Life is Short has a nice variety of short stories. The author even included a couple of his own memoirs that were fun to read. I'm sure he could write an interesting book just with adventures from his younger days. I'd read it! Having read some of his previous books, I knew I would like this book and I did! Looking for a really good book of short stories? Grab this one, it doesn't disappoint. Life is Short has a nice variety of short stories. Great Collection! I absolutely loved this collection of short stories. I had previously read a few on them like Shannon and Old Man in a collection called "Summer Dreams" which I also liked very much. I particularly liked the memoir pieces. I like this format because the author is not locked into one genre. I think he shows great ability at writing horror like his hero Stephen King. Great Collection! This is a very enjoyable collection of short stories. This book should include something for everyone. I really liked My Monarch Summer. It follows a young boy captured by the beauty of a Monarch butterfly and his quest to catch one. Will he be able to trap one and will it make him as happy as he thinks it will? I also enjoyed Chad Stinson Goes for a Walk. This story follows a gentleman's experience with a weight loss aid. Has he finally found something that will work or will it prove dangerous? This book is very delightful - it's filled with 13 different stories, all of which are unique in their own way. A story shorter than 3 pages made me cry instantaneously, a few stories made me chuckle and ALL short stories made me think! The best part about reading the stories is the imagination behind the author!!! This book is very delightful - it's filled with 13 different stories, all of which are unique in their own way. Sometimes authors you like for their novels maybe don't quite shine as strongly in short story format but Shawn Inmon mostly, to borrow a football anology, hits the back of the net. The vast majority are up to the standard of his long format telling and well worth reading if you are a fan. Short and often bittersweet I enjoy short stories and was delighted this popped up on my recommendations. These were stories I could really see as Twighlight Zone episodes. I don't have a favourite story. Maybe a re-read will do that. Short and often bittersweet I enjoy short stories and was delighted this popped up on my recommendations. Another good read Took a break from the middle falls series and read this and I enjoyed it. Love the insight I got into the author with all these short stories and the background of how they came about.

Short Stories. I loved these short stories. Shawn Inmon is a great author and even in short stories the story comes to life and the characters are real. Can't wait for the next ones !! Creative I was pleasantly surprised when I read these stories. They weren’t the usual type of stories and each one found a place in my mind that will stay for a long time. I’m looking forward to reading more.

No happy endings. I didn't like the vicious elaborate revenge at the class reunion and I HATED that you killed that so happy dog. I almost quit reading right then and there. No happy endings. Life is Short is a very enjoyable book. I am not a huge fan of short stories however I really enjoyed most of the stories in this book and finished wanting more. I particularly loved the storey about the caretaker and the stories from his childhood. As expected in a book with such a variety of stories and genres I definitely had some I enjoyed more than others. Summary is once again Shawn Immon has done a great job & at this stage I would excitedly pick up anything he has written.
