This is a book that delivers on everything it promises to be.

Aside from the badass women in this book ranging from athletes to Nobel Peace Prize winners- “Whose stories are in the book already? Women, femme-identifying people, and gender nonconforming (GNC) folks. You’ll see people from many cultures and backgrounds who are often not represented fairly in the media. In one way or another, you’ll be able to connect with many of the powerful stories in these pages.” I was impressed by the stories written in this book and the diversity of the badass babes involved. The list spans from Halima Aden to Helen Zia. This book not only challenges beauty and body standards, gender constructs and other stereotypes, it highlights those who have overcome extreme adversity and pushes us to envision and cultivate our individual “badass babe” selves. I highly recommend this book and rate it 5/5 stars. I’m looking forward to buying the paperback so I can really get into the exercises. I’ll be getting this for my nieces when they’re old enough to appreciate it too! The book leads girls/women to recognize who they are and to create/visualize their own story. This motivates us to be better, stronger, gentler, more creative, more active women, more in touch with our true selves and our own story; women who know that taking care of ourselves is the first step in caring for others and being able to offer all that we are. This book lets us (girls/women) know that we can be whatever we want to be and empowers us to follow and fulfill our dreams while at the same time stressing that we are okay and perfect just the way we are. An important book for our girls AND ourselves!! I also loved the small, easy to read biographies of all the badass women featured in this workbook. To the author: You are the Queen Badass. Please create more wonderful books like this!

Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for the opportunity to read and review Badass Babe Workbook. I received an ebook edition, so I'm unable to say anything about the paper or what it would be like to work on. I really liked the look of the book. I would have marked it 5 stars, but I found the workbook bit underwhelming. More of an afterthought. I wasn't interested in that part enough to do them in a sketchbook. Some might enjoy it, but I have seen much better creative workbook stuff. All in all, I would recommend this to all the ladies of course, but I think it would make an especially good gift for tweens and teens.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. It's more like 3.5 stars, but mostly because I really wanted to enjoy this book a lot. That I loved about the book. But I also had higher expectations on this part of the book too. In the end, I find this workbook a tag bit too short, and maybe that's why it feels superficial. One could argue that it's the size that makes it be not boring and fun, but I think that if done well, it could've had more exercises and talk in more details about these heroines and even include more women and humans. It's still a great read!

Oh my gosh, I freaking love this book! I learned so much about different women throughout history who were totally badass. I love the writing prompts to inspire you to think. The sketching instruction and prompts were really different for me; I've never thought of myself as any kind of artist, but it was really fun trying out the tips in the book. I'm definitely going to buy multiple copies of this one to gift to the important women in my life. Inspirational AND educational AND entertaining. The Oh my gosh, I freaking love this book! 3.5 stars - This was a beautifully illustrated collection of stories about lesser-known woman in history that helped pave the way for acceptance. I was consumed with joy as I read each woman's tale of fearlessness and have a new-found appreciation for all of the opportunities I'm currently given. I especially liked the message that it doesn't matter if you're an artist, an athlete, a doctor, or part of the church - there is always a place for you and improvements to make. The included activities started out very thoughtful and I honestly can't wait to add them to my bullet journal spreads. However, as the book went on the prompts seemed to be repetitive and less useful. I think the drawing tips were a great addition but seemed a little out of place. My absolute favorite part of this book was the illustration style. I especially enjoyed that every woman was presented in different shades of the same color, eliminating judgement. I think this could be a very useful workbook to some people and is a very important collection of motivational stories to have on your shelf! Thank you to the publishers who provided me with an ARC of this book through NetGalley!

I had a different impression of this book when I picked it up from when I finished it. I was expecting more of a book about defining yourself as a badass, but the book is more focused on the empowering women around the reader and what the reader can learn from them. It doesn't feel feminist or empowering and when juxtaposed with the source materials - kind of cheapens the feel of the overall concept.
