This is only the studio draft so of course the finished film is going to be different and that actually gives me hope. This never really seemed to come alive for me, it was good, well written, faithful to the original story by Stephen King however it just wasn't very scary, the scenes with Pennywise seemed kind of tame. Oh well, we shall wait and see. 3 stars. This is only the studio draft so of course the finished film is going to be different and that actually gives me hope. IT Part 1 by Stephen King Book Review After reading the second part of the novel IT I was surprised on what happened through this part. From the last part to this part I kept my word and it is still suspenseful. Truly, my point of view on the 1,200 page novel is great because you can get so much insight onto what is happening and it helps us(the readers) figure it out. I like horror novels and movies so I feel like he wrote a good book so far. From the last part to this part I kept my word and it is still suspenseful. Truly, my point of view on the 1,200 page novel is great because you can get so much insight onto what is happening and it helps us(the readers) figure it out. I like horror novels and movies so I feel like he wrote a good book so far. Two things that make this part of the book so good is that he takes the fear out of the children, and writes a great novel. During the time I was reading chapters 10-14(Part 1) I was convinced on how well King took away the children’s fear of IT. I feel like this happened because of how IT(Pennywise) helped them with the fear of their surroundings during the night and day. It has been so long since all the children have met, and so with that, they feel close to each other. Since they are together again, their life is better now than it was before. When they got seperated at first, they were scared to be alone because they had no one to talk to. A quote that I found interesting as to what Eddie said is that “Home is the place where ... you have to finally face the thing in the dark”(Part 2 Chapter 4). He changed this quote from meaning one thing to the next. He meant the phrase to mean convey comfort and sanctuary into one reflecting his experience at his own home. It is a place where they faced unimaginable terrors as children. Lastly, I really like how Stephen King writes all his novels. I like how he transitions to a different story in the book rather than just leaving us(the readers) hanging on probably something so intriguing. For Stephen King to take his time writing these stories I am so glad that it came out to be so good and intense. Without the intense and scary scenes, I’m not sure it would be this great. Moving forward, I would really like to see some more intense action. (BR)
