I'm an independent reviewer for Romance Authors That Rock. This is a short introduction to Rafe... He is a PI.. in this short Rafe was hired to find out what happened at the Raven's Lodge... Being this is about 50 pages there isn't any character development... Just a fast case to introduce Rafe... I enjoyed it and would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys reading this kind of book.. I'm an independent reviewer for Romance Authors That Rock. This is a short introduction to Rafe... Good story read. Here we get little perk of rafe before the spirit box and ana. Rafe going around solving case's over deadly painting and whatever else there is. At the end he gets the case that's going to change his life from the whole I'm boring and I work alone. Good story read. Here we get little perk of rafe before the spirit box and ana. Not Kindle Unlmited but got both books on freebie days. Look at the writer's amazon page, he writes a bit of every genre and he writes a lot, so definitely should be something of interest. {The other 5 books are kindle unlimited and for sale or sale soon. The Cloud one probably are as well and are being written as the before the Freelancers, totally, but still about the main guy and what goes on with him} Murder at Raven's Lodge (The Freelancers case files) The Loiterers (The Freelancers case file Not Kindle Unlmited but got both books on freebie days. Murder at Raven's Lodge - a review by Rosemary Kenny This is a brief, yet interesting and engaging novella, which I would recommend to sci-fans, mystery-lovers and anyone with half an hour to spare for a detective story with a difference! The hero Rafe Clarke, is an alien PI rejected and yet called upon by his former employer, Beryn Comstock of The Circle, whenever their requirements demand discretion [and lack of self-concern]. The hero Rafe Clarke, is an alien PI rejected and yet called upon by his former employer, Beryn Comstock of The Circle, whenever their requirements demand discretion [and lack of self-concern]. The latest case is a death which has occurred at the exclusive eponymous Raven's Lodge gentlemen's club, to which he is literally transported through a portal/door, direct to the club. There is no sign of a corpse, but Rafe uses his alien powers to discern the cause of the bloody trail and the source of the mysterious vampire-like entity inhabiting a painting. What will happen next - can Rafe prevent the same happening to other club members? Can the portrait's origins be discovered ? Can the evil within be controlled and contained without damage to Rafe or others nearby? And most of all, will Rafe actually get paid this time? Read this tiny gem of a story by ingenious writer, Lee Isserow and find the answers, which will take you out-of-this-world for a while!

Murder at Raven's Lodge Murder in the club… This short story has the 'tally-ho' ethos of the British class system: down and out P.I. meets the aristocracy. Add to that the complication of magic and you have an enjoyable, light-hearted jaunt into murder-who-dun-it. The story is short and the P.I. solves the case by simple detection, but the whole thing is a fun read. At the end there is a lead into The Spirt Box, which is the first full-fledged novel about Rafe Clarke, the P.I. main character. This is my first encounter with the protagonist, Rafe, but I'm familiar with some of Lee Isserow's other work. And, I've enjoyed every one of those works. That being said, Murder at Raven's Lodge definitely grabbed my attention. This short story is entertaining, humorous and vividly naughty with a smear of violence. I definitely plan to read more of Rafe's misadventures and, thankfully, there appears to be several ready for me to devour. Hurray! I highly recommend it and hope you enjoy it as muc This is my first encounter with the protagonist, Rafe, but I'm familiar with some of Lee Isserow's other work. Quick read. The first part is a missed opportunity, and while I understand is in part used to describe present the detective and the problem's solution, it's too much hay. There is also a missed opportunity for efficiency, not just in part of the character, but on writing, the follow of the blood flow while systematic breaks don as unnecessary when he sees... what he already suspect is a cursed painting. Very short, but entertaining. Humourous, albeit not laugh out loud funny. The mystery was solved very quickly, but I'm curious how the author would do with a longer text, dragging out the mystery and its solving. I'd definitely consider reading more of this series. My second short (25 pages) read from author Lee Isserow. This one about a magical private investigator, I enjoyed it anyway and am on to a third by this author.
