This is one I picked up because I was getting curious about those cozy mysteries some people are fond of. I'm still not sure whether this was the right decision to make.. The entire time I was reading, I felt like the conversations were forced and the plot rushed. References to past events get cleared up quickly, but are equally as rushed through as the plot. The combination of those things backfires on the entire story - not to mention the characters automatically not feeling fleshed out at all. The story was wrapped up neatly, but all my earlier issues still have a huge influence on my opinion. I honestly wish this novel would've been longer. It would've given the author more space to actually work through all the things I feel are missing in this book. 2.5 / 5 for an okay read!

An excellent start to a new series. I was excited to see a cozy involving a cafe, a psychic who solves murder mysteries, and it's set in Britain. What more could you ask for? The author has created wonderful characters that I look forward to reading more about in this series. This book is short but had a very well developed story line. Recommend it for cozy lovers! You can tell they care about each other and they support each other as only sisters can do. Karis is a strong woman who has had psychic visions for as long as she can remember. Sometimes she thinks of these visions as a curse and sometimes as a blessing. When she foresees the death of a young woman she feels compelled to try and figure out the killer. With the help of Peggy, her mom’s elderly neighbor, that is what she sets out to do. The writing style flows smoothly and the book is a quick easy read. I really liked the character portrayals and I really felt that Karis is a special woman. She is caring and enjoys spending time with the elderly and tries to help them whenever she can. I would like to know her in real life. The mystery was well written and there were enough suspects to consider and clues to sift through. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. Psychic books are among my favorite and this one did not disappoint. I will definitely be reading the other books in this series.

A Deadly Delivery (A Psychic Cafe Mystery, #1) This story had huge potential, but the finished product left me flat. Not sure what it was that did not quite work for me. I did not feel engaged with the characters. The conversations between the characters did not flow as well as they should. There was not enough to hold my interest to make me want to buy book 2 in this series. It was OK.

The gift of sight Karis has a gift that can be both good and bad. She can sometimes see the future but although she might try to warn about danger coming she has no control over the sight and cannot change the outcome. She is starting a new phase in life with her divorce and reconnecting with friends. When there is a murder that she foresaw she and some friends who believe in her gift help her try to solve the case. Good characters and a well developed plot and subplots make this a fun read.

Where one book ends the next picks up the continuous storylines with each adding a new plot for that book. The characters were interesting; some could be considered annoying at times. Others were good in their supporting roles. 4* A Deadly Delivery #1 - This is my first read by this author and I was surprised that it was good. The storylines were interesting and the characters were good. There was enough intrigue to keep the reader interested in this quickly read story. 4* A Fatal Wedding #2 -This book picks up where the first book ends. Again, the storylines were interesting. The characters are growing into their roles. Erin got on my nerves with her lack of caring for herself with all those miscarriages since she's pregnant again. Peggy is a good support character with even more personality in this book; she's funny and a snoop, and a second mum. 4* Tea and Murder #3 - The storylines are interesting and build toward the future. Karis and Seb are finally at ease with each other, but the past butts in again. Erin is still her silly self refusing to take better care of herself. Peggy rocks and is more of main character than Erin, which I like better since P is bright and lively and E is anxiety in motion. A good mystery with an unexpected twist. 4* The Knitting Pattern Mystery #4 - Blast to the past, 1958. This is a well put together read. The storylines mesh well with a thread going back to 1958, as some of the others come to fruit. Good characters, although this time I found Peggy a pain here and there, bless her heart. Erin did well, not her usual careless self. The just friends are getting closer and everyone knows it, except them of course. 4* Psychic Cafe Mysteries Box Set 1 end. The Cross Stitch Puzzle #5 - Picks up a few weeks after Knitting ended. The storylines are full of second chances, theft and murder, and cakes. The characters are interesting, even the nasty one. Peggy, bless her heart, kicks up her fascination with investigating the thefts and murder to Seb's dismay and concern for both her and Karis. There is a good twist or two. I think book compares better than Knitting, which was still interesting. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout. 4* Psychic Cafe Mysteries Series end.

I really enjoyed this book, despite my initial reaction to the premise of it and I'm so glad I decided not to unhaul it. The story itself grabbed my attention almost straight away and the author held up that interest the entire way through the book, dropping little clues here and there to keep us wanting more. I particularly loved how Fernsby created this back story to why Karis and Erin weren't speaking beforehand, the vision and why she fell out of touch with her sister. I particularly loved how Fernsby created this back story to why Karis and Erin weren't speaking beforehand, the vision and why she fell out of touch with her sister. It added another layer to the story that she was able to play on later. I didn't think I would enjoy the psychic element but it was added to the story so well and it didn't overpower the rest of the story in anyway, which I was pleased about. Throughout the book we had several characters and they were all so well written, there weren't too many that we lost track of who was doing who and everyone had a purpose within the book. At no point did it feel like the author had included anyone unnecessarily. Karis and Erin's relationship was so sweet too, it made my heart feel all fuzzy! I think by far my favourite character was Karis, and the way she stood up for herself against her ex husband and stuck to her guns about helping find Carmen's killer really endeared her to me. I did not expect the killer at all! I do wish we had a bit more interaction with the killer though, I felt we were instantly meant to hate him because of what he did, but without much else to go on. There were no huge shocks or surprises, except the killer, but for me this book just flowed. It made sense, it was well written and I enjoyed it.

Plus I can see him be a potential love interest in the future which I think would be very interesting to see play out. Other than that it just didn’t wow me and I think it’s going to be forgettable. It wasn’t bad just forgettable, and I just wanted a little more especially with the whole psychic abilities thing.

Give me a cozy mystery with psychic characters, and I'm there. Well, this time, with disappointment. Karis hasn't seen her sister for two years. Highly recommend! A new series (for me) by an author whose work I love. My expectations were high! Karis has psychic abilities. Her life is a whirlwind; so much is happening! Best of all: her reconciliation with her dear sister. But worst of all: a murder. I’m happy to report: my high expectations were fully met! I loved it! It’s a novella, so it’s a quick read. A new series (for me) by an author whose work I love. My expectations were high! Karis has psychic abilities. Her life is a whirlwind; so much is happening! This was an enjoyable read about a mystery then throw in a psychic and it takes it up a notch. I liked how the author did the psychic that she wasn't on all the time and had problems of her own. It made her seem more real as if she was on all the time why would she have problems? I had some guesses on who killed the victim but wasn't right at first. I did like how the main character grew in the story and didn't let her ex walk all over her. I would consider reading more by this author. So Many Secrets! This is the first book in a new series. I picked it up on a recommendation of a friend. Glad I did! It takes place in a small town in England. As an American I always find British cozies very interesting. I always feel like I’m being transported into a PBS mystery. The plot was clever - loved the psychic angle. I found the characters well developed & relatable. Can’t wait for book 2.

Wow! What a refreshing story, I loved it! It was so real to life, I love how everyone treats their friends and neighbors with love and respect. How they learn to forgive and trust each other again. I especially enjoyed how the elderly friends and neighbors were treated! The love and respect and including them as useful and not just inthe way! Loved it! Way to go! Plus they solved the murder mystery, which will keep you guessing til the end! Fantastic plot!
