a slim, unimposing but incredible book. I was surprised because the quality of President Vicente Fox here is different from the rambunctious personality I had expected from his Twitter (and that personality is already very excellent and comical). Here he assumes the mantle of statesman, thoughtful and earnest. The book is surprising because it does not take the easy way of taking a funny dump on Trump, which is also welcome. Instead, it engages with Trump's essential policy catchphrases and spar a slim, unimposing but incredible book. Here he assumes the mantle of statesman, thoughtful and earnest. The book is surprising because it does not take the easy way of taking a funny dump on Trump, which is also welcome. Instead, it engages with Trump's essential policy catchphrases and spars effectively with them. The book is pragmatic and realistic. It acknowledges Mexico's drug and violence problems, but shows the way to prevent their passage to the US is not through ineffective walls but through solutions to America's opioid and drug demand for Mexican supply and through repair of lax gun laws that enable gun supply for Mexican cartels. It acknowledges Mexico's undocumented immigration, but shows contribution from this group to America's economy and suggests the practical solution of legal guest workers whose privileges would be less than citizenship. It acknowledges Mexico's relative poverty, but shows how the country's trade with America enriches Americans. To Trump's attractive belief that his climate policies reflect that he is president of America, not Paris, Mr. Fox fires back simply: both America and Paris are on Earth. To the hurricane of noise around the American healthcare debate, Mr. Fox proffers his insight as a previous corporate executive for an international company: global companies offer employee healthcare not because of compassion, but because it helps employee effectiveness. Healthcare and a social safety assurance from fear of hunger and homelessness helps us all focus on productivity and self-actualization as employees and citizens. Indeed this is Mr. Fox's signature argument: the right, compassionate act to do actually benefits us all, through concrete and creative examples and solutions. He doesn't rely simply on the argument of moral outrage, even though to decent people that should already be enough.

This is a must read. It is useful what people abroad are thinking and seeing. While Fox was not the best of presidents, he has quite a bit to say about where we are. He is a critique of the president since Donald Trump is violating political and social norms. Also, he is a right wing populist, and populists rarely bring good things. Trump is leading to a crisis, but he expects the United States to survive this, and self correct. We have done that in the past. If you are interested in how others s This is a must read. Fox speaks Vicente Fox speaks his mind on how the U.S. system/American dream is being destroyed by our ugly nasty President Donald Trump. Fox clearly explains how democracy should be respected in the world and how its not being respected by President Donald Trump who lacks a lot of knowledge and public service. Wake up America! Highly recommend to read!

A must read from a Mexican friend. Very good explanation of the mutual benefits of free trade and NAFTA.

Well said, Mr. President I bought this book when it was first published, but just now read it. Donald Trump has proven to be more vile than Mr. Fox even imagined. We are in a pandemic, in which this vicious sub-speciman is seemingly trying to literally kill us with his terrible advice about cures, and trying to make us believe we are safe to resume our lives without heeding the advice of doctors and scientists. Mr. Fox, I have visited Mexico many times, and love it as I love the USA. I would move there, but not until my country gets back on track, and gets rid of this would-be dictator. Unfortunately, the Justice Dept., much of the Judiciary, and the Senate are now his sycophants. I don't believe these people have souls. Even though I am an atheist, I believe that all people matter. I agree with your 7 principles of reason and behavior. Your book is both troubling and refreshing, but I fear we have slid further down a steep slope since you wrote it. Maybe the pandemic will save us.
