Great Series I love the characters and writing style. Ervin obviously is a wise woman and shares her wisdom through the characters. There is a little bit of all of us in each of them. This is like a self help book without the irritating promises that if you do what your instructed life will be perfect. The stories are down to earth, and give me the feeling of sitting with a true loving friend over coffee talking about life in a comfortable chair by the fire place. The situations can be harsh, but Great Series I love the characters and writing style. Ervin obviously is a wise woman and shares her wisdom through the characters. The situations can be harsh, but there is always a warm feeling in the outcome. I can't wait to read more. I wish I could visit the boarding house as a guest, I do believe I would enjoy my visit. The story's are well thought out and you don't know what is going to happen next. Absolutely wonderful writing, a piece of art. Thank you Ms. Ervin for giving readers this gift of Winkler and all the people who make up the community.

Wonderful friends, like past kinfolk Ok, so I did not write any review heretofore; could not stop to do it. 6 books of binge reading. Taking a small break to offer appreciation to the author for her lovely work. Some others can talk about the good writing, stable characters and storyline sequencing. I will just say I was kept so engrossed and enjoyed all of the stories as I was a witness to them. Lovely!!

The Beat Goes On Evie is something else she was determined to get away from home at the cost of putting her family in danger.
