own path choices than fights personally. I think this is a good idea, but you need to be right audience for it. I didn't have the patience to finish.
