Fast pacing This is a fast pacing survival story. Is an EMP bomb the beginning of the end? Baxter family has to find a way to survive. I liked the characters more than the plot, but I want to read the next book.

Needs a LOT of work. There are so many abused adjectives in this novella I almost have up on it for that reason alone. Then there's the problem society completely breaking down less than 3 hours after the EMP. It's not like we don't have plenty of examples of what actually does happen during a blackout and it's not this. But the pace is pretty good. I would say spend some time with a good editor (or anyone with a good eye for usage), make the breakdown more realistic (weeks at least, not hours), Needs a LOT of work. Has potential.

Aftermath is a very accurate description of what any big city could be like after an emp explosion. An average family is caught in the aftermath of an emp attack. They must grow beyond their past to find their missing daughter. Society is in total breakdown, and it's every person for themself. Awesome! I give this book a 5 star rating because it kept me hooked! I didn't want to put it down and was sadly disappointed the end had come. Smooth easy read, good way to pass the time relaxing and immerse in the story. Awesome! I give this book a 5 star rating because it kept me hooked! Rose When the world as we know it ends, what would you do? As Naomi leads her family out of a dense town, she encounters terrorist and terrors we don't want to think about. Will they make it in this new kind of world? I loved reading this story to find out. Rose When the world as we know it ends, what would you do? Intense HUGE cliffhanger Aftermath of what might be an EMP. A family of three: husband, wife and teenage daughter are separated across Philadelphia. Story is engrossing but greatly impeded by horrible editing.

Good read. This story starts off fast, and keep you on edge at an even faster pace. I only wish more than just one more book is ready for reading. I know I will regret not waiting till the series is complete before starting this journey.

Not bad Good story. There were a few spelling and character errors that made a few places confusing. However, the story and plot were good. Read in one sitting.

Told from the viewpoint of a locally famous relationship psychiatrist who finds that her life is far from perfect and made worse by an rebellious daughter and a distant husband that she has not been able to connect with. This story is all about how 39-year-old Naomi Baxter finds herself in a situation that no one is ever prepared for, especially when they live in a place like New York city. Very poor editing but a nice beginning to this series regardless for me as enjoyed the characters presented and how they coped with their change of circumstances in traumatic situations.
