Accurate and to the point—but not much new in case you've had any prior experience with Facebook ads. If you're reasonably comfortable with similar interfaces or are willing to simply click around and explore the site by yourself, you may not need this. But if you like to have techy things explained to you in a clear, step-by-step approach, this book will do that for you. My first foray into Facebook Ads totally bamboozled me - lured in by an offer of a $10 voucher and somehow spending more than I'd bargained for - for little or no results. Having watched Mark Dawson's video version of this book, I now have a greater understanding of how Facebook Ads work, where to go to set them up (The Ads Manager - the Power Editor has been merged into the Ads Manager), how to structure them and what I can hope to get as a result. I'm finding Dawson's full course of even more practical value. While a little dry at times, Dawson provides clear and methodical, step by step approach to using Facebook Ads to build a mailing list. Great for Indie authors who wish to find readers for their books.

For absolute beginners This book was simple but definitely an oversimplification if you’ve tried Facebook ads before and you’re looking for something to improve your skills. However I’ve heard amazing things about Mark Dawson’s course from people I trust so that’s probably a good way to go if you’re interested in learning more as an author. This book is take it or leave it if you aren’t an absolute beginner.

I have zero experience with Facebook ads, so this was a good overview. I now feel like I could explore simple options in Facebook ads. But the author laid out a much more complex funnel of using Facebook ads to collect leads for your email list. This process involved several kinds of applications that had to work together to achieve the desired result. There were too many moving pieces to make the overall plan appealing to work through.

The title of this book is misleading. This isn't about "mastering" Facebook ads; it's more of an intro to Facebook ads for the total noob. But as it turns out, an intro is what I needed, as I am a total noob. The book is free, so I can't complain too much. But if you're already basically familiar with how to use Facebook ads, you probably won't get anything out of this. It's really short and basic. The title of this book is misleading. A simple step by step guide to setting up ads. I can't comment on how good it is to set them up as it made me realise that I am not yet ready to set them up for my books (as I don't have a clear idea who my target audience would be) once I am ready I will come back to this book again. Not sure it would be of much use if you have any previous experience in Facebook ads as it seems to cover the basics but good for a complete newbie. A simple step by step guide to setting up ads. A Decent Introduction to FB Ada I can not say I learnt anything new and the book is extremely short. There are a number of times where the author offers a free course to sign up to, which ironically, is building HIS mailing list using the tactics he outlines for you to follow for yours. If you are a newbie to FB then it’s a good quick read to get you started.

Not much new here Having just finished Mike Cooper's guide to Facebook ads, this book didn't really offer anything new. It is aimed at an author that is looking to build their mailing list through Facebook ads. Useful if you have never looked at a Facebook ad before. I was hoping for more author-specific advice and maybe some details on how to create high-converting ads, but this appears to be a sales funnel into Dawson’s Ads for Authors course so I guess I can’t blame the guy for dangling the carrot.

Very little substance here. It’s basically “to set up Facebook ads, click this. Then click this.” Except it’s all out of date with the Facebook interface. Because of the outdated info, this “book” is really not even useful for beginners. Really made me doubt this guy’s credibility overall.

A good little book, which explains not only how to set up an author page on Facebook, but also how to advertise through your Facebook page in order to attract readers to your mailing list. If you don't have a mailing list yet, this guide will tell you to get one. More than once. Straightforward Short but deep enough instructions on using Facebook to build a mailing list. Lots of tidbits and pictures help to navigate the ad manager. Quite helpful. Still had a question or two unanswered but overall 90% of what todo is here. A video follows the text.

This is a very useful book, which is not as much focused on selling your books through as on FB as on creating a mailing list, which means it has good advices for the long run.
