So, let me preface this review with the fact this is not my typical choice of genre. I am generally a post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, space opera, and LitRPG fan. I was not disappointed with this story, given that I wasn’t sure what the genre entailed. I was drawn into Rowe’s character and found myself rooting for her at various points throughout the story. The writing in this book was great and provided for really well-developed characters. The characters were so well developed that I found myself with a deep-seated anger for one of them in particular. This character was Caine. He was definitely a piece of work and I felt bad each time Rowe had to interact with him. I am not sure what it is with the books I choose, but if there is a Cooper in a story, the situation never ends well for him. This held true in this story. With all of that said, I am anxious to find out when book two is due out. I want to know what was witnessed in the final scene of the book. I want to see what the future has in store for Strike’s pack. For my first journey into the genre, I have absolutely no qualms giving this a 5/5, especially given that I wasn’t sure what to expect. Ruby and Rick have a great series here. Mrs. Kaplan did a great job bringing the characters to life in this series.

I love werewolf stories, so this was a no brainer for me to read. I was surprised with the hunter aspect of the book, and was super entertained by the interaction between the hunter, and the werewolf., however, several times I wanted to shake some sense into her over her father! It was a nice change of pace from just your normal Werewolf attacks mindlessly type of books. I enjoyed the lore that was put into explaining why the characters did what they did. This was a fun read, I love the reading style and found it easy to slip into the world of the book and lose myself in their issues. Super plot line, engaging characters, twisty and fun. If you like werewolves, hunters of the supernatural, mysteries, with a dab of romance this is a great read for you. 5 out of 5 Stars from me!!! (I read a early release copy of this work in exchange for a fair and honest review of the book.)

This book is a fun take on a twisted fairy tale. The werewolves vs. werewolf hunters is a fun spin. Lycan Moon was enjoyable from beginning to end, and leaves you wanting MORE!!! The characters are well written, and easy to form attachments to, which is a bonus. I mean, seriously, I've never wanted to reach through a book and throat punch someone until I read this!! So, if you're looking for a new twist on some werewolves, GO!!! Grab this book! You won't be disappointed. **** I received an advan This book is a fun take on a twisted fairy tale. Weakness in the plot Some obvious stereotypes and the plot has few surprises. A moment with a weapon early in the book that needs to be re-crafted because it lacks clarity. The world-building felt thin. A veneer of walnut over cardboard. The Guild is never really explained, the hunters are poorly trained, and the wolves are idiots. I cannot recommend this book, though it is not the worst paranormal book I have read this month.

This is one of the best werewolf stories I have read, and I have read quite a few. Rick's book is funny, dark, snarky, mysterious and vicious. There are characters to hate and characters to love. The hunt scenes will make your heart race. I would recommend this book. It is an enjoyable, fast read. This is one of the best werewolf stories I have read, and I have read quite a few. Not all that attention-grabbing for first in a series. Was OK. I'll still read #2, but it probably won't be a publication day purchase unless I don't have anything else to read. This was an okay book. I was very disappointed in the lack of wit and humor that I got used to from Rick Gualtieri and the Tome of Bill series. This was just a run-of-the-mill werewolf story.
