FILTHY MOVIE, by Wade H. Garrett certainly delivers what it promises! Anyone that is familiar with Wade's "vigilante" character of Seth, will appreciate the horrific tortures present here. Definitely not for the faint of heart (but those that are should be able to read the title for themselves ;) ). When a young woman and a married (to someone else) man decide to spend the night in a motel....well, let's just say they chose the WRONG one. Highly recommended to fans of extreme horror and gore! I am a little embarrassed to admit that my favorite bit was the most disgusting and offensive part of the whole thing. Twinkie. One of the craziest, most inappropriate, nastiest things I have ever read. Ever. And that’s saying something for an extreme read that features bloody socks, golden showers, tit-bags, coprophagia, and pocket pussies. Get the retch bucket ready. Wade H. Garrett needs therapy. Sick, sick, sick OMG. This is definitely the nastiest, most disgusting story I have read yet. There were a few parts that made me cringe and look away. I still gave it 2-stars. (What does that say about me?)

Duncan and Christie are casual acquaintances frolicking in a hotel room when there's a knock at the door. Duncan answers the door to find Henry, the owner, in the hallway with a camera and tripod. Without warning or permission, he barges in. “Would you two be interested in making a filthy movie?” As it turns out, it's not exactly a request. Now, trust me when I say that I'm not the least bit put off by gore (I'm rather fond of it, in fact). I have no problem reading about/seeing the most vile and repugnant things. In this story, Garrett attempts to depict some horribly heinous acts. Yet, in my opinion, they just come across as ludicrous. I know that this is obviously a work of fiction, but to create a good, cringe-worthy sense of dread and horror, I think the torture should be at least somewhat realistic. Or at least possible, if not probable. Here, it was just way too far-fetched. I hate to be so overly-critical, but I have high hopes for books that promise an extremely sadistic story. This one, in fact, claims to be the most sadistic short story on the market. Hmmm.... To me, excessive amounts of contrived gore diminishes not only what could and should be great, gruesome scenes, but also the value of the story itself. There was no suspense--no feeling of dread, no mounting tension. I think a big part of the problem is the fact that there's no character development. None. I could care less what happened to any of the three people I was hastily introduced to. They didn't even have unique voices-- Duncan says, “Hold up!  What are you doing?” Christie says, “Hold up!  I thought you were going to let me go.” Henry says, YEP, you got it... “Hold up!” as he tosses something to Duncan. Angel says, "Hold up? Who the hell says that? Why can't some of them say, 'wait a minute' or even just 'wait?' How about something more realistic, given their dire situation--a more desperate plea rather than a request for a slight pause?!?" {groans in frustration} I truly don't mean to bash this book, honestly. It does have potential and that's probably why I'm so harsh. Mr. Garrett, please forgive me for this long, frenzied review. I applaud your terrifically twisted mind. I guess I'm just too picky when it comes to carnage. Though I must say, the scenes with the (view spoiler)[ fetus (hide spoiler)] were very creative and pretty brilliant.

As a fan of both Wade H Garrett's work and extreme gore you can imagine my excitement for this short story. Every time I read one of Wade's books I think it can't get any sicker... this (yet again), proved me wrong. This is on the level of A Serbian Film filth and depravity. Sick isn't even really the correct word to describe this... utterly despicable and vile are words that touch just the tip of the iceberg of how totally disgusting and horrific this is. I am unsure where Wade gets the ideas for his work (I dread to think haha), but yet again he knocked it out of the ball park with this book. It is totally repulsive and awesome - I was both repulsed and enthralled by the character Henry. I found it entirely believable that this story (in its entirety), is considered too sick for Matt Shaw's book 'The Devil's Guests'. Thank you to Wade for releasing the entire story for us gore freaks that love to be sickened and shocked - you didn't let us down with this! Because of how extreme this story is, I am unsure I can recommend it to any of my friends without them taking me to the nearest psychiatric facility hahahahaha! But if you are someone that likes your reading to make you want to scrub yourself with a wire brush after reading it... then I highly recommend this to you. I can't wait for Wade's next story or book to come out, he is by far the most extreme horror writer I have read (and I think myself as well read in the genre). Move over Edward Lee, Wade H Garrett has stolen the title for the sickest writing out!

I love gore, I love messed up stuff. I just really didn't like this book. The flow seemed off, parts felt almost repetitive, others felt jumpy and like they were added for shock value alone but didn't really add to anything.. After their first few injuries there's no way the rest could really happen and that took me out of it. I did read the whole thing to see where it went. It has a great premise and I really wanted to like it. I love gore, I love messed up stuff. I just really didn't like this book. Garrett This was a stand-alone short story. The story was written for a project called "The Devil's Guests" by Matt Shaw. The project was a novel that had chapters written by different authors introducing characters into the story for the serial killer to off. This short story was the result of what Wade Garrett wrote for the project. The project ended up cutting 2/3 or more of his story and heavily edited the rest of the work. Since the story was essentially gutted down to nothing Wade Garrett decided to put out the full version of the story and make it available to read unabridged. That is the story I read. This story came with a warning of extreme violence, sadistic tendencies, and just horror taken to the extreme. This warning is what piqued my interest. I had to see what a story was about that came with a warning label. Let's just say that the author didn't disappoint. This story was extreme. A couple, Duncan, and his lover, Christie, rented a hotel room and started to get hot and heavy with each other in bed. As they were in the throes of love in walked a man named Henry. He owned the motel the couple were staying at. With him he brought an old fashioned style VHS camcorder and a tripod. Duncan jumped up to ask who the hell this man thought he was when Henry pulled out a knife and swiped it across Duncan's chest. Duncan and Christie got the idea that he meant business pretty fat. Henry had the couple move the mattress. Under the mattress was a wooden platform of sorts with shackles at the top and bottom of the bed attached to cables. Henry had both of them secure the shackles around their feet and ankles. Once he was sure they were secure, his fun was about to start. That also meant that Duncan's and Christie's lives were about to be changed forever. Henry showed them 2 wheels that he had created. One wheel had different sexual acts written on each pie piece that the spokes of the wheel created. Things like titty fuck, anal, eating balls, etc., where some of the acts written on the wheel spokes. One the second wheel in each spoke pie piece where their names, Duncan and Christie. One name in every other spoke, with the other name taking up the rest of the slots. Each person, Duncan, or Christie, had to spin the first wheel to find out what sex act would be performed. Then they would spin the second wheel twice. The first time to find out who the sex act would be done to, and the second time to find out who would do the actual sex act. For example, Duncan could spin the first wheel and land on titty fuck, and spin the second wheel, find out he would be titty fucked, and then the second spin he would find out that Christie would be doing the titty fuck to him. As you can see this game can go wrong very quickly. And what kind of extreme horror story would this be if that game didn't go horribly wrong? The point Henry explained to them was that he wanted to make a movie. Only he would watch the movie, it was a movie just for him, but he wanted the movie to be dirty. He wanted the movie to be exciting. Even after Duncan and Christie fucked in front of him that wasn't dirty enough. The game would spice things up a little bit. And so it did. This story was extreme. If you are offended by violence, or torture, sex, or even rape, this is not the story for you. Heed the warning of the author and editor of the story. They are not just coming up with fiction to sell a book. They are telling you the truth, so be forewarned. I found this story to be quite intriguing overall. I also found it quite a bit far-out there as well. I mean no one said we were going for realistic horror with the story, but I didn't feel this would of met that criteria. It was gruesome and sadistic, but just to far off from being "believable." Now with the suspension of disbelief at hand, I let myself fall into the story. It was very easy to get into this story. It was like a train wreck. I could see what was going to happen, but I couldn't look away, I didn't want to look away. I wanted to see every bloody, sadistic, sex game act played out. (Not sure what that says about me...) The author went into great detail of the acts of the game. There was one point where the imagery was so vivid and detailed that I felt like I wanted to throw up. I actually felt my gag reflex kick in. That's some good horror there. That's some good writing and description. Looking past the story and what is depicts is what lies underneath. What makes it tick. The writing, the structure, the description, this story had all of that. I felt the writing style flowed easily and after a couple minutes you never even realized you were reading anymore. Nothing flashy or showy, just down to earth writing. The description was also very good for this story. The author did a great job at showing what was being done. At the same time of showing what was being done he made you FEEL what was being done. That is a tricky bit to the writing and he pulled it off quite well. A well written, and descriptive story. A good horror story, above the top, but it was a scary as hell ride. The ending had a fine conclusion. I felt it was a bit cliché with the ending, but I don't think it hurt the story any. In fact in the very last few paragraphs of describing what was being done, I actually laughed a little trying to picture Henry wearing what he was wearing. It was so sick it was comical.

Fan-effin-tastic! The imagination, coupled with the vivid images inside this book, held me and kept me turning pages. The warnings are there, blah blah blah. Don't pick it up if you can't be bothered to read even that much. Would recommend, for sure, if you want to live in a cold sweat of knowledge that thoughts like this exist inside someone's head. Absolutely horrible!!!! I loved it! Once again Wade pushes me out of my comfort zone, and I wouldn't want it any other way! This story imo surpasses everything else I've read that Wade has written...extremely graphic, gory, and shocking. Thus particular story should only be read by the most dedicated (and deranged lol) extreme horror fans. Never have I read anything like this...and had it been written by someone else, I doubt I would've been able to finish it! Consider yourself warned! Enjoy! Absolutely horrible!!!! I loved it! Filthy movie, indeed! Wow, this was the first Wade H. Garrett book I have read and it certainly won't be the last. This story, as promised, was incredibly depraved and gory...which I love! Definitely not for the feint of heart. I made the mistake of reading it right before I fell asleep..big mistake!! At first I thought some of it went beyond the pale...still kind of do. But that is what the story is about and was supposed to do. Filthy movie, indeed! Wow, this was the first Wade H. Garrett book I have read and it certainly won't be the last. Its not even the violence I was not offended or disgusted...I love graphic horror. The premise was interesting. The problem is simply that it is stupid. Violence is far more terrifying when it is believable and at least somewhat realistically represented. This is just silly and dumb. It crosses out of horror and just became stupid descriptions of impossible, comic book type savagery. Just dumb.

I don't judge people for what they read; I understand morbid curiosity and trying to test your limits--and the written word is a controlled, safe place to do that. But yeah...that was intense, man. Sick, twisted, gross--and very creative. Two of my favorite books are American Psycho and Naked Lunch and I almost put this one down. It's f***** up! Was okay. I can deal with extreme scenes, and yes they were extreme, but this just didn't have a story attached to it to warrant what was written. There is no background on the characters so you really couldn't care less what happens to them (other than get sympathy pains). Even a little character development could have gone a long way. Like the movie Hostel in terms of brutality, but at least that had characters you cared about. Was okay. I first heard of Wade H. Garrett about a year ago here on Goodreads. I read "The Angel of Vengeance," and was hooked. "Filthy Movie" lives up to it's title, and definitely isn't for the squeamish. Maybe I have a sick mind myself, but nothing about this book bothered me. Surprised? Yes. Disgusted? Yes. Aroused? Possibly. Made me want more? Absolutely. I look forward to reading what he writes next. I first heard of Wade H. Garrett about a year ago here on Goodreads. Hardly one of the classics of contemporary literature, but makes for a viscerally captivating and jaw-dropping exploration of just how extreme horror writing can become. Yes, I know that these books are for mature readers but so long as the reader can differentiate fact from fiction, and understand that these stories are meant as nothing more than vapid entertainment, I would recommend Garrett's work to anyone who fits these criteria. They are touted as occupying their own genré, that of "extreme horror" but if you are easily offended then you shouldn't read these. If you find the Twilight series to be as thrilling as you can bear, then you are not even ready for page one of Filthy Movie. It's pulp fiction of the most horrific kind, but there is a certain grace in the author's freedom of expression. Never has the written word been used to cause such physical reactions. I'm a definite fan and look forward to reading more of Garrett's work.
