. In this humorous and cozy mystery series, the reader is swept away into exploration and adventure, in a magical town called Spellbound. Emma frets in turmoil over the upcoming marriage of the man of her dreams, Daniel, to someone else. Something seems kind of hinky about the whole thing. Besides that drama, there is the mystery of a recent dead citizen to solve. Emma has her plate full in this book. Each book in the series adds new characters, some interesting and others not so much. All seem to get along with Emma. What will happen next? You will just never know unless you crack open the book and start reading. This book can stand on its own, it was a clean presentation, a romantical disaster was avoided, and a mystery was solved --

The Person You Least Expect Fifth in the Spellbound series. Emma is a bright spot in Spellbound. She seems to get along with everyone, a few exceptions of course. Will the wedding supposed to put all others to shame actually do that? What's going on with Agnes and Silas? Stay tuned. Same witch series, same witch characters. One of the things I have enjoyed most about this series is no cliff-hangers. Not this one. I am certainly glad the next one is available, or I would be screaming. Just so you know.

A bit slow This story has Emma having to deal with Daniel being engaged to someone else and trouble for Marcos at his new building. The stories are getting a little repetitive, but are still enjoyable to read. Yet another youth case and another murder. Emma is convinced Daniel is not himself. It is all rather bitty and lacking in the humour side of things. The story for me was slow going. If you are reading the set it is worth it but it is not one I would start with. It is my least favourite of the books so far but still a good read with all the characters progressing well but the Daniel thing was getting boring.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books... 1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future. 2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author. 3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up. 4 sta Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books... 1 star... Not up to par for this series Disappointing on many levels. Emma's pontificating to her young client at the beginning was so naive and shallow, it was very difficult to credit the thinking to someone who had recently been educated as an attorney. I found this colored my reaction to this entire storyline. Emma's "secret" does not make sense, and no information has been offered to substantiate it. I also can't believe that all the men in Spellbound are dumber than rocks. Very disappointed. Not up to par for this series Disappointing on many levels. Emma Hart is already struggling with her emotions. The love of her life is engaged to a fairy who is more spice than sugar. She's trying to move on. But that doesn't mean that Markos, the centaur who is interested in Emma, is someone she wants to date. She will, however, have a friendly meal between friends in his new building with a moving labyrinth. Too bad the body of the town's building inspector is found dead. Fun lighthearted adventure I started these books looking for a distraction. What I found was a fun light-hearted adventure that I can't put down. There is a deeper side to the stories. They explore themes of friendship, loyalty, love, anxiety, self-doubt and courage. Emma is a little bit of every woman and the cast of characters surrounding her are people or creatures that we all wish we could have in our lives. Why did he have the poison in his pocket? Great light read. A new man in her life and a new case. Why did the werelion have a deadly poison on his person. She doesn't accept that he meant harm and so tries to unravel the real reason. The growth of the relationships between the inhabitants and our heroine is the true storyline. The growth of friendship is a delight to read and the characters really come alive under the masterful penstrokes of the author. Why did he have the poison in his pocket? Great light read. Another adventure for Emma. This time she's determined to prove that Daniel is under a spell. She's also being pursued romantically by a minotaur while investigating the murder of a building inspector. This was a very fun read that sort of had a cliffhanger type ending. Since I'm binge reading the entire series, I'm off to the next book! Another adventure for Emma. This time she's determined to prove that Daniel is under a spell. Better and better I seriously love everything that Annabel Chase writes. Her style is cosy and friendly, she invites you into the story and introduces you to her characters and their relationships, without causing the reader any tension. It is a joy and delight, to read what Annabel Chase writes. Super relaxing.
