Meanwhile, Ryan is a successful entrepreneur, whose wife cares more about his money than him. One night Ryan goes out to drown his sorrows and meets Merci. Sparks fly between the two, and they’re left wondering if their chance encounter will lead to more. This is a short read at a little over 50 pages. But in that short amount of time the author establishes the characters’ background and the drama that awaits them as they contemplate their future. Ryan and Merci are two characters I felt bad for due to their loveless marriages. Merci is sympathetic as she struggles with her self-confidence and a husband who doesn’t make her feel wanted. As for Ryan, you also feel bad for him because he’s a nice guy who wants love, but unfortunately his wife doesn’t feel the same way. From what I’ve read, I’m excited about the continuation of Merci and Ryan’s story. The first book ended with a bit of cliffhanger, which makes me anxious to read the next volume to learn the couple’s fate.

Two unhappy people trapped in loveless marriages meet at a bar. Both are drinking to escape and find each other. The magic that happens between Merci and Ryan is right for the moment but not right in the long run. It's a bittersweet story of setting oneself free and reevaluating bad situations. Sometimes it's not that easy. This is a romantic one-evening read and a first in a four book series about two lovers who keep finding each other in all the wrong situations. Very enjoyable. This book is a story of two people who are in relationships with people who don't really love them. They meet and feel things for one another that they haven't felt in a very long time. The book was shorter than I liked. I loved the characters and the descriptions. Great story, and lots of fun. Robin missed a chapter in the middle, not really but I wanted to read more of what happened between the two characters.

Fireball Whiskey by Robin Rance is a quick, engaging read for adult romance readers. The main characters Merci and Ryan are very relatable through their feelings of loneliness. Merci is a pretty, sassy lady and Ryan is charming, handsome, and rich. Both are in loveless marriages and have a chance meeting one weekend they thought would be completely different than what is about to be. This is a heartfelt story with an ending of hope and possibilities.
